As a retired teacher, I have more time than many to give to the Obama campaign. I've been actively involved in the campaign since Nov. 2007. Last month I volunteered to become the team coordinator for my very red county in Northern California. We are growing our team daily...let's make Tehama County Obama country!!
Why Vote for Obama for President?

I wanted to include a one page handout in our voter registration kits, so that undecided voters could learn a little about Se. Obama in a quick read. I couldn't find any simple one page hand outs online, so I created one appropriate to my county. I've included it below in case it is helpful to anyone needing a similar hand out:
Why Vote for Sen. Barack Obama for President?
Experience- Sen. Obama has more than 20 years experience in public service. He has worked as a community organizer, an Illinois State Senator and a U.S. Senator. He has an impressive record of working across party lines to help pass many important pieces of legislation. In addition, he has worked as a civil rights attorney and a professor of U.S. Constitutional law.
The Economy- Sen. Obama has detailed plans to cut income taxes by $1,000 for working class families, to eliminate tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans, to fight for fair trade to keep jobs in the USA, to help homeowners by cracking down on fraudulent lenders, to
invest in US manufacturing to create jobs, to name a few.
The War in Iraq- Sen. Obama has spoken out against the war continually since 2002. He has a detailed plan to end the war and start bringing our troops home once he is in office.
Healthcare- Sen. Obama's national healthcare plan makes available guaranteed, affordable healthcare to all Americans, including the self-employed and small business owners.
National Security- Sen. Obama has many detailed plans to ensure national security. These include ending the war in Iraq to free the military to seek out and find Bin Laden, rebuilding the military by providing them with the best equipment and training (while also providing them with adequate rest between missions and first class medical treatment once back home) and Obama seeks to work hard to avoid future military action by being willing to meet with
friends and foe abroad to work out conflicts diplomatically, instead of jumping to war.
Energy and the Environment- Sen. Obama has detailed plans to reduce our dependence on foreign oil, to invest in clean energy and green jobs (helping both the environment & the economy), and to reduce carbon emissions, just to name a few.
Campaign Finance- Sen. Obama's campaign is financed solely by the American people. 90% of his donations come from small donations of less than $200, the other 10% comes from wealthier Americans. NONE of his campaign money comes from lobbyists or PACs, so he will go to the White House with no obligations to big business. His only obligation is to the American people.
These are just a few of the many, many reasons to vote for Senator Barack Obama for President of the United States.
