We don't believe giving money to the banks is helping our economy.
Why can't we give each state at least one billion dollars to help pay for state workers, teachers, fireman, police, repairing the schools, hospitals, roads, and developing local renewable energy sources like wind power, solar power, geo-thermal power, etc.?
This infusion of money into each state would immediately effect the economy locally and nationally.
Also, if instead of giving the money directly to the banks, a statewide housing fund be set up to assist families beginning foreclosure and money for families trying to buy the already foreclosed homes.
This way, hopefully, the abandoned homes (one in 60 homes are empty in Nevada) would have families buying these home with the State Housing Fund assistance for a down payment and closing costs.
The families that are facing foreclosure should be able to renegotiate their loans and also get assistance from this State Housing Fund!
This way, the 700 Billion Dollars would be creating jobs, saving jobs, protecting homeowners to save their homes and assisting families to buy the already foreclosed homes.
If you divide 700 billion dollars by fifty states this comes to 14 billion dollars per state.
Or, the money could be divided by a percentage based on the population of each state as states with higher populations usually have higher costs for education, medical needs, SSI, Food Stamps, housing, etc.
If each state were required to use this infusion of money for creating new jobs and saving jobs; assisting families facing foreclosure and assisting families to buy the already foreclosed homes; assisting business that are failing right now; you would see an immediate turn around in our economy.
We believe that bailing our companies, banks, etc. is only helping those companies and banks, not the day to day American Citizen!
Each state is more knowledgeable about what needs are in their state as far as education, medical, food, housing, etc. needs.
This bill would satify everyone-the state governments; the individual American Citizens and taxpapers.
Some of the 700 billion dollars should go to each American Citizen and Taxpayer in a direct cash infusion to help them with day to day bills-credit card debt, house payments or rent, utility bills, food, clothing, Christmas or Hannakuh etc. presents, etc.
If this money was sent out by December 1, 2008 to all of the states and all of the American Citizens; you would see an immediate turn around of our economy.
We fear that if you give money to corporations and banks, etc. this money will only bail them out and help them pay their CEO's more large million dollar bonuses etc.
We need direct help NOW! Our country cannot wait for the banks to decide to start lending money or the corporations to decide to start hiring people.
Money has already been given to AIG, banks, etc.
How much of this money has reached the day to day American Citizen? How many jobs have been created? How has this money effected the American Economy directly?
With the States receiving money directly and the American Citizens receiving money directly now you will see immediate changes in our economy because most of our economy is based on the American Public buying houses, cars, clothing, food, medical services and medicine, education, etc.
We read an article lately that stated Americans are cutting back on eating out, going to the movies and sports etc. entertainment (Las Vegas Trips and Reno Trips), buying clothing etc.
They are even selling their old gold jewelry and anything else they can find in their house to sell to pay day to day bills!
Take a poll of the House of Representatives and Senate to see how many Senators and House of Representative members have cut back on their eating out at restuarants, buying clothing for themselves and families, cut back on vacations and sports and movie entertainment etc., paying for their own or their children or grandchildren's educations, medical visits and medicine, food at home, etc.
Ask them if any of them have had to sell their own jewelry or any other items in their homes to just meet their bills?
The 700 billion dollars needs to reach these American Citizens immediately, not in one year, or five years, or ten years.
People are doing without heat, food, medicines, medical care, educations, etc. for themselves and their children right now!
Our country is in a recession and heading quickly for a depression worse than the Old Depression!
Unfortunately, today, we also have a rampant gang problem here in the United States. These gangs have more fire power machine guns, etc. than the police!
We are already seeing a rise in crime here in Las Vegas with Casinos and businesses getting robbed!
Things will get worse before they get better if something isn't done immediately!
We hope these suggestions will give you some new ideas to present to the Senate!
