Check it out, it tells how much you will save and what the difference is between Obama and McCain's tax plans in dollars from your pocketbook.

New story on McCain Hess Corporation "Office Manager" And Her Husband Both Gave $28,500 To Elect McCain By Greg Sargent - August 4, 2008, 2:14PM As we reported below, ten Hess Corporation executives and Hess family members each gave $28,500 to the RNC's committee to elect John McCain president, just days after he reversed his previous opposition to offshore drilling. But the story gets better. It turns out that Hess executives aren't the only ones who gave such huge sums to elect McCain -- generosity towards McCain apparently extends down into lower levels of Hess staff. A lower level employee gave the same, too, and so did her husband, even though he works for Amtrak. The FEC filings show that Alice Rocchio, who's identified as a Hess office manager, and her husband, Pasquale Rocchio, who's described as an Amtrak "track foreman," each separately donated $28,500 to the RNC-McCain fund, which is called McCain Victory 2008. They gave the money on June 24th, the same day that eight other Hess execs and family members each shelled out the same amount. So the Rocchios, who live in Flushing, Queens, donated a total of $57,000 to McCain's efforts. I just reached Ms Rocchio and she insisted adamantly that the contributions were theirs. "It was my option to give," she told me. "This is my favorite candidate...I fully acknowledge that [the donation] was done by myself personally, my own doing." She added that the same went for her husband. When I pointed out that the Rocchios' job titles seemed to jar a bit with the size of their donations, Ms. Rocchio said that no one could guess the real income levels of other people. "No one knows what someone's income taxes say," she told me. Ms. Rocchio declined to say whether the contributions had been bundled by another Hess employee or who bundled them. Late Update: It should also be noted that FEC reports have no record of any Federal political contributions for the Rocchios before 2008. They both gave the maximum of $2,300 to McCain's campaign this year. Also, special thanks to TPM Reader AT for spotting this. Late Late Update: Turns out the two rent their home.
I found this through one of my groups complete with the sources. It has great information for those of you who are in contact with McCain supporters.
Just a reminder that we need to stop the lies and misrepresentation of the facts. Here is the link to the Fight the Smears page on the website. Also be sure to fact check at http://www.factcheck.org.

Having followed Presidential politics for years, I watched all the candidates speak after the New Hampshire Primary with great interest. It amazed me that the only candidate who had any real excitement and energy was Barack Obama. His speech was filled with electricity. I found myself vocally agreeing with him, giving him one sided high fives and cheering him on.
Not since Reagan have I had this excitement for a Presidential candidate. I have been a lifelong Republican and to find myself so excited and supportive of Barack Obama has even those closet to me amazed. It has made me realize that here is a candidate that can cross all boundaries, party lines, male/female, race, income, age, etc and can unify us all in the quest for change.
I read his booklet and can only hope that he is elected and that his vision for America will come to fruition. He is a visionary.
There are those who say he doesn't have enough experience, to that I respond neither did Clinton, and many other presidents. I would rather see someone who is not part of the Oldboy network in the Whitehouse than someone who feels entitled, or who views it as a political legacy and is part of the same old same old.
I love the slogan Got Hope. It's appeal is broad and for those of us who struggle everyday in this country just to make ends meet, who hold the fear in their hearts that if anything goes wrong they could be homeless or hungry and how will they survive, it rings true for so many who for so long have had no hope. It gives us hope that big business will no longer run this country and prey on the working class or poor. It gives us hope that the future might be better for our children and grandchildren. It gives us hope that we might not have a president who harbors grudges against other coutnries and will wage war on the backs and with the blood of the American people. It gives us hope that the world we see we are not greedy warmongers but part of the world community. It gives us hope that our children will get a good education. It gives us hope that maybe someday we can go visit a doctor without having to reach into our pockets and take food money to payour medical bills. It gives us hope that medical insurance companies will not continue to earn huge profits while so many are denied medical care. It gives us hope that we will decrease our dependence on big oil and that renewable resources will become more readily available and affordable. It gives us hope that we will not have our civil liberties stripped from us by a government that dominates its citizens by fear. It gives us hope that we will have jobs in the future.
HOPE, something we have long missed.
