I attended a fundraiser recently in a private home where Obama came, gave a short speech and took questions. Most of the people in the room had donated $1000 or more to attend. After a few questions, the Senator saw one of the caterers, dressed in her uniform who was picking up empty plates and glasses, had her hand raised to ask a question. He called on her and spoke to her with the greatest respect. He treated her no differently than he did any of the other guests. I was very impressed with that. He values all of us, rich or poor. You can tell a lot about a person by how he treats others. He is a man of character. We may not agree with everyting he says or does, but Obama will bring dignity back to the white house. It will be a welcome change!
First of all, if you were listening to content in the debates, Hillary spent time talking but didn't really say anything except to blame the current administration for the war in Iraq. She still continues to take no blame for her vote. Obama actually spoke of policies and how he would accomplish his goals. Yeah, he hesitated a few times, but maybe you need to hesitate to think when you are really saying something. The media immediately praised Hillary and declared her the winner. Looking at the CNN interactive poll the next day, the public overwhelmingly picked Obama as the winner.
Hillary has strong ties to big government and has received approximately 30% of her campaign money from lobbyists. (Obama has only accepted donations from individuals.) She also has strong ties with Rupert Murdock, the guy who owns much of the mainstream media. Do you think maybe that is why they speak of Hillary as if she already won? We need to let people know that the media will not pick our candidate for us. In the new politics that Obama sees for our future, we will pick our own candidate. It is up to us to work even harder to overcome the edge given to her by the media. Our task is difficult, but not impossible. It's not over til its over!! Let's not give up, but instead dig our heels in deeper and give it all we have.
I think even if Obama walked on water, the media would find a way to criticize him. First he was just a flash in the pan with no substance. Then when he laid out specifics, he was being too cerebral for the average american. I personally find it insulting that the mainstream media is essentially saying that we, the public, are too dumb to want an intelligent president. We have seen what happens when an idiot runs the country ... it isn't pretty.
Lets knock the socks off the media and surprise them with our intelligence and our will to have a government for the people for a change!
Unfortunately, the media measures success in dollars. Even if you can only give a small donation, please consider donating (or donating again) before the end of the day on June 30th. That is the end of the fiscal 2nd term and the spinners will be busy. Lets give them something to talk about!!!
It is essential that we all vote in the primary for Obama. If Hillary wins we will lose the general election. Remember ... some states require that you be a registered democrat to vote in the primary election. If necessary, change parties so you can vote. We MUST select Obama as our democratic candidate for president. It will be harder to win the primary than to win the general election. SO PLEASE VOTE!!!
I have read several articles about the information that the Obama campaign has supposedly released to discredit Hillary. It was Hillary who released the memos to the press and spread the story that "Obama is playing dirty politcs against me." HILLARY RELEASED THE MEMOS TO THE PRESS. Sounds to me like she just found a clever way to release the information that she knew would come out about her business deals and look like the victim to gain sympathy. Pay attention to the real story...she has been profiting from the same big business organizations that she denounces in her speaches. This can be verified from other sources Pretty clever on her part, but not very above board if you ask me. It is an example of why "more educated" women can't stand her...they see her for what she is...a woman greedy for power and money. She cares about Hillary more than she cares about her country.
An Educated Woman for Obama

On Saturday June 9, 2007 a group of over 70 Central Floridians took to the streets in 5 different neighborhoods for a political canvassing event that was truly the first of its kind. All of the national media outlets have reported how early it is, historically, to canvass for a primary election some 7+ months away. The 10,000 volunteers scattered across 50 states is remarkable, no doubt. Yet, as a participant I quickly realized the ground-breaking aspect of this event is not the staggering number of volunteers, but the message us volunteers clung to as we braved 90 degree hot and humid Florida air. It is a message of hope and unity. A notion that what brings us together is much stronger than what drives us apart.
Sure the 1960s and other generations have moved for change. But that change divided people further. Recently, its been worse. A growing divide and no progress in sight. The stratification of classes, illegal immigration, gay marriage, the Patriot Act, the Iraq War and questions of patriotism. Yes, the past six years have been some of our darkest political hours.
