MEDICARE..NIGHTMARE The need for REFORM

The cost of health care is too high. The medicare system is being abused by all of the services that are payed by it. I would say that it would be equvalent to the government being charged $500.00 for a toilet seat that can be purchased for $35. This issue will be a hard one to solve . One solution is to follow the lead of blue cross blue shield who I think does a better job Of monitoring payments issued out to doctors and services. Of coures some of these services are needed but a better monitoring system has to be created and in place. First you would need a team of medical experts to evaluate all medical conditions, their cures, or remidies, Create a new department, Kind of like the IRS FOR MEDICAL PAYMENTS specificly for monitoring all bills being payed to doctors and services. Most patients dont know enough about medical issues to challenge a doctors advice,or course of treatment.Because many doctors know this AND MANY DOCTORS ARE IN IT TO MAKE MONEY FIRST,they wont admit it. They use a cash cow called Medicare that doesnt have the monitoring system to question bills sent. too many loop holes that only another doctor can question.Their are many remidies that can cost less but wont bring profit to the doctor...The doctor is more likely to choose the one that brings more profit Why is health care costing more?, because the doctors are charging more. Why are doctors Charging more ? Because they can get away with it and do.When I look at some of the bills that go to medicare for my mothers illnesses I am shocked at what doctors and associated service,Xrays, etc are charging.
Would it be cheaper to educate the public on how to take care of ones own medical issues. A Telephone line manned by govt. trained doctors armed with human diagnostic computor programs to evaluate and recommend over the phone.(Its within the reach of todays technoligy) Translate the doctors medical terms so the public can understand it Use laymens terms.self diagnostic patient interactive programs. If it doesnt exist create it. Type in an aillment and you get a cure and course of action to help heal yourself,
. Stop charging for infomation when it comes to health care.
I see info mercials all the time making health care claims, are they viable? Investigate, If thier claims are legite make them availible to the public. If they are not shut them down.It might be more cost effective for the govt. to counter false adds and cures by posting the truth over the internet, or tv. Rather than have a costly court battle. Also concider this, some illnesses and conditions are envirnmentaly induced.
REMEMBER THIS: Our envirnment includes That which we see in commercials, tv. radio. They do HAVE AN IMPACT ON ONES LIFE AND LIFE STYLE.
THE GOVT. SHOULD HOST ITS OWN HEALTH STATION,WITH CURES FOR THE COMMON CONDITIONS

LOOKED UP TO AND PROMOTED AS STARS, GLORIFIED AS BEING A WAY OF LIFE THAT MANY YOUTH TRY TO BE LIKE. WITH CLOTHING TO MATCH, MARKETED AND SOLD. BOUGHT BY PARENTS WHO WANT THEIR KIDS TO KEEP UP WITH THE LATEST TRENDS IN CLOTHING,, BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING PRESSURED BY THEIR KIDS WHO WANT TO BE LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE...MUSIC PLAYED ON THE RADIO ,TV, MTV, MUSIC AWARDS ETC. First of all im a nieghbor, of the mother of Blair Holt.We grew up together in the same nieborhood. I am not a perfect person . No one is. BUTThier are too many of our children being killed by other children. Why does this happen? It happens because many of our children have been infuenced by a fad culture that has glorified and lagitimized a gang culture, which has had a very destructive effect on our niebohoods here in Chicago and many other places in the U.S. Do you know how hard it is for a child to go against a popular trend with most of thier peers. In order to survive most parents are at work.Even if they wanted to, they would have to risk thier jobs to stay at home or devote enough time and energy to offset the influence of popular culture.These trends are established and reinforced by companies who make a lot of money creating and selling the latest trend.The parents of these young kids who are in gangs, have missed the oportunity to stop thier children from growing up accepting a destructive trend that makes money for a few and leaves the victoms lifes in turmoil. with hate in thier hearts, and the lack of respect for anothers life. Parents are Too busy at work, in poverty, fathers not there, gangs took over, I did the best I could, can no longer be an excuse. Me, you, us, them, we,the parents are the only ones that can stop this circle of violence. Check your children when they are young and they wont grow up killing other children. Watch what they are being influenced by. Watch who they are being influenced by. Know who the friends are they hang with. use your influence, to influence thier friends and other children. Know what your child is up to and who they are hanging with when they are not at home Dont let children raise children. Work together as a group when they are young, sacrifice if you have too, because the next child that is killed might be your own,killed by your nieghbors child. Or youll be explaining why your child killed someone else.Stop depending on the police or govt. to do our jobs after the fact.We as parents are always responsible for how our children turn out.

