A shame that you feel that way. Perhaps you only followed Clinton because she is a woman? Women are and can be great leaders, but they should not be dividers. Barack Obama is a true leader who recognizes the special gifts each and every one of us bring to the table, without any bias whatsoever. Neither Race nor Gender should be the deciding factor in electing a President. Someday, a woman will be President. But, that woman will be elected because of her great leadership qualities and ability to unite people behind a common goal. She will not point out that she should be President because she is a woman, just as Barack Obama has not claimed he should be President because he is both male and of mixed-race.
Look deep into your heart and your conscience. Learn all you can about Barack, either by reading his books or by following the blog comments made by all these dedicated and faithful followers who have discovered that the man actually walks the talk and his heart is pure and is open to everyone.
Bottom line, Pro-Choice is NOT the same as Pro-Abortion. Pro-Choice people do not go around advocating for people to run out and have abortions.
What we’re really talking about is having a choice about reproductive health. I don’t know of anybody who gets pregnant to have an abortion. But, if the Supreme Court takes away a woman’s right to choose in any matter concerning her reproductive rights, that includes her right to use birth control. Remember the fuss only a few years ago about the Pharmacists who were refusing to fill women’s birth control prescriptions based on their religious perspectives? That is taking away a woman’s right to control her own body’s health. What if it’s unhealthy for someone to become pregnant? What if it is economically unfeasible? Abortion should be a method of last resort and people need to use better prevention – but, if an abortion is the only option for a woman, no matter the circumstances, who is to say she cannot make that choice?