Enter Senator Barack Obama as our beacon of hope. He believes that despite his funny name, America has a place for him too. He believes that we have a stake in one another. He believes that government can't solve all of our problems, but with a slight change in priorities we can make sure every child in America has a decent shot at life. He believes that the American Dream still exists. He asks us all to listen to each other, to remember the fundamental decency in most Americans no matter if they are Republican, Democrat or Independent. He asks us to come together as one American family. He reflects the multicultural celebration of the American Dream that my generation has come to know only in history books. He wants to be our next President.
That's the message we had stuck to our clipboards this past Saturday. Thats what the Obama T-Shirt represents. We may not always agree on policy, but we remain in love with our country.
Along the way Saturday we met a lot of great people. We found tons of supporters, collected some donations, gave away bumper stickers and took active part in our experiment in Democracy. What the Walk For Change affirmed is that this campaign is about bringing people together.
Where else can you find people, young and old, short and tall, rich and poor, gay and straight, black, white asian and of mixed race socializing together on a Saturday night? In Barack Obama's America. That's where. Pundits, spinmasters, political analysts, they want to say the Obama campaign will be another Howard Dean. All internet, no action. Saturday was the first step in proving them wrong.
I can't wait to do it again.
Is it just me or is the main stream media doing everything in its power to praise Hillary and trash Obama? They keep telling us that HRC is pulling even farther ahead in the race, but I just find that hard to believe. My Statistics teacher in college told us on the first day of class to "always remember...there are lies, damn lies and statistics." A good lesson I have never forgottten. Our television media today is owned by a handful of individual who are VERY republican. Of course they want Hillary to win the primary...they know she can't win the general election. The republicans are very afraid of Obama.
With the MSM as an obstacle, we have an uphill battle to support Obama and get him elected as the next great president of our country...but it is not an impossible task. Don't listen to polls and just keep supporting and promoting the Obama campaign. Great changes can be accomplished by those of us who love this country.
We have come a long way in this country, but that doesn't mean we are there yet. Obama always speaks his mind, even if it is not what we want to hear. Many Republicans ARE racist. Look at the presidential candidates for the Republican party...as Stephen Cobert says they have every color from "eggshell to pasty white". They are ALL white men. Not surprizing when you think about it.
I have been a teacher in high school for 28 years. The schools in the neighborhoods where the students are predominately black are underfunded...equality is just not here yet. I also think (as does Obama) that a lot of predijudice is economic. He stated on one of the Sunday morning talk shows a few weeks ago, that there are many poor white children that need assistance with college tuition as well as minority children. There are many social issues in poor black neighborhoods that contribute to making it more difficult (but not impossible by any means) for children to grow up to live a more prosperous life than their parents.
The realities are there. Am I blaming anyone in particular? No. But there are problems that as a society we need to address.
I am white, but am certainly not offended when Obama or anyone else discusses issues that affect minorities. Even though we would sometimes not like to hear it, the truth is what it is and we need to discuss issues that effect our country. We are a stronger country when we care about the needs of everyone.
Finally, if Obama was speaking to any group it seems logical that he would address the issues that are important to that particular group. They would not likey be interested in hearing about issues that do not directly effect their lives. That is just common sense.
I showed this to my stepson who spent 14 months in Iraq. His one sentence comment simply and concisely said it all..."This is not what I fought for!"

I was appalled when I read it.
The VFW has spoken out about this
WASHINGTON(AP) The nation's largest combat veterans group on Friday urged the military to "exercise a little common sense" and call off its investigation of a group of Iraq war veterans who wore their uniforms during anti-war protests.
"Trying to hush up and punish fellow Americans for exercising the same democratic right we're trying to instill in Iraq is not what we're all about," said Gary Kurpius, national commander of the 2.4 million-member Veterans of Foreign Wars.
"Someone in the Marine Corps needs to exercise a little common sense and put an end to this matter before it turns into a circus," Kurpius said.
WE NEED OBAMA!!!!!!!
In order for Obama to be elected as the president, we must make sure he is a candidate in the general election. There are many republicans who would support him because they have become disillusioned with the current administration and do not see a candidate in their own party that offers a change.
I ask that you consider voting in the democratic primary, even if you have to switch parties to do so. It is vital that Obama get the nomination, or no one will have the opportunity to support him for president. Unless we want Hillary as our choice, we must act now.