BUT WHAT IF ITS AN ENVIRNMENTAL ISSUE?.

ITS NOT THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM... THE SOLUTION IS WITHIN US AS PARENTS

Have you ever noticed that in the most deprived nieborhoods or schools, there is always a success story, a child that succeeds despite the odds.The government and tax payers provide the public school system. The school supplies the information and knowledge, just like a library makes available thousand of books on thousands of topics...

Its up to us as parents to Instill the drive in our children to go after it . You can put your child in the best of schools and supply a million dollars to go with him or her and that child can still fail. In many of of our black neiborhoods our children have to fight harder to maintain a since of purpose for the pursuit of knowledge, to offset the peer pressure of the many students who may not take the pursuit of knowledge seriously . Our children will automatically adapt to the social environment of thier peers to fit in and feel accepted, if the support at home is not stronger. In certain neiborhoods, black or white, the accepted culture can motivate a child to achieve scholastically or achieve acceptance by being popular with the in crowd, that may be the best gang member who gets all the girls. The main reason my son has been successful was not the school ,it was me who supported him as he resisted the status quo to achieve scholastic acceptance. which was not an easy thing to do. Once I stepped up to the plate as a concerned parent, the only thing I needed was the school to supply the curriculum
I'm a single dad, I've been with my son since before birth. That's him and his self portrait. I talked to him while he was still in his mothers womb. Seconds after birth he recognized my voice opened his eyes and smiled at me while reaching out. I raised my son as a single father since he was three. That's him next to the D.N.A. model we worked on together. That's also him at three years old at the end of the video.

Possible Solutions to failing public shools

I live in the city, an African American neighborhood, where their is a lack of fathers present to support and guide their children.
THE DECLINE OF THE TRADITIONAL BLACK FAMILY
This is not just a problem that is all the fault of black fathers . The divorce rate, The laws that support woman's rights over mens rights.when it comes to children, and who has to pay child support. the government has traditionally supported mothers in thier quest to raise the children. Forcing many fathers out of the picture only to be financial providers. Many of those black fathers were discriminated out of a job. or the job owners moved to the suburbs. Many women changed thier perspective about allowing the man to be the man of the house ., making the easier choice of divorce, child support, and a new boy friend and public aid. As you can see thier are alot of cause and effect issues that plague our black families and communities. This battle between who is going to be the leading influence in a child's life has seriously effected our black families and have manifested in what we see today.
One of our biggest mispeceptions is that its the school alone that will make our chidlren successful.

I sacrificed jobs and money to personally walk my son thru his formative years. I really felt all alone, mostly mothers and their children. Many without fathers present in their lives. I sacrificed also dating because I felt it would distract me from my double duties. His mother was not available. Many mothers overwhelmed me with their request for me to be there for their children and be a good influence for their sons too. Where were their fathers ? Some working, some not there. I reluctantly turned the mothers down because, they were not willing to make the same sacrifices. They were not aware of the some of the issues and beliefs I was instilling in my son that were absent in their lives. Not only did I not have time or extra to sacrifice ,but trying to combine the up bringing of my child, as a single father and help with their children, while working a full time job, would have been too much for me to handle . Because he was an only child I took on the roll of being father, mother, brother, and friend.
I taught him computers before kindergarten, and stayed close to him all along the way as he maintained an A average. He graduated from grammar school Valedictorian 3.9 average. I was so proud of him and glad I made the sacrifice.
He's a junior in high school now, and so far we're beating the odds.......Now college ,,,,some how I'm going to pull that off too.

