In case you missed it, the DNCC has posted a little tutorial called "Convention 101" at their website:
http://www.demconvention.com/convention-101/
It's not extensively detailed but it's useful.
After I saw this AP story at Yahoo, I decided to take a quick look at the delegates.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/campaign_delegates;_ylt=Apo5gJ6l1LlSUsiv85lNtd6s0NUEhttp://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Obama_takes_early_lead_in_race_for_delegates
On the heals of Tom Hayden's great article in The Nation, titled "Why Hillary Clinton Makes My Wife Scream", another insightful article into Hillary Clinton and her "appeal" to some people comes along. This article is by Steve Chapman of The Tribune Co. and it is titled "Clinton's Endearing Fictions". You can find Chapman's article at Real Clear Politics:

Another "must read" opinion piece from the Financial Times. Let me just quote the third paragraph of the column titled "The strategic dilemma that stalks Clinton's prey" by Edward Luce:
Welcome to what Hillary Clinton famously called the "Republican attack machine". Except that it is Mrs Clinton who is operating the controls. Graciously pointing out that she is giving Mr Obama a dress rehearsal of what he would have to go through later this year were he the presidential nominee, Mrs Clinton has borrowed liberally from the jugular tactics of Karl Rove - George W. Bush's electoral maestro.
The California Democratic party just started sending out information on the post-primary caucuses that are coming up this Sunday. Hopefully, everyone will be getting their own copy in their inboxes but just in case, I wanted to repeat it here.

Yesterday, April 6th, my wife and I were fortunate enough to attend the fundraising event for Senator Obama at the beautiful home of Nancy and Bob Farese in Kentfield. I didn't know what to expect as neither my wife nor I had ever attended an event like this. We were never involved in a political campaign before but, as we all know, circumstances are such that we must participate.
I won't waste your time on the trivialities but I would like to share my impression of what it was like to see him in person, actually ask him a question and shake his hand, face to face. All three experiences give a person a measure of a candidate that is not available via our modern media.
Yesterday, I heard a program with a story that encapsulated in 30 minutes why this country desperately needs new leadership. The piece starts innocently enough but by the time I came to the conclusion, I was experiencing the emotions of frustration, anger and sadness. For over two-hundred-plus years we have built a great nation based on the checks and balances, the rule of law and compromise -- this has gone out the window.
No government is perfect but in the last 7 years our government has been run by a cadre of ideologues intent on dismantling (often by fiat) those aspects of the government that it deems contrary to their ideology. Yesterday, Chicago Public Radio's This American Life produced in one episode, titled "The Audacity of Government," a stunning example of how this administration is doing exactly that -- treaties and legistlation, be damned.
This is Susan Nutter's campaign resume; I am including it here for the benefit of those in CD1:
Susan Nutter has been the Coordinator for Mendocino Coast Democrats for Obama since April 2007 and her organization resulted in 53% voting for Obama on the Coast, which helped carry the County (49%) and the Congressional District (47%) for an Obama win.
