I support Obama because he has INTEGRITY, he is Honest, he understands the many different views and beliefs of the people of this country and STRONGLY desires to bring us to a greater understanding of one another.
He wants to govern by the people, for the people. He is going to continue to hold Town Hall meetings with US after he becomes President! He will not accept $ from Political Action Committees, nor lobbyists (read Corporate American). He has garnered more donations from more people in political history and the average donation is just $92.00. The majority of John McCain and Hillary's donors give the Max of $2300 (I think this is the # it is $2xxx something for sure).
He already has and will continue to give our country hope and this is reverberating around the world! You can't believe how many people from Europe, Asia and South America and even India, come on his blog and praise him and give their honest hope and prayers for his Election. They believe he will be a more open-minded, conciliatory leader that will change the world.
He is also fully committed to spending significant amounts of money to move forward the "green" energy industries in this country, creating MANY new jobs that will have a HUGE import on our economy and environment. He is not owned by the oil industry nor is his wealth tied to any sector of corporate America. In fact, he is new to having any money at all! It is only the money from his book sales that have taken him from educational loan debt to being able to spend 18 months campaigning for President. He will also end the war in Iraq and focus on Afghanistan, where the real terrorist problem started and remains. Iraq is weakening our military, our economy and our favor in the world. We need out! And I say this with all due respect to Dan, Peter and all the many people who have risked their lives and their families happiness to work for the freedom of the Iraqi people. I have incredible respect for you (them)!!!! But I fear we have come to the point of no return on our human investment in Iraq, they (Iraq) must take back the reins and solve their problems on their own. We have done all we can and they have yet to step up.
To wrap up, the most important thing about Barack Obama is that he is NOT part of politics past, which unfortunately, has put us in the difficult places we find our country today.