My son is now a senior in high school, and recently achieved a 26 on his A.C.T.

I've recently become unemployed, and have been faced with one of the worst years, 2008, in my life . My mother who has helped support my efforts has been plagued with serious illnesses and put me in a position that has compromised several jobs.in my efforts to help her.
I'm hoping that with grants and other help we can together make a way for him to get a busness degree.
My struggle as a single Black father continues, my successes are due to the sacrifices that I and others have made, and the public programs that our society has offered. Without the equal opportunity , discrimination, International bachelorate, and other .programs that have helped to even the playing fields, it may have been alot harder or impossible to make it this far.

The USSMP are designed to stimulate a positive motivational learning atmosphere. This concept for the inner city schools, makes the students, parents, and teachers partners in a group effort. As most of us with children have noticed, The Public school system has a lack of enthusiasm from students, teachers and parents. Many efforts have been made to improve the grade point averages of America’s inner city youth, with little progress. ,.
The teachers say it is the parents and students,
The parents Say it is the teachers and school system.
Others say it is a lack of finances.
Well, I say it’s a lack of motivation in the Right areas.
OUR CHILDREN CAN BE MOTIVATED IN A POSITIVE WAY TO PURSUE THIS KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION THE SAME WAY COMMERCIALS, ADVERTISERS, AND THE MEDIA GET PEOPLE TO, BUY THEIR PRODUCTS, TO WEAR THE LATEST FASHIONS, AND FOLLOW THE LATEST TRENDS, ETC.
MARKETING STRATEGIES
In today’s society most households in the inner city, have either a single parent working, or both parents working to maintain the basic standards of living.
With the single parent or both parents working fulltime, there is little time or energy left to create and sustain a productive environment for their children.
It is well known that a child forced to learn will not excel as well as child that is positively motivated.
Most children do not understand the importance of acquired knowledge.
To them it is something that has to be done, something forced upon them by their parents.
Many will realize the importance of a good education only after they become adults.
How do we insure they get this knowledge?
We as parents and teachers must motivate, teach, coerce, reward, support+, get involved and do whatever is necessary to deliver to our children the knowledge they need.
What I am talking~ about is triggering~ in our children the will, the need, and the reasons to want to learn.
There is an enthusiasm that is within every child. But it is misguided ~and wasted in areas that have no substantial, Long~ term payback for their futures.
Our children are constantly being influenced more by the media and peer pressure than with the public school system and parents.
The results of this are low grade point~ averages and a lack of enthusiasm for learning the things that would most benefit their futures as well as ours.
It is a well known fact that the media has no problem ~getting~ our children’s undivided ~attention. Music, fashions, gangs, video games, television etc., all seem to have more influence on the direction of our youth than parents and the school system.
Yes, our children are being motivated in very big Way. But this motivation is not leading or benefiting~ our children in a positive direction.
These strong motivational factors (marketing strategies) are being used to benefit those who only seek financial gain for themselves. Very little is being recirculated to benefit our children’s’ education and their future.
We all start off in life compared to a brand new computers with little or no information in it. We are capable of ~absorbing and storing vast amounts of information. We all have short term and long term memory banks within our brains in which we store surface information and permanent information.
Depending on the strength of influence that information has on us, determines whether we retain it or not.
The importance of education, if not instilled in our children, will become trivial information compared to the Excitment of new toys, fads, fashions, TV programs, movies and music.
All of these things to most children are far more important than Math, English, Science, Engineering, and Business etc.
If a child is exposed to learning two different subjects on his own such as Math and video games,the child would learn more about the video games at a faster pace, with more enthusiasm than he would Math.
This is because one is more exciting or stimulating.
Most children do not understand the need for complicated Math problems. The need that is there is not generated from the child’s understanding of why it should be used.
There involvement is more than likely a forced issue. His Parents demand that he perform in these areas for which he may have little interest.
With these factors in mind, I would like to introduce to the public and media a new organization called
UNITED SCHOLASTIC STUDENT MOTIVATIONAL PROGRAMS
(USSMP)
The main goal of USSMP will be to use the same
marketing strategies and motivational tactics used by the mass media and commercials to stimulate our children and get their undivided attention;
Utilizing these strong motivational forces and marketing strategies to create an ENVIRONMENT in and around our schools.
This will trigger an enthusiasm for learning that has long been lost.
THAT’S RIGHT MAKE IT EXCITING AND STIMULATING TO GO TO SCHOOL BY ADDING A SEPARATE INDEPENDENT NON FOR PROFIT ORGANIZATION SPECIFICALLY CREATED AS A SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR PARENTS AND TEACHERS.
THE SOLE PURPOSE OF U.S.S.M.P. IS TO MAKE PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND ALL SUBJECTS AND CLASSES, STIMULATING, EXCITING, FUN AND REWARDING, WITHOUT ADDING MORE WORK FOR THE TEACHERS

