--Now Voting For Obama--
MANCHESTER - Senator Obama's New Hampshire Campaign released a web ad today featuring Granite Staters who supported John McCain in 2000 and will be voting for Obama on November 4th, 2008. The ad features Mike Hill, former Republican Deputy Speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, Barbara Pressly from Nashua, Kyril Mitchell, an Iraq War Veteran from Laconia, and Marge and Paul Bonneville from Tilton.
In the opening of the ad, Barbara Pressly from Nashua, who held a house party for McCain in 2000, addresses the changes she has seen in the candidate.
"The John McCain who came to my house and spoke to my neighbors in the back yard eight years ago, is not the John McCain that's here today," said Barbara
It also highlights Kyril Mitchell who is an Army Veteran from Laconia.
"John McCain has really shifted hard to the right. He represents the hard right of the Republican party now. He wants more of the same," Kyril said.
Marge and Paul Bonneville from Tilton appear in the ad saying, "They said he's you know, a maverick, but I just don't see that happening anymore."
Mike Hill, former Republican Deputy Speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives addresses McCain's ties to Bush's failed policies. "I don't think John McCain is going to bring change to Washington, I think John McCain is more of the same," Hill said.

I first got into the election when I met Arianna Huffington about twelve weeks ago. She talked about the policies of John McCain and that they go nowhere, and that they are the same policies as the Bush Administration.

It's really because of Erin that I'm here. She's the one who got me so excited about Barack Obama and who insisted I get involved. When she calls and tells me about the great work they're doing in Michigan, I am inspired to do my part here at home.

When I saw the new office and all of you working so hard, I realized you needed some help. As a former IT project manager, if there is one thing I am good at, its managing offices and keeping things organized.
Emma and my wife Amy are as much a part of this as I am, They have supported me at home and they know that it's important for me to be doing something that I believe in.
It's the hard work that everyone else is doing at the office that keeps me coming back.

For my blog post, I would like to introduce a truly remarkable part of our campaign, and dare I say a big reason why Barack Obama is going to win here Nashua. Her name is Fern. She lives here in Ward 1, and she works her heart out for the campaign. A mother of two delightful children and a guidance counselor at a local high school, she makes time to knock on doors every Saturday and Sunday, makes phone calls two evenings a week, throws fantastic house parties, and hosts Yours Truly in her home. She brings sumptuous meals to the office, feeds me vitamins when I’m sick, and sends her children out to hold signs at 7 AM in the morning.
She even sends her retired father up from Massachusetts to help out with the campaign during his free time. How does she do it? Where does the energy come from? What makes this dynamo tick?
But when I asked her, all she has to say on the matter is, “I do what I can.”
Fern, through her tenacity and intelligence, is able to do more than most. Not only does she go the extra mile, but the second, third, and fourth thereafter. She is an inspiration. But her answer to my question should tell us all exactly what it will take to win in November, and it has much less to do with the volume of work volunteers can do than the willingness to engage in the first place. In amongst a busy schedule and time spent with her family, she does the work Barack Obama and Joe Biden need to get done in order to bring about meaningful change in Washington DC. It’s not how much you do, it’s that you do it.
If you have just a small window of time in your schedule every week to visit our office and follow Fern’s lead, that will get us one step closer to winning on November 4th. You—through knocking those doors, making those calls, and talking to your neighbors—can bring about the change we so desperately need. I say it again: you.

New Hampshire is one of the closest races in the country and we need to win here.
Join Erin and the rest of the group here in Lebanon as we fight to win back the White House! While most people cannot spare as much time as Erin, "it is everyone's responsibility to play a part that fits within their own lives." We canvass every weekend and have great phonebanks during the week. Please email mwayshak@nhforchange.com to get more involved. You can also reach out and talk to your undecided neighbors by using the Neighbor to Neighbor online tool. Try it! It's easy.

