Greetings everyone,
We are once again calling on Grassroots support to help our president implement his change agenda. Organizing for America (OFA) has launched it's first major action, the Pledge Project Canvass that we're asking our volunteers to participate in on March 21 & 22. For all that you built, help us kick this off right! There is true grassroots activism that YOU stirred up - we still need your help to harness it.
Dear Fellow Democrats, Obamacans and Independents, My name is Donna Mansfield and I have been asked to be the Regional Coordinator for Women for Obama. Some of you know me and some do not, so allow me to take a minute to introduce myself. I am a resident of Fayetteville, a wife and a mother to a wonderful 6 year old. I came to Fayetteville via the US Army and have been actively involved in our community, currently as Board Chair for the Partnership for Children of Cumberland County ;. I was very active in the Primaries on behalf of the Obama campaign and was a Alternate-Delegate to the Democratic National Convention this year in Denver. I am writing to invite you and any other women you may know to join our Women for Obama team here in Fayetteville. Barack Obama’s Campaign for Change will rely on Women for Obama participants like you across the state to make a difference in this historic election. I know that as women we wear many hats and have many different responsibilities but I urge you to become involved and voice your support for Barack Obama. Below I have listed an overview of what we will be doing to help Barack Obama's campaign succeed here in North Carolina.

Hello everyone,
I hope that everyone is ready to work and get the word out here in Fayetteville! Our campaign headquarters will be located at 214 Hay Street, we are currently making sure the phone lines are up and everything is in order, but we do need some help.
The campaign is looking for people to donate any extra office furniture such as tables, chairs, mini appliances (coffee makers, mini fridges, toasters) and common office supplies.
All supplies donated will be returned or donated to a local charity, that is at the owner's discretion.
Please e-mail me at fay4obama@aol.com let me know what you have available please include what you can supply, your name and a good contact phone number. I or a staffer from the campaign will contact you.
Thank you for your help and interest in this campaign.
God Bless
Thank each and every one of you that attended the meeting today, it was a great success. We had roughly 50 people attend and sign up to volunteer and get involved in the campaign. For those of you that could not attend, there will be more upcoming meetings and following the jump is the agenda of what was discussed! I also would like to inform all of you that on Friday I spoke to someone in the campaign and they have informed me that paid staffers will be in the city in 1 - 2 weeks!!! This is very exciting news, the campaign is asking that anyone that is willing to house paid staffers please identify yourself by e-mailing me and I will pass your name along. Eric and I have also offered our building downtown to house the campaign headquarters and they are very, very interested. I will keep everyone informed and keep in mind the deadline for registering for the primary is April 11th, we need to get a good voter registration drive up and going. E-mail ideas and anything else that comes to mind. Click on Read More to read the agenda!
Thank you again
As I sit here, having read through every blog and news report I could find, I realized one thing: It's Time to Get to Work!!
I have to admit, I wanted to scream at the thought of the upcoming weeks, more mud being thrown, the negative adds and the ultimate damage to our Democtratic Party as a whole. But as my husband reminded me, this is an election, there are ups and downs, get over it and get to work! I felt like the girl in the Tom Hanks movie, when he declared "There's no crying in baseball".
So with all that said, It's time the get to work NC. Here in Fayetteville, I am planning a meeting on Saturday to get some volunteers organized and get some grassroots in motion. I have never done this before, and am proud to have over 60 Obama supporters signed up and I am expecting more than that!
So if this democratic nomination is going all the way to the convention, NC WILL play a role in this nomination. If Clinton is looking for a 3AM phone call let's give it to her, let's let her know that Fear Mongering does not equal credentials! But in Fayetteville specifically, we know what 3AM calls are all about, they are call green ramp to deploy to wherever in the world the proud Special Forces, 82nd Airborne and 18th Airborne Corps are needed. So we, in this city of History and Heroes, know that a call at 3AM will affect our families and friends more than most. This is a city where the national security experience of those that have served is not centered on theories or books, but on training and bullets. Let's make sure that the person that answers that call has judgement and integrity. Judgement to make the best decision and the integrity to stand by it. Her past history tells us she does have the judgement and her fear mongering tells us she does not have the integrity to stand by it.
If you feel the same fire in your politics, I invite you to join us on Saturday, let's get organized and Fayetteville NC Let's Get to Work!
Greetings to all in Fayetteville and Outlying counties,
I am pleased to announce an upcoming event here in Fayetteville! You can go to the Events section in your Dashboard for all the details and please sign up under the event so that we can have a proper attendee count! I will post an agenda over the weekend and final details later next week. I am so excited with the initial response and look foward to meeting all of you that have signed up. Have a great weekend and I encourage all of you to Phonebank over the weekend, we have four days until the next primary, let's do all we can.
Fired Up and Ready to Go in Fayetteville, NC!
I recommend everyone read this article by Juan Cole, he is the President of the Global American Institute. It is a wonderful explanation of Barack's name and the history behind his and many other revered American names. Read it and school those that use the name Hussein to invoke images of racial and religious bigotry. Beautiful article a must read!