Example #1:SCHOLASTIC WARRIORS COMPETITION(SWC)In this program the students involved would be refurred to as Scholastic Warriors. After each marking period the Scholastic Warriors Competition can be held in a school gym or auditorium.Scholastic Warriors competition Rules. 1.The only students ~allowed to participate in these games will be the students recommended by their teachers withparental consent.2. The suggested students should only be those who have maintained high grade point averages and good conduct. Also those students who have made substantial Progress in these areas. (Ds to Bs & Cs to As etc.)1. The Scholastic Warriors games should be conducted after each markingperiod to honor those students who have ~achieved the set scholastic goals.The Scholastic Warrior games should be conducted Similar to the way basketball games are held, charging an admission fee. ~.The Scholastic Warrior teams can be funded as basket ball teams or footballs are funded thru the school system as well as from donations.6. The Scholastic Warrior ~competitions will exist holy as~ means to motivate students to higher scholastic achievements. (Not meant to be a sports event).7. Each marking Period, different Scholastic Warriors will be Presented to the neighborhood and school so that a turnover~ will give other students a chance to be highlighted ~and rewarded.8. The school gym teacher or athletic director will work with USSMP to coordinate these events. 9. The students chosen for these events will be cho- sen only for scholastic achievements and not phy- sical attributes.10. All students chosen as Scholastic Warriors will receive sweat shirts and/or T shirts bearing-the Scholastic Warrior logo as prizes.11. At the end of the school year a music concert or special tournament can be held in honor of all Chosen Scholastic Warriors withbig exciting prizes Honoring these students’ scholastic achievements.Prizes can be TVs., video games, bicycles, latest fashions, or whatever is most popular with the students.12. Sweat shirts and T shirts will be sold by USSMP with Proceeds going back to the program.

Im deeply concerned about the open display of hate against our new President. The hate is not from around the world but from within our country, In my whole life I have never seen anything close to this. I think this should be one of the first things to be dealt with when the new administration is sworn in. WE HAVE TO FIRST COME TOGETHER BEFORE WE CAN MOVE FORWARD AS A RESPECTED PLAYER IN THE WORLD SCENE. If allowed to fester it may manifest into physical attacks.

DIPLOMACY IS WHATS NEEDED IN THIS ELECTION

MY DEFINITION OF DIPLOMACY...SAVE LIVES...AVOID WAR... DONT MAKE DISTORTED ACCUSATIONS ABOUT YOUR OPPONENT.My definition of diplomacy is doing everything you can to stop or divert a conflict before it ends in people killing themselves.or having to resort to wipping out a people, or culture. I concider what Bush 1 did as diplomacy. He did everthing to stop sudam from taking over Kuwait without starting a world war.
The oil. most of the wars in that area are based on outside countries trying to protect their interest in the oil they need to fuel their countries.The arabs are fighting to maintain the control of the oil thats on their land and thier land. everyone else is fghting and or jockying for position to maintain their own oil supply.If it wasnt for the Oil in that region those Arab countries woulnt be worth the risk of so many lives and efforts.
China, Russia ,America ,Europe, the big players. I think the threat to Isreal Is not the main issue in this whole conflict over their.
Those big players are using the small players as pawns in the big picture.
ruusia supplying arms to one side the US supplying arms to the other. china and europe doing the same.The Arabs in the middle happy to recieve. help from our compitition.

