Online Petition for Request for Release of Records
By

This is a petition for everyone who would like to have the benefit of evaluating Senator Clinton's role as First Lady and advisor to President Clinton during his terms. Evidently, there are records that have been sealed and are not scheduled to be released to the public until well after this election. However, I believe a formal request should be made to the President to reconsider this or provide us with definitive information as to why this date cannot be changed, in light of his role in this election and his assertions that she is the best candidate based on her judgment and experience. We should be entitled to come to this conclusion for our selves based on all of the facts and information that is available for consideration. If we can evaluate Senator Obama's Illinois Senate records, we should be able to evaluate all records of Senator Clinton including those involving her role as First Lady. If we can't, then we should only be able to hold her U.S. Senate terms as the basis of record for evaluating her experience and judgment.

A Request to Address "Ready from Day 1"
By
Clotelle from Mableton, GA
- Jan 16th, 2008 at 12:22 pm EST
I am writing to express my hope that Senator Obama will address Senator Clinton's insistent stance on her readiness from “day one”. Now, please let me first say that I don't believe it is necessary nor is it prudent to attack Senator Clinton on this issue, but I feel respectful yet firm distinctions must now be drawn. I certainly admire Senator Clinton's confidence in what she believes she is able to do as our next President, but it is greatly based on her husband's presidential and gubernatorial terms in office. She has never been an executive officer at the state or federal level and we all know that she is gleaning from her experience as First Lady as the best capable in making these type of executive decisions. I believe Senator Clinton is most assuredly an accomplished public servant, but she is no more accomplished than Senator Obama and there is no affront in pointing that out. I also believe her presence in politics is most worthy of deference and she has undoubtedly served this country with distinction. However, the issues and the heydays of the 90's have long since gone by. She has not been "tested" on any of the issues that we face as a nation. She is just as vulnerable on the issue of testability concerning our enemies just like Senator Obama would be, when elected as Commander-in-Chief if an act of terror were to take place. However, the first yet critical, test for her to make the right judgment in response the wake of war as result of 911, she actually failed with her vote to invade Iraq. Senator Obama got it right from “day one” and he did not have the benefit of all of the intelligence estimates and counsel that a sitting U.S. Senator would have been afforded. She is no more prepared for the tests of the Presidency than Senator Obama. This is a fact. I believe out of deference and more so now, courtesy to Senator Clinton, we as democrats have allowed this proposition to go unchallenged. I believe this is a fundamental mistake and is truly not in the best interests of our country. I sincerely appreciate Senator Obama’s commitment to keeping this campaign free from mudslinging, but we all believe in him and his ability to fight for the truth and to speak it to power and this is what distinguishes him from the other candidates. This is what he is going to have to do once he is in the White House in order to unify this country and bring about the serious changes that he has pledged to do. His moment is, as he has so poignantly put it, “now” and I have not one bit of doubt that a man of his brilliance and integrity can truthfully, skillfully, yet tactfully put this issue to rest. Please join me in asking the campaign strategists and management to directly address this issue with Senator Obama. Thank you!
