On the October 17 episode of MSNBC's Hardball, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota claimed that Barack Obama and other members of Congress share anti-American views. Bachmann thinks that anyone who disagrees with her personal political agenda is unpatriotic. But she is the one who has a lot to learn about what it means to love America. Her fellow members of Congress need to take a stand and tell Michele Bachmann that her disgusting accusations have no place in our country. Tell Congress to censure Rep. Bachmann.

The neo-cons got a head start on voting. Help tell PBS what you think about Gov Palin's qualifications to be VP.

This has been verified as factual. NOTHING has been made up.
In a Presidential Election, we look at two people, the Presidential Nominee for each Party and their choice of Vice President.
In Lee Iacoca's Book "Where have all the Leaders Gone", he mentioned a philosophy that really could change the face of politics and the election. Barack's approach this election has been "change". I think Barack could embrace this philosophy and take his team straight to the White House. So what is the philosophy/idea that Iacoca talks about? Announce your leadership team ahead of the election. Let the American People know who you will rely upon to lead our nation. (e.g. Attorney General, State, Defense, HHS, Education, Energy, Treasury etc)
Barack is getting great coverage of his overseas Foreign Policy Tour. It is great to see how the world is embracing the next President of the United States and the Republican Leadership is beginning to talk about time lines with our situation in Iraq; something Barack has been saying all along.
I have been working a Democratic Party Booth at our local country fair this week. While our intention is to get exposure for local state and county reps, the big draw is Barack Obama. I live in a relatively red county, however, Barack is doing real well here. As a matter of fact the county registrar is running a mock election for fair goers and when I left last night, Barack was leading. The Republican Booth is down the aisle form us, they get exposure as it is one of the first booths the people see when they come into our exhibit building but their crowds are nowhere near what we are drawing. They are raffling a bike, and we are raffling Barack t-shirts or a life-sized cardboard prop of Barack.
Yes we can
I promised myself I would take some time away from politics once Barack attained the status of "presumptive" nominee. My time off has expired and it is back to the grind to get Barack in the Oval Office. With that said, I am looking to find two "official" responses from Barack! One on FISO and the other a detailed response to his reaction to the Supreme Courts ruling on "gun -control"
Thanks!
As much as I hate to say it, I believe in order to secure the Presidency, I am thinking that Barack needs to ask Clinton to be his running mate. I have been scanning the blogs from every site I can possibly find. I know we as Obama supporters have done our homework and know what an Obama Presidency can do for this country, but there are segments of society who won't open the ears to listen to our message. Our two largest challenges in the GE are race and gender. Like it or not, admit it or not, race will become an issue and no matter what message Barack delivers, enculturation will be a major filter. Gender is directed towards some of the die-hard Clinton supporters (about 20% of the 15M+) who are merely looking at the glass ceiling and would clearly admit they would vote McCain if Clinton is not the nominee. I would like to see the electoral map change this year and west of the Mississippi decide the Presidency. If we could be guaranteed that, then perhaps Clinton would not be needed, but given the history of U.S. elections, we need her for the more traditional states.
Now we all know how voliatile Clinton can be, and she has said some very derogatory comments towards Barack, yet he has taken the high road in intergrity. An Obama/Clinton ticket (it would have to be mandated that Bill Clinton could not do any stumping for the Obama/Clinton ticket) would lock up the White House. Barack empowers Hillary to develop and execute the health care policy for the nation while he works on his blueprint for America. If at anytime during his administration, Clinton tries to ucerpt his authority as President, then he does one of two things; fires her or relegates her to be the President of the Senate where the only thing she does is sit and listen to the Senate all day long.
May 20th is my birthday. In lieu of going out to dinner, my party is going to be in front of the TV monitoring the results from the next primary. What a great birthday gift it would be if Barack locked up the nominee that evening.
I spent most of the morning on a Politoco.com blog labeled "Hillary wins-does anyone care?" There have been 848 posts and that blog brings out all walks of life. Lots's of anti-Obama comments as well as Clinton. Ironically though, when you challenge people on issues like Rev Wright, experience, muslim etc, they don't respond to you with facts....just something they heard someone else say. One even had the audacity to say Barack's Mom was born in Indonesia. Maybe we should give people a civics examination before we allow them to vote!
I understand why Barack draws a more educated and I it doesn't have to be formal education people to his campaign. Fo the most part, this website is a breath of fresh air. I am also enjoying listening to the progressive radio programing that is overwhemingly in support of Barack.
I understand that Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory but why do we have primaries there when the citizens of Puerto Rico can not vote in the general election.
Right now the Clinto Campaign is arguing the electability issues within certain districts of states where they were prevelant and at the same time they are arguing how much they will win Puerto Rico. Isn't that a bit hypocritical.
Tired of the pundits? Want to hear uplifting programing that is predominately proObama? While you are in blogosphere, listen live to Chicago's WCPT Progressive Talk Radio at the following link. It will be an uplifting experience.

There is no doubt, as a party, we have a lot of work ahead of us if we want to pull this party together. Passion runs deep for HRC supporters, but so does ignorance of how the primaries work. I found the following blog on her website and it is consistent with the way many of her supporters are reacting.
On ABC's Good Morning America, George Stephenapolous (sorry, can't spell) said that BO is now ahead by two Supers. They said he was behind by 60 after Super Tuesday, but as of today is ahead by two. I have no idea how this happened. They said that he is now ahead in every category needed to win and that he will be the nominee. What about MI and FL? What about the states left to vote? It makes me sick.

It now becomes obvious that taking "Civics" out of the elementary and junior high school curriculum a few decades ago has onece again led to the dumbing down of America's citizens.
To all of my fellow bloggers, let's follow the example of the next President Of the United States and take the high road for the remainder of this primary period. We all know the MSM will spin and spin and get the populus going. For the time being, they are being pretty pro-Obama, but just remember what is was like two weeks ago. Let's make committment to be positive, no attacks on HRC, her followers or the media.
I spent the last several days on HRC's site just to get a flavor of the feeling over there. First of all, Obama's site is much more user friendly and while we get an ocassional troll, we tend to keep a good debate going. Over there, you can only post positive pro Clinton posts. If you try to debate, you are censored and your post does not make it. HRC's supporters are very passionate about their candidate, but not for the same reasons we are passionate about Barack. We can discuss genuine issues here.
Let's commit to talk the issues, talk about our candidate and what an Obama Presidency will look like. Leave the spin for the MSM and Clinton supporters. We know who the Democratic nominee will be.
We aren't expecting any great news with WV and KY. It would be nice to close the gap and that is all we can ask for.
Yes We Can
Not on Obama's website. As much as we sometime dislike the trolls and racists who apear here, at least they have an opportunity to speak their mind. I have posted several intelligent counter-arguments to some of the HRC supporters on her web-site and not one single post has appeared. When you post here, it immediately appears. When you post on HRC's site, I guess the post is screened and opposition posts are not afforded an opportunity to be seen. The HRC Blog page reminds me of that movie "Stepford Wives" they are all robots regurgitating party lines with no benefit for debate.
Thank you Obama campaign for running a great forum to communicate.
Tim Russert hosts Barack Obama for an entire hour this Sunday morning on Meet The Press. If you know of people who may be on the fence, this will be an excellent venue to assist in their fact gathering. In my view, Tim Russert is one of the better journalist in the Main Stream Media.
