Fresno for Obama
I've noticed what may be (and I hope is) a trend in these early primaries. Early polls, taken weeks before the primary generally show Sen. Clinton with a comfortable lead. Then, as the primary approaches, that lead tends to evaporate, and the result has been either a victory for Barack or a close loss. Nationwide polls seem to reflect the same trend. I think that Sen. Clinton had a big advantage early on because of her name recognition, but as people get to know Barack better, they like what they see.

Fresno for Obama
I attended a precinct captain training here in Fresno this morning. It was a good chance to meet some fellow Obama supporters in person. It was an eye-opening experience seeing some of the enthusiasm that until now I had only seen on TV or on the web. I went into the training thinking I wouldn't be very good at making phone calls and canvassing (I have a serious hearing impairment). I came out believing I can do it. Or, to paraphrase Barack, "Yes I can!"
