Dear President Obama:
I am writing to urge you to please select Dr. Dean to head the Cabinet post for which Mr. Daschle was previously considered.
I understand that there is some reason that you dislike Dr. Dean, but I cannot see how you can overlook the fine work he did in heading up the DNC. At least he moved it pretty much out of the hands of the DLC which had been selecting our candidates and then shoving them down our throats.
I cannot believe that YOU do not like Dr. Dean. I am sure that it is Rahm Emmanuel whe dislikes the Dr. because Rahm was furious when Dean took over the DLC and prevented their heavy-handed measures, since Rahm was very involved with the DLC (along with Nancy Pelosi). Rahm wants to be considered the Kingmaker. He is obnoxisous and I hope that you will soon fire him or find some other way to get him out of your way.
If you can select a conservative pay-or-player like that last Republican you just selected for the third cabinet post, then you can certainly select a loyal Democrat like Dr. Dean for such an important post.
BTW, how is it any different for this Republican Gregg to barter for who gets his seat in the Senate when it is against the law for Blagoevich to try to make the same deal? There is so much hypocridsy going on in government no wonder any of us believe in you guys anymore.
I can only wonder if everyone else has been required to confirm their account following their first post on their personal blog? I posted a blog entry which expressed my disgust with the behavior of Rahm Emmanuel and when I went to make a second post several days later, I was required to get a confirmation number from my mailbox and hurridly type it into a box before being admitted to my blog again. Fotunately, I was able to do so.
Is this required of everyone or just anyone who criticizes certain members of the administration?
A committee is belatedly interviewing a nominee for the position of Inspector General to OVERSEE THE LEGAL USE OF THE 700 BILLION.
This guy's name is Neil Barofsky and he is as weak as a wet noodle. He cannot answer with any confidence just how he would go about questioning Paulson or anyone else and it is his job to go back and find out how Paulson spent the 290 Billion he has given to his friends already. He already seems scared of his own shadow.
The Dems so far seem to like this guy. It is the Repubs who are giving him the hell he deserves. No wonder we are in such a shit pot with leaders like these. Everyone is in it for self and what they can get later when they are out of office.
That shimoza Paulson FORCED money on banks who DID NOT EVEN WANT IT AND HAD RECOURSE TO MONEY FROM OTHER PLACES. What game is he playing...How to win friends and influence people? Paulson seems to be setting himself up so that when he is out of office there will be thousands of bankers and financial officers who WILL OWE HIM BIG TIME and he can set himself up as a modern day Medici.
How dare Dodd and Barney Frank head up the gift of 700 billion to this billiard-ball-headed thief and then start crying when he gives the money to his friends and he and Bernanke refuse to tell the Congress who received this money and how much?
Now that Obama has been elected, Dodd and Frank have the mandate to do much more so why are they continuing to be so scared?
These legislative hearings are just so much crap!
The newsletter www.alternet.org has an article today stating that Sen. Obama's team believes he will win in a landslide. I began this blog a couple weeks ago and entitled it "Obama in a Landslide!" because unless it is a win in such numbers as to be considered astronomical, the GOP will find a way to steal the election. That is why I encourage all of those who are physically able to get out and encourage others to vote for Senator Obama.
I also believe that this financial crisis is a distraction and if we give full attention to it THE GOP WILL STEAL THE ELECTION.
If we give full attention to the election, THE CORPORATE LOBBY AND THEIR FRIENDS, THE CROOKED POLITICIANS WHO ARE PUSHING THIS BAILOUT ON US WILL TOTALLY ELIMINATE THE U.S. TREASURY.
WE MUST GIVE FULL ATTENTION TO BOTH!
I wish that Sen. Obama would expand his from the "Bottom Up" campaign economy rehtoric to include this Bailout or Rescue problem for the United States. Give the Bailout Money to the People and let them spend it in America!
I firmly believe that it would be far more beneficial to give several thousands of dollars to individual American citizens to enable them to pay mortgages, credit card and other loans and to purchase necessities, this would liquidify the economy much faster and more safely than giving an entire lump sum to those who stole the money in the first place.
There is absolutely NO GUARANTEE that giving Paulson, Bernanke and their posses control over this large a sum of money (even if it is in increments) is going to solve the problem. There is NO PROOF THAT THEY WILL NOT STEAL ENORMOUS SUMS OF THIS MONEY ALSO.
Who are the foreign countries that have their hands out for part of this money?
The fact that our own Democratic leaders, Pelosi, Dodd, Reid and Frank are pushing this economic terrorism on us is disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach.
After Obama had said, "I agree with John" for the umpteenth time, I began to feel that perhaps I should vote for McCain if he was right on so many issues that even Obama agreed with. True to Democratic style and form, Obama was not the fighter, just as Kerry did in 2004. Not very much backbone shown on Obama's side and believe me, I am a true supporter. But why did he give in to McCain and agree with him so damned much?
Obama MUST show how he DISAGREES with McCain instead of agreeing with him.
Obama must win in a landslide to keep the election from being stolen.
Or are we all just writing to relieve the tension we feel as we come closer to Nov. 4?
Frankly, I do not choose to be drawn into little arguments about Sarah Palin and her lies. Everything about her is a distraction that gives the msm something exciting to write about, since up to the point that she joined the race, McCain had become increasingly more and more boring.
The only voice we liberals have on msm is that of Keith Olberman. We shall soon see how Rachel Maddow turns out.
