Special thanks to Canada's "MACLEANS" magazine for the special edition November 17 th.
It featured a great front cover picture of Barack and Michelle. It featured an excellent piece by Luiza
Savage with 18-page portfolio with outstanding campaign photographs. Then there were those
ordinary regular type photos such as the one with Barack and Joe Biden and others
eating ice cream cones.

It has been very interesting following the campaign since January 2008.
Aside from the various news stories and TV shows, this site was special.
It may not of changed any opinions, but it was important to be a positive showcase for supporters.

To all those that have contributed comments to this site, thank you.
It has been a most interesting campaign to observe.
For organization and volunteers, the Obama race to the White House
is likely the best of all time.

The Last Two Questions in the Obama vs McCain race

For the undecided voters, there are two key questions:
Which candidate has effective leadership qualities, and
Which candidate will be an effective decision maker.
In my opinion, it is clear that Barack Obama will be the best leader
and with assistance from many qualified and caring folks in his team,
Obama will make effective and timely decision for all Americans.

IGNORANCE & SHAME: CHANGE IS COMING
By
Brian Zelley
- Sep 8th, 2008 at 7:21 pm EDT
Also listed in:

Of the thousands of sound bites that ruled the night at the McCain convention
the brief mocking and laughter directed at the community worker is an echo
of ignorance and shame.
The dark clouds of ignorance and shame at this McCain gathering shined
a light on elitism and intolerance.
This dark light of ignorance and shame revisited the past decades of struggle
for freedom. equality and justice.
It is hoped that sometime soon that those that mocked and laughed
will hang their heads in shame as ask what price victory
when we laugh at those that reach out to the poor, the sick, the unfortunate.
If smashing the hopes and dreams of the less fortunate is the change that is coming,
that is change that nobody shoud tolerate, support or finance from
sea to shining sea, from Washington state to the West Virginia rural towns
and north to Alaska.

Now is the beginning of the last mile of this great journey of hope and change.
A thousands words cannot tell the story of this most important journey.
But, through the eyes of the many that attended the Convention in Denver
we see the HOPE and PROMISE.
Now is the time to sprint forward to run that last mile for HOPE and CHANGE.

Beneath The Low Road into the gutter of Dirty Politics
By

For all candidates for a political office, there are many roads to travel between the high road and the low road. But, there are times when a candidate or supporters slip below the low road to walk in the ditch in the hopes of winning a few sadly needed political points.
The recent antics of McCain and friends using wounded soldiers as a sorry excuse
for campaign ads and talking points in an attempt to diminish Barack Obama's recent
foreign trip is a sharp example of a campaign that has drifted far below the low road
into the gutter of dirty politics.

The Showdown - the OBAMA vs MCCAIN Debate
By
Brian Zelley

All the event to-date are academic, they are warm-ups for the great showdown.
It will be the great debate between Barack Obama vs John McCain that will decide
the outcome.
Each candidate will have to support their positions, and try to score the knockpout punch.
It may only be a few misdirected words by one of the candidates or a sucker punch landing
that will determine the outcome
It is possible to prepare for the obvious issues such as the economy, health care, trade,
the environment, leadership and experience, and the peace process, but how each candidate reacts to the zinger from nowhere could convince the UNDECIDED.

McCain: "I know how to win wars"
By

For the last number of days, McCain has been claiming that he knows how to win wars.
I wonder if he knows how to win the peace
He is putting an unusual amount of time expounding on the Iraq conflict and the surge issue.
But what war is he fighting. As the ORIGINAL WAR against Saddam ended some time ago
due to the combined efforts of the Americans, the British, and the Iraqi citizens that were not dancing to Saddam's drum beat. Since that time, the collective group have been trying to win the peace
against all odds due to the complex nature of the internal politics. The bottom line. is the internal conflict will end when the various internal groups put aside their personal agendas and work for the common good. It appears this is being done but oh so slow.
Now the real war is the war against terrorism with part of that global problem being in
Afghanistan. Barack Obama has been talking about the importance of the Afghanistan conflict
for a long long time. But, according to John McCain, what does Barack Obama know!!!!
Maybe, McCain hasn't been listening while he toots is own horn on how he knows how
to win wars, but when will he toot the horn of peace. And what tiype of horn will he
toot in the delicate dance with Iran.

