I'm an Independent, will always be so. I do not agree with strict party rules. My hubby was a FIERCE Republican. Agreed with George Bush totally. I am Pro Military, Pro Israel, but I believe in a Womans right to choose.
My daughter is a Republican, my son is a Democrat.
Then along comes Barack Obama, turns my household topsy turvey. Both my children are gone from the nest, but know I support Barack.
My son sings my accolades in the street, he's singing Baracks goodness (as he says) all over the streets of Seattle.
My daughter, switched to Hillary,
My hubby dislikes Hillary to a point that I cannot convey here. He would most definitely vote McCain if she was on the ticket as either the candidate or VP.
We suffered through the 90's. Apparently everyone else was doing well, but we weren't. I had a child with severe allergies, think bubble boy. I scraped pennies from my couch to get him medicine.
My hubby is well educated, I'm educated. My daughter is a Penn State Grad, My son is Network Engineer in Seattle. But....
The so called greatness of the 90's is a myth. Only the Wall Street people got rich. Bill Clintons raising of the minimum wage only meant that after me working for two years in my job, meant that my company wouldn't give me a raise because his wage increase was enough. So there I was a supervisor and making the same as the trainees I had to help.
But Barack comes along. And he gives us hope... Well hope is great... but what's the plan? Then I read it. He's not going to hurt me like the Clintons did. He's going to honestly help me use my education and my experience to make sure that I don't get slammed down like I was before.
Finally my daughter sees this, and says, "wow, he's intelligent"
But my poor Republican hubby, finally had enough with his die hard stand on the "right" and told me, "I can't take anymore of this GWB crap, Barack has a plan, and if he follows it, God help us, he better follow it, I am voting for HIM.
For the first time in his 51 years on the planet, he is voting Democrat.
I've tried for a month now. I'm trying to respond to people that trash Obama, I can't get beyond Moderation. I use NO negative wording as in calling Hillary a B or anything remotely connected to it.
I've emailed them several times. Hmmm makes ya wonder.