If we spend our energies developing a new and better energy source we may have a chance to avoid a ww3 or 4 and dont forget they have been fighting each other for eons.
We need to develope a new energy source like our lives depended on it.

I’m a single dad, I’ve been with my son since before birth. talking to him while he was still in his mothers womb. Seconds after birth he recognized my voice opened his eyes and smiled at me while reaching out. I raised my son as a single father since he was three. That’s him next to the D.N.A. model we worked on together. That’s also him at three years old at the end of the video.

This song was inspired by him. WHILE LEAVING FOR WORK MY SON SAID CRYING PLEASE DADDY DON’T LEAVE, STAY WITH ME. I PROCEEDED TO WORK THAT DAY WITH TEARS IN MY EYES, AND AFTERWARD TOOK MANY DAYS OFF TO GIVE HIM WHAT ALL OF OUR CHILDREN NEED.

UNITED SCHOLASTIC STUDENT MOTIVATIONAL PROGRAM was also inspired by him and my experience with the public school system.

I live in the city, an African American neighborhood, where their is a lack of fathers present to support and giude their children.

THE DECLINE OF THE TRADITIONAL BLACK FAMILY

This is not just a problem that is all the fault of black fathers . The divorce rate, The laws that support womans rights over mens rights.when it comes to children, and who has to pay child support. the government has traditionaly supported mothers in thier quest to raise the children. Forcing many fathers out of the picture only to be finacial providers. Many of those black fathers were discriminated out of a job. or the job owners moved to the suburbs. Many women changed thier perspective about allowing the man to be the man of the house ., making the easier choice of divorce, child support, and a new boy friend and public aid. As you can see thier are alot of cause and effect issues that plauge our black families and communities. This battle between who is going to be the leading influence in a childs life has seriously effected our black families and have manifested in what we see today.

I sacrificed jobs and money to personally walk my son thru his formative years. I really felt all alone, mostly mothers and their children. Many without fathers present in their lives. I sacrificed also dating because I felt it would distract me from my double duties. His mother was not available. Many mothers overwhelmed me with their request for me to be there for their children and be a good influence for their sons too. Where were their fathers ? Some working, some not there. I reluctantly turned the mothers down because, they were not willing to make the same sacrifices. They were not aware of the some of the issues and beleifs I was instilling in my son that were absent in their lives. Not only did I not have time or extra to sacrifice ,but trying to combine the up bringing of my child, as a single father and help with their children, would have been too much for me to handle . Being an only child I took on the roll of being father, mother, brother, and friend.
I taught him computers before kindergarten, and stayed close to him all along the way as he maintained an A average. He graduated from grammar school Valedictorian 3.9 average. I was so proud of him and glad I made the sacrifice.
Hes a junior in high school now, and so far wer’e beating the odds…….Now college ,,,,some how Im going to pull that off too.

A Fathers Involvement makes a Biiiiig difference.

WHY DO WE HAVE TO FIGHT TO THE DEATH TO SOLVE OUR DIFFERENCES

All who feel that we should go to war and risk the lives of our people , Please stop to think about the reasons one should give their life for a cause.
During the birth of this nation , we as colonist fought to the the death so we could be free from the rule of France and England.

When we allow or accept anyone to be declaired a winner when they have won a race by taking out ,or slowing down thier opponent, we are not choosing the best qualified TO LEAD OUR COUNTRY.

We, and I mean all Americans, should be very careful not to elect anyone who wins a race by taking out thier competition by distorting the facts.

I think a person who wins this way is the person most likely to lead us into trouble.

It seriously concerns me when such a great country would on one hand go balistic if this occured in any of thier sport events, but allow it to occur when choosing the leader of the most powerful nation in the world.

Could this be the reason why America is loosing its quest to be a strong and respected country?Could this be why our economy is having so much trouble?

