After July 9th I will no longer be supporting Obama. Please do not assume anything on my opinion here. I'm very informed on all aspects of FISA as I have spent many months reading everything on this topic. I also watched the entire vote live on the web yesterday. I'm ashamed of every single representative that voted 'Yea' yesterday. I may live in a Blue State, but this Democratic party needs to realize that registered Independents do not buy into spin, and apparently all the talk of change was just that. My vote for the 3rd election in a row will go outside the two majority parties.
The FISA vote yesterday cements the following: the end of my support for Obama and the return to me supporting an independent candidate. These candidates need to stop assuming blind passion and loyalty from those they represent. I want protection of our Consitutional freedoms and I want someone that has the courage to do so. It's sad when the 4th Amendment is officially trashed as part of a campaign and a way to avoid negative GOP spin. Nothing has changed here; this party is destined to lose again like it did the last two elections. I realize my vote may help that, but I cannot support this action.
