MoveOn.org is running another contest for citizen-produced ads, and this one is called "Obama in 30 Seconds." While I'm sure there will be many more impressive entries, I thought it would be worth featuring a short segment of Obama's speech that I filmed when he was in Newark last fall ... where Obama explains that he can't do it alone, because "this is your government ... " and a woman in the audience yells out: "We're the deciders!" Some animated stills and Photoshop magic spark up the visuals.

Voting in the contest takes place from April 21 through April 27, 2008. Ads will be presented to viewers randomly, so you may or may not come across this one. But if you see it (and like it!), your favorable ratings will be much appreciated!

Asking Obama to Lead Us Out of Iraq - Now.

Now that magical September is upon us, and the surge has had limited military effect (depending if you believe any of the numbers the Administration is offering) ... it's clear that it's had zero effect in terms of the Iraqis creating peaceful political solutions for themselves. It's long past time for the U.S. to disengage militarily, and to bring home ALL the troops without further delay. I'm looking for strong leadership from Senator Obama on this front.

Paul Krugman's column in the NY Times today is dead-on:

Voters are exasperated with the Democrats, not because they think Congressional leaders are too liberal, but because they don’t see Congress doing anything to stop the war.

Senator Obama: Support the troops, bring them home!

Ask Senator Obama to vote NO on blank check for Iraq war

I'm hoping Senator Obama will show real leadership and vote NO on the blank-check Iraq funding bill now before Congress. This is a serious test of Democratic leadership ... and the stand candidates take on this critical matter will certainly help determine who I support for 2008.

Just Say No to Fox News Democratic Debates - Nevada for starters

Senator Obama has wisely steered clear of the Faux News Network since it is a central player in the right-wing noise machine.

I sincerely hope that he will also refuse to participate in any Fox-hosted Democratic debates, such as the one the Nevada Democratic Pary unfortunately suckered themselves into. John Edwards has already indicated he will not participate. Senator?

This issue is being widely covered by digby, kos and others.
