Douglas Brehms's Blog
A place to discuss current issues of religious freedom

I find it ironic that whenever someone suggests a forced day of rest that it always is Sunday. Instead of saying that every man woman and child is required by law to take a twentyfour hour period of time for rest and relaxation, and monitor it like they do trukers logs (the mechanics of implimentation would of course be a problem, but for hourly workers it would be simple to monitor) But why is Sunday always the choice of day off? Just because a vast majority regard it as a Holy Day is no reason to infringe on the rights of those who not only don't believe that way, but believe that to regard Sunday as a day of rest to be contrary to Biblical authority. Already every secular practice seems confined to Saturday. Sports games in high school and college are either on Firday night, or Saturday, after all you wouldn't want to desecrate Sunday by having those games then??? Most Sabbatarian Christians, Jews are excluded from such activities by their choice to worship on the Bible Sabbath. The protection of the minority has always been a foundational belief of a republic. Democracy in contrast always practices the will of the majority rules even if it inconviences the rights of the minority. I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United State Of America and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisable with LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL!
