Obama 2008!!
Frank Rich, columnist for the NY Times, always writes such insightful columns. Love reading his stuff. His latest is entitled, "The All-White Elephant in the Room". It's excellent!

Not just until after May 6th but no more primary debates!!! There have been 21 debates so far and there is nothing new. The last debate showed that the moderators were only interested in tabloid journalism. And, Senator Clinton wants a moderator-less debate? Are you kidding me? Have you seen how she doesn't shut up even when there is a moderator telling her that they have to go to a commercial...can you imagine if it is only her and Obama on the stage. If she kept talking and he didn't interrupt people would say she is presidential and in control and he looked weak. If he was forceful and interrupted her because she was rudely taking all the time it would be said that he was disrespectful to her because she's a woman. Give me a break! Obama can't win in that situation. NO MORE DEBATES! Obama needs to just get out and meet the people of Indiana and North Carolina in person on their own turf. There have been enough debates...people have cable and network channels. It isn't as if they haven't had the opportunity to see the candidates on television.
Obama 2008! Please God!
This article has fax numbers to Senator Clinton's campaign offices. It calls for all of us to fax our tax returns (redacted personal info) from 2000-2006 since those are tax returns she could have released long ago. And, tell her we want TRUE transparency. Senator Obama is transparent and she claims she is more than transparent but she isn't. This is a great idea! Clog their fax machines with this.

We've got a ways to go but after listening to Senator Obama's speech today I couldn't help but think of the words from the Louis Armstrong song..."What a Wonderful World":
I see trees of green, red roses tooI see them bloom for me and youAnd I think to myself what a wonderful world.I see skies of blue and clouds of whiteThe bright blessed day, the dark sacred nightAnd I think to myself what a wonderful world. The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the skyAre also on the faces of people going byI see friends shaking hands saying how do you doThey're really saying I love you.I hear babies crying, I watch them growThey'll learn much more than I'll never knowAnd I think to myself what a wonderful worldYes I think to myself what a wonderful world.
At the speech today, Senator Obama didn't only look presidential he WAS presidential. I have been supporting Senator Obama for a very long time but as I watched him give the speech today I truly saw him as OUR PRESIDENT! And, I truly saw him as the Leader of the Free World! As I watched I was so proud of this man...

AND, Nancy Pelosi is going to be on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulus tomorrow. AP reports that Pelosi says it would be damaging to the Democratic party for its leaders to buck the will of national convention delegates picked in primaries and caucuses, a declaration that gives a boost to Sen. Barack Obama.
"If the votes of the superdelegates overturn what's happened in the elections, it would be harmful to the Democratic party," Pelosi said in an interview taped Friday for broadcast Sunday on ABC's "This Week."
The California Democrat did not mention either Obama or his rival, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, by name. But her remarks seemed to suggest she was prepared to cast her ballot at the convention in favor of the candidate who emerges from the primary season with the most pledged delegates.