This Friday, we'll reach another milestone in this campaign -- the first debate of the general election, on September 26th at 9:00 p.m. Eastern time. Millions of Americans will tune in to watch Barack debate John McCain about America's foreign policy and our role in the world. Barack will share his plan to bring the change we need -- to restore our place in the world, ensure security at home and abroad, and reestablish the United States as the world's economic leader. This is a great opportunity for you to learn more about the issues. And it's also a great opportunity for you to share Barack's message of change with your friends, family, and neighbors by attending or hosting a Debate Watch Party. Watch the debate with friends and supporters, and talk about how you can get involved in this movement. I recorded a brief message about these parties. Please take a moment to watch the video and sign up to attend or host a Debate Watch Party in your community. Many Americans are still learning about Barack and this movement for change. They don't know about his plan to restore the middle class, cut taxes for 95 percent of American families, provide health care for every American, achieve energy independence, improve our schools, and responsibly end the war in Iraq. Many people also don't know that John McCain has voted with George Bush more than 90 percent of the time -- including to continue Bush's failed Iraq policies, not investigating the government response to Katrina, not supporting children's health care, not supporting college benefits for returning veterans, and passing tax cuts for the rich at the expense of the middle class. This debate is a chance for Americans to hear directly from Barack. And with just a few weeks left before Election Day, it's more important than ever that we bring people together and talk about the issues that matter in our communities. I hope you'll watch my short message and sign up to attend or even host a Debate Watch Party: http://my.barackobama.com/debate Thank you for all that you're doing, Michelle
Tuesday, Governor Bill Richardson was in New Hampshire for three Town Hall events. He started off his day in Manchester at Southern New Hampshire University where he fired up the crowd of students, faculty, and community members. He spoke about the Obama-Biden plan for foreign policy, the current economic crisis, and energy independence. Richardson told the crowd that Obama was against huge golden parachutes to corporate CEO’s, would make the concerns of Main Street a priority in his Administration, and that Obama believed the current financial crisis required bipartisan oversight.
Next, he spoke to a group of Latinos in Nashua on the importance of electing Barack Obama the next President. He stressed that Senator Obama understood the concerns of Latinos and would fight for health care for all, immigration reform, and economic development. Richardson told the crowd that Barack has a long history of standing up for Latino’s going all the way back to his community organizer days on Chicago’s South Side. Si se puede! To join Latino’s for Obama click here.
On his last stop of the day, Governor Richardson spoke to a great crowd in Laconia. He encouraged the folks in Laconia to get involved and help Barack Obama win New Hampshire by canvassing, making phone calls, and writing letters to the editor. You can even write them online here. Find out how you can get involved in your area by calling or visiting your Local Field Office. All in all, Governor Richardson and those who came out to see him had a great day. Thank you for coming Governor, you really got us fired up!
The era of greed and irresponsibility on Wall Street and in Washington has created a financial crisis as profound as any we have faced since the Great Depression. Congress and the President are debating a bailout of our financial institutions with a price tag of $700 billion or more in taxpayer dollars. We cannot underestimate our responsibility in taking such an enormous step. Whatever shape our recovery plan takes, it must be guided by core principles of fairness, balance, and responsibility to one another. Please sign on to show your support for an economic recovery plan based on the following:• No Golden Parachutes -- Taxpayer dollars should not be used to reward the irresponsible Wall Street executives who helmed this disaster.• Main Street, Not Just Wall Street -- Any bailout plan must include a payback strategy for taxpayers who are footing the bill and aid to innocent homeowners who are facing foreclosure.• Bipartisan Oversight -- The staggering amount of taxpayer money involved demands a bipartisan board to ensure accountability and oversight.Show your support and encourage your friends and family to join you: http://my.barackobama.com/ourplan The failed economic policies and the same corrupt culture that led us into this mess will not help get us out of it. We need to get to work immediately on reforming the broken government -- and the broken politics -- that allowed this crisis to happen in the first place. And we have to understand that a recovery package is just the beginning. We have a plan that will guarantee our long-term prosperity -- including tax cuts for 95 percent of families, an economic stimulus package that creates millions of new jobs and leads us towards energy independence, and health care that is affordable to every American. It won't be easy. The kind of change we're looking for never is. But if we work together and stand by these principles, we can get through this crisis and emerge a stronger nation. Thank you, Barack