I love this big ship we all are sailing in.
The big ship called America.
Best ship in the World.
But those republican guys, who have been at the helm for the past 8 years, have steered us all in the wrong direction.
Half of the passengers saw the storm in front of us years ago, while the other half just blindly trusted their lead.
They kept telling everybody theres gold just beyond the horizon, dont worry trust us.
Everyone that tried to say somthing got labeled a traitor, and accused of hating the great ship America.
The other ships warned them not to go in this direction years ago too, they got told the same thing.
Weve lost over 4000 good men, and are runnig low on rashions.
Its going to take forever to get us back into calm waters.
I think its time to make them walk the plank, so we can turn this ship around, before we all go down.
Its time for liberals to take the helm.

I dont see how anyone can come to the conclusion that
its a bad idea to try diplomacy.
Isnt that how Reagan got Russia to stand down after years of the cold war thing.
Hum, ended the war without firing a shot.
Can’t get any better than that.

The right person can make a big differece.
It doesnt matter if its Democratic or Republican its who’s doing the talking.

I can see why no one trusts or responds to the Bush distort the truth type of diplomacy.

FAIR COMPITITION LEADS TO A BETTER SOCIETY

The only reason that race is an issue in any society, is because one group or another feel they have the right to gain power or stay in power by any means. Stopping or preventing any fair competition is ok because, "our existance is more important than yours". Achieving this goal by hook or by crook doesnt matter to some .

This way of thinking can only manifest when one race or culture feels that thier individual existance, beliefs and wants are more important or relevant than the lives of others that also live on the planet. The exceptance of this logic leads to one believing they have the right to take over or exploit another mans property or land, and punish, or demonize anyone who resists or fights back.

When this aproach to survival ,is embraced, and put into action, the individual, the race,the culture, the society, the country, or the nation using it, has actually jeapordized its own future existance, peace and survival. When this aproach to life is used against another human being you have now forced him to either, adopt the same concept to protect himself, ATTACK, flee, be detroyed or dehumanized.

Any and all wars are a product of this phenomina.

As history has always repeated itself in previous societies, after building and maintaining a great society based on these concepts, they all fail because of the same concept that created them.
Colapsing from within , its own people using the concept on themselves, or because the other countries, in fear of you doing the same to them, rush to become powerful enough to protect themselves, or try to do you, before you do them.

It will only end when we as human beings stop using this concept

to, gain power, maintain power, gather resources or secure survival.

We should immidiatly start using our power and knowledge today to first protect ourselves from that which has already been set in motion long time ago. Build and maintain a strong military for defence purposes only.At the same time, create a self sufficient, self sustaining society in America containing a balance of all races and cultures around the world.

We must teach all children the reasons, rules and laws of existing in a peacful inclusive society.

The other way it can end is if the concept of (win any way you can) evolves to a point where the use of this way of life spreads around the country, spreads around the world, and manifests into a massive war that destroys most, leaving only the meak to inherit the earth.

There is clearly a fear in white America, that a black American, can objectivly and without bias be the leader of thier country. The same country that no one other than one of them has ever been in charge of.

I believe and see that because of the past discrimination of African Americans some of white Americans may feel that an African American would be a possible risk being President of this country.

Some of them might feel that we may treat them the way some of them have treated us. THIS IS NOT TRUE BY ANY MEANS. but some may truely fear this. I think this is one of the reasons Barack is under the microscope in such an exrteme way.

Thats why what J Wright and Farhkan say are so alarming to some and what I concider as insensitive and counter productive. These fears that exist are real and must be adressed with extreem sensitivity. It must be taken as seriuos as our sensitivities to their veiw and treatment of us as black Americans.

The fact that they are concidering the possibility of a black President shows me that for one, many Americans are changing their views about race,and are now open, for what ever reasons, to give a black man a try.

So I think we should be sensitive to their fears of us, just like we would like them to be sensitive to our fears and suspicions of them.
Barrack is not campaining for the rights of one particular group.
He is campaining for the rights of human beings.

And if anyone hasnt noticed, THIS INCLUDES EVERYBODY.