The Clinton campaign is trying to marginalize Senator Obama and the campaign needs to get out in front of this RIGHT NOW!
I think Senator Obama should have a press conference immediately and be very firm. He should say:
***************************************
"Senator Clinton is baiting all of you (the press) and the American people and you are falling for it without asking further questions. She is doing that by making comments about the possibility of having both of us on the ticket, me as VP even though I have a significant delegate lead, am ahead in the popular vote and have won more than double the contests she has won to date. Why aren't you asking her if she means that she will be the VP? Her husband former President Bill Clinton is doing the same thing. This is only a ploy and people should not fall for it. They are doing this to marginalize me as "just a VP" candidate to those people who may want both of us on the ticket. Yet, at the same time that Senator Clinton and her husband are touting the possibility of a joint ticket she is having press conferences stating that she "has a lifetime of experience, Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience and Senator Obama has a speech in 2002." She's also said that she "has crossed the Commander in Chief threshold, Senator McCain has certainly crossed that threshold, as for Senator Obama you'll have to look to his candidacy." Being VP means that you have to be READY to step in as President on a moment's notice, "on day one" and generally at a time of crisis. How can she say the things that she has said about me, while endorsing Senator McCain as President of this country and at the same time smile and say there might be a possibility that I could be her VP? She is being disingenuous with the American people and the press have fallen for it. I have no intention of being the Vice-President because I am the person who is ahead in this race. As the remaining contests continue my delegate lead will likely remain about the same. There is no reason that I should ever entertain the thought of being the VP because I will be the nominee. It's time that the press call Senator Clinton on her rhetoric. She needs to answer questions about the alleged 35 years of experience from the time she was 25 years old. She needs to answer questions about what specific foreign policy crises she mediated or what treaties she helped to get signed while she was first lady. She needs to answer questions about what specific crises she has personally dealt with that would give her the experience to answer the phone at 3am. She needs to answer specific questions as to what crises she has handled that helped her cross that "Commander in Chief" threshold that she says she has crossed.
People should also be asking Senator Clinton why she hasn't released paperwork that she should have released long ago, such as, her tax returns for previous years as well as for 2007, paperwork from her time as First Lady, paperwork from the Clinton Library, and the missing pages from the Barrett Report. I know she now says that she will release this year's tax return "around tax day" but what has she been afraid of by not releasing all of this paperwork long ago? And, we won't be getting the other paperwork before the general election. This is exactly the type of thing that I have been passionate about while in the senate. I have worked to create greater transparency in government by passing bills on ethics and transparency. At first Senator Clinton said that she would release her tax returns after she was the nominee. That's ridiculous! That doesn't give Democrats the opportunity to make an informed decision about the candidates in the race. If she released her tax returns after she was the nominee, Democrats would have no choice but to vote for her even if they didn't like what they saw in her tax returns. Either that or they would have to vote for a Republican or stay home. That is not the Democratic way. Yet, she continues to assure people with a smile that all of that will eventually be released. The problem with that scenario is that it will be too late for the American people to make an informed decision about many things, including how the Clintons have made their money, who has donated to the Clinton Library, what exactly did Senator Clinton do as First Lady, etc. And, frankly, I think that's why she doesn't want to release it before she is the nominee and likely after she was inaugurated as President.
George Bush has been the most secretive president we have ever had. We don't need to have a Democratic nominee who seems to work in the same way."
******************************************
We need to encourage him to get out in front of this story before people start voting for her believing they can have the best of both worlds, both of them on the same ticket.
IS THE CAMPAIGN LISTENING????
We need to contact every single person in the 5th Congressional District in Iowa to help defeat this man in November. He is a disgusting human being who has no business being a Congressman.
See the comments he made about Senator Obama at: http://www.spencerdailyreporter.com/story/1316727.html
Iowans, please start working on his defeat. We need to send a clear, strong message that America doesn't stand for this kind of racism or vitriol. Obama campaign can you help them?
Obama 2008!
On TalkingPointsMemo.com there was a discussion about what the Clintons are up to regarding their recent comments on a "unity ticket" with Obama being VP. They said that there were three reasons for the comments:
"1. To lower the stature of Obama by getting people to picture him as a Vice-President rather than a President.2. To lay the groundwork for a scenario a few months from now where Clinton has damaged Obama enough to make him less electable than she is but needs super-delegates to push her over the edge. This scenario is a guilt-reduced way for superdelegates to pick her over him in this case. "At least he'll be V.P. That's something. And if he doesn't want it, at least we offered."3. To get him to reject the proposition in a way that makes him look bad. "He doesn't care about party unity either. He doesn't want to be her V.P."Further in that thread it says: "So what's the best way to respond to this tactic? Here is my suggestion:
OBAMA: "Hillary keeps suggesting this because she's trying to get leverage so I'll pick her as my V.P. It's why she's staying in the race while she has almost no chance of catching my delegate lead. I wish she would call me instead of continue with the path she has chosen. If I'm elected, I would like to see her play a role in my administration, but I'm not sure that will be an option if she continues a divisive campaign that is hurting our chances in November."
This is a great response that the Obama campaign should use. They need to forcefully address ths so that she does not marginalize him to being just a VP.
...are do the MSM keep saying that Hillary won? We have to contact every news organization to get them to stop touting that she won 3 and he won 1 last Tuesday. And, we need to tell them to change their maps because when they show states Hillary won they have TX for her. And, in fact, NV went to Obama because he got the most delegates. At the least if Hillary won the popular vote in TX and NV they should stripe it to show they split.
Get the word out!
Senator Obama, I have been listening to some really smart analysts about Pennsylvania and they know that state. They are saying that in addition to the large rallies that you have you need to get down and dirty and more intimate because the question people are asking is "is there any there...there?" It's going to take long, long days for you to meet people on their own terms and spend a lot of time with them. Whenever you have had time in a state you have always done very well.
They are also saying that you need to get David Axelrod and your speechwriters in a room and totally revamp the stump speech and bring up Hillary. You need to draw striking contradictions about the way she does politics and also your record. Don't wait to respond to her and don't let her dictate the news cycle.
Keep up the great work! We will continue working for you. We need you to be our next President and we can't wait for January 2009! Obama 2008!
