Charles Mauro's Blog
George W. and the Economy
Just my opinion and i could be wrong.

This blog is just my views on the world and the economy at this point. We have to start with people like our vice president and president. This country for the past 8 years has been run on fear. We as a people have been affraid of the Bin Laden and the Al Qaeda, that fear to me has been a smoke screen. This fear has allowed W. do outrageous things to us. A Patriot Act. A war on terms that we the public thought we were going there to attack our terrorists. Who really made out from this war? Have we achieved anything to make our country or even the world a better place? Who got rich? What really has ruled the world for the past 2008 years? If we can spend ridiculous amounts of money on this war then why cant we find a different source of energy or maybe put people back to work? What was George Bush's background? Oil? Dick cheney= halliburton. I work in construction and i am not the most educated but i am street smart. I can smell a cop and a rat from a mile away. The economy huh, my view is that for every joe the plummer there are 100 charlie the laborer. Joe the plummer will pocket 200 grand or more while his employe might only pocket 50000 or maybe less. I understand he worked hard and did what he had to make it in this world but something should give. I have done many jobs, i did retail for a year and a half and i started making 8.00 and they waited 1 year to give me a raise. They would mess with my hours, i worked 12 hours one week. Who was there to speak up for me? The job could do what they want to me cause i had no one to speak up for me. I had to get another job and work 12 hours in one day just to keep my place. Empty refigerator. I lost 20 pounds that year. I have done hard labor. Risked my life on a roof for 10 dollars an hour cash. The guy did not even know my name so if i fell he just have left me in the dumpster and i would have been found the next day maybe. There are no certain rules in our job force and there is no one enforcing them. People would rather save a buck than make sure everyone is safe. Right now I work in Labor Union and I love it. If i get hurt my family will still be fed. I have future and not just a paycheck. I work hard but I am nicely awarded for my services. I have people that can look out for my best interest. This needs to be perfected like Mr. Obama was saying at his acceptance speech. But if history has taught me anything, it is that we can do anything we want in this world as long as we are willing.
