Southern Californians for Obama
hey everyone! I just discovered that the Pasadena Star-News carries Ann Coulter's column. As many of you know, she called John Edwards a fa**** at a major conservative political conference. It is so totally unacceptable that any presidential candidate could be disrespected and that such schoolyard verbal tactics could be considered even remotely acceptable.
how about contacting the star-news and telling them that we support Barack Obama, but that attacks like those that Coulter made against any candidate are disgusting and we want them to stop carrying her column. a number of newspaper's have already dropped her column over this. Let's not let the Star-News be left behind. Please be respectful of whomever you write or contact.

Hey,
I thought this was woth pointing out. On the website mydd.com , which is one of the largest democratic "netroots" blogs, Obama came out as the #1 candidate. This is a huge indication of where the strong support and excitement in at least one active part of the democratic part is.

I was wondering how the event at Zephyr's went last night, sorry that I couldn't make it. Feel free to use the comments to discuss. I am looking forward to Tuesday in LA with Barack himself!! Then Thursday night to discuss further.

I keep hearing people say that they want Barack to ask his members to "do something". I hope that he will, but I don't want to see him start hurrying to do anything. look at this amazing website and all of these tools. I am still figuring out where everything is.
I just heard that there are 70,000 people signed up. As soon as we get over 100-200 thousand people, there is going to be some really big opportunities.
What do you all think? What should be Barack's first big show of support. Perhaps a big rally in a couple months? an audacious fundraising goal? community service day?

I want to thank Lonnee for starting this group. I think that we have a lot opportunity to support this campaign. I look forward to the event on the 22nd. It should be fun.
I am so excited that Barack is running! 6 months ago, I would barely let myself consider the possibility.
Let's get this started!!!!

Next Steps

Ok Pasadenans & Altadenans,
I see that someone has started a group for us which is excellent. I hope that we start talking soon about what we are ready to do and what is the best use of the time and energy that people in a blue state with (currently anyway) a late primary. Of course if they move CA's primary up, then the most important thing is to make sure that Obama wins our primary, and does so with a large margin. If we are a late primary then perhaps our efforts go somehow into supporting the campaign at large and it strategy in other states.
I look forward to meeting and talking to others that want to see Barack Obama as our next president.

Let's get started!

Thank you Barack!
I can't say how excited I am about having a democratic candiatidate that I am not just willing to support but expremely excited to support.
If Barack can do what it takes to run fo rpresident, then I can write a blog.
I want to explore what I can do with others in Pasadena, CA to get him nominated and then elected president. California is a funny place for supporting a presidential candidate, since it is never competitive in the general election, an too late to make a difference in the primaries.
So, fellow Pasadenans, what are we going to do to do our part?