FEAR - PATRIOTISM - EXPERIENCE
By
Brian Zelley

Also listed in:

The other side have only touched the surface in the
game of negative attacks. It appears that they are using
a three pronged attack:
1. The Fear Factor.
2 The Patriotism Game.
3. The Experience Line
So far, McCain appears to be following the soft sell approach
by focusing on his military service and political experience.
However, when it comes to presenting an image of an
effective leader, he is failing.
However, various individuals supporting McCain or some
special interest groups are having a field day peddling
a series of messages to cast doubt and raise fear.
For this other cast of characters there are no limits.
Sadly, the news media should be neutral but are being drawn
in to discuss a whole range of issues from religion, race, language, elitism and military service.
The recent New Yorker magazine cover controversy is a
clear and present danger. It not only focuses on the
patriotism and fear factor, but shoud be offensive to not
only persons of the Muslim faith, but of all citizens that
believe in truth, integrity and respect.
I can't believe any retail outlet would have the audacity to display or peddle any of those magazines without running a high risk
of a massive boycott and backlash from all fair minded
citizens regardless of race, religion. or political preference.

COLDPLAY's Chris Martin

As a Coldplay fan, I was pleased with Chris Martin's comments.
"If Obama was to be president, it would immediately change the
whole outside world's opinion of America"
Without a doubt, Chris is somewhat correct, but the naysayers and critics were quick to swoop down and attack.
I happen to agree with Chris to some degree, because it is obvious
to many non-Americans that Obama is the best choice for
International relationships and fair and reasonable diplomacy.
To borrow from a COLDPLAY tune:
"closing walls and ticking clocks" would be the obvious alternative if J M is elected.
Maybe those words could be expanded to say CLOSING DOORS to positive diplomacy.

We may never stand face to face, but we are friends because we believe in hope and change.
We are scattered far and wide throughout the fifty states of the United States of America
, nearby countries such as Canada, and other distant places throughout the globe
be it in Great Britain, mainland Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and beyond.
Now is the time for change when political leaders put aside petty differences and
the win at all cost strategies, and open their eyes, hearts and minds for a better vision, a better plan and real action for a better tomorrow for all citizens.
It will not be easy, but great things are never easy, it takes integrity, team work, and
dedication.
To all the friends we have or will have on this site, thanks for your interest, thanks for
stories, thanks for your dedication, and may we all stay united and true to the objectives and goals.

50 States - Hopes, Wishes & Dreams
By
Brian Zelley
- Jul 3rd, 2008 at 5:43 am EDT
Also listed in:

Most would agree, it is not possible for Obama to win all 50 States. But, it is not an impossible dream.
By the efforts of the many volunteers and supporters, much has been done, and there
is much more to do. Through the efforts of volunteers in strong Democratic states, there are moves to have volunteers reach out to those States that are likely to be difficult to win.
May the brightest light shine on the road that leads to the most challenging places for victory.
But, every effort should be maintained to keep the Democratic Party home fires burning warm
and bright in those States that are considered a sure thing.
As in life, there is no sure thing in Politics.
No one should forget the importance of the vote in November. It is not only important
to all U S A citizens, but to North America and the World. Without a doubt or the least trace of doubt, this is likely the most important election of all time in the United States of America,
and one of the most important Election in recent World history.

Yesterday's Man

With all due respect to John McCain, his ongoing and never ending fixation on certain events of the past, may not be the type of experience that is needed in the 21 st. Century for a President.
John had his chance in 2000 when he faced George Bush for the Republican nomination
and the rest is history.
Sadly, John might have been a good choice over Bush in 2000, but that is Yesterday.
Now, eight years later, he does not appear as sharp as he did in 2000.
But, maybe he is just thinking more. But, if he is thinking more, is it about Tomorrow
or just a thought while travelling down memory lane thinking about things that should
have been.

It is most interesting getting the International news and view of Election 2008 and the
race between Barack Obama and John McCain.
Friday, June 13 th "Times-Colonist", Victoria, BC, Canada:
Mentioned "Obama camp quick to rebut smears..."
"The Globe And Mail", BC Edition, Friday, June 13 th. had a picture of Michelle Obama
at a March fundraiser in front of the flag. The headline was:
"Obama's best booster or easy Republican target".

A sad Song, but hope is alive
By
Brian Zelley
- Jun 9th, 2008 at 4:38 am EDT
Although the Barack Obama supporters are feeling the warm glow of victory over these past few days, my heart goes out to the many hard working supporters of Hillary. The journey was long,
the sacrifice was hard and the final result was shattering. Like a sad sad song such as
"Kentucky Rain" or "The Tracks Of My Tears", the pain and sorrow will linger.
Slowly, as the hours, the days, and months go by, it is hoped that the pain will give way to the joy
of joining a united team of Barack supporters to create another moment in history that will
last forever in the hearts and minds of those that are directly involved and will linger on
in time to keep the hope and possibilities alive for many other great moments in history
