Jerusalem peace is tied to the peace in the Middle East. Palestinian peace is essential to the peace of Jerusalem. Even so; in a globalized environment my patriotic concern is that we seem to be travelling alongside the Samaritan road passing up the wounded and distraught if they live in Africa, or the Middle East. When I view photos of innocent civilians and victims under seized in Israel airstrikes in Gaza, the distressed expression on the faces of these children cries ‘help’! The photos show an expression of un-merit suffrage on the faces of the children. We have to care! Americans will never forget 911 terrorist attacks; henceforth, the global war on terrorism is essential for America’s national security; but; all are not terrorist, yet all is treated with superior military force as though they are terrorist; it‘s like incarcerating an entire family for a crime that one or two family members committed; now that’s cruel; and cruelty is what these children are receiving from a war they did not commit.
Nevertheless; Americans voted for ‘Change’. And when President-elect Obama made his summer Middle East tour; the international outpouring support of his presidential candidacy showed that the global community stands with 21st century Americans to impact ‘change.’ Obama’s international acclaim illustrates that the global community looks to America to maintain her sovereign moral stance and impact change in America’s foreign policies and the way we view the world in the war on terrorism. I am not a thief! But I may have a relative or two who are thieves; don’t penalize me for their crimes. All Palestinians are not terrorists, and yes! Israel national security is as precious as America’s national security. But a ceasefire is necessary; and President Bush did promise that before he left office; there would be a Peace Treaty between Israel and Palestine. President Bush; you have two more weeks to initiate the peace between Israel and Palestine; our global brothers and sisters.
