First let me once again thank each and everyone of you who sent notes to our beloved president, Barack Obama. Here is the account of the journey our notes took to get to the president. I hope at least one of us will get a response from the president.
Here's the story, enjoy!
President Obama's visit to Texas A&M University
My niece sent me the following and I thought I would share it with all of you.
Inauguration Ball 2009 Guests began arriving early. There are no place cards and no name tags. Everyone knows everyone else here. Now, there's a grand foursome - Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz sharing laughs with Martin and Coretta Scott King. Looks like Hosea Williams refused the limo again, keeping it real. And my goodness; is that Rosa Parks out there on the dance floor with A. Phillip Randolph? Seated at a nearby table, Frederick Douglass has a captive audience in W.E.B. DuBois and Fannie Lou Hamer, Harold Washington and Medgar Evers has just joined them.Marian Anderson was asked to sing tonight, but she only agreed to do it if accompanied by Marvin Gaye, John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix.Look, there's Harriet Tubman. No one knows how she arrived, but there she is. And my guess is that, when the time comes, no one will see her leave. There's Jackie Robinson swiftly making his way through the hall as the crowd parts like the Red Sea to the unmistakable sound of applause. "Run, Jackie, run!" Along the way he is embraced by Jesse Owens. Three beautiful young women arrive with their escorts - Schwerner, Goodman and Chaney. Ms. Viola Liuzzo flew in from Michigan, exclaiming, "I could not miss this." Richard Pryor promised to be on his best behavior. "But I can't make any guarantees for Redd Foxx and Moms Mabley," he chuckled. Joe Louis just faked a quick jab to the chin of Jack Johnson, who smiled broadly while slipping it. We saw Billy Eckstine and Nat King Cole greet Luther Vandross. James Brown and Josh Gibson stopped at Walter Payton's table to say hello.I spotted Congressman Adam Clayton Powell of Harlem having a lively political discussion with Eldridge Cleaver. Pearl Harbor WWII hero Dorey Miller shared a few thoughts with Crispus Attucks, a hero of the Revolutionary War. And there is Madam C.J. Walker talking with Marcus Garvey about exporting goods to Africa.General Benjamin O. Davis flew into Washington safely with an escort from the 99th Fighter Squadron - better known as The Tuskegee Airmen. At the table on the left are three formidable women - Shirley Chisholm, Sojourner Truth, and Barbara Jordan - gathered for a little girl-talk... about world politics. As usual, all the science nerds seem to have gathered off in a corner, talking shop. There's Granville T. Woods and Lewis Latimer needling each other about whose inventions are better. Someone jokingly asked Benjamin Banneker if he had needed directions to Washington. And George Washington Carver was overheard asking, "What, no peanuts?"Dueling bands? Anytime Duke Ellington and Count Basie get together, you know the place will be jumping. Tonight is special, of course, so we have Miles, Dizzy, and Satchmo sitting in on trumpet, with Coltrane, Cannonball, and Bird on sax. Everyone's attention is directed to the dance floor where Bill "Bojangles" Robinson is tap dancing. Right beside him is Sammy Davis Jr., doing his Bojangles routine. And behind his back, Gregory Hines is imitating them both. Applause and laughter abound! The Hollywood contingent has just arrived from the Coast. Led by filmmaker Oscar Micheaux, Paul Robeson, Canada Lee, and Hattie McDaniel, they find their way to their tables. Dorothy Dandridge, looking exquisite in gold lamé, is seen signaling to her husband, Harold Nicholas, who is standing on the floor with brother Fayard watching Gregory Hines dance. "Hold me back," quips Harold, "before I show that youngster how it's done." Much laughter! Then a sudden hush comes over the room. The guests of honor have arrived. The President and Mrs. Obama looked out across the enormous ballroom at all the historic faces. Very many smiles, precious few dry eyes. Someone shouted out, "You did it! You did it!"And President Obama replied, "No sir, you did it; you all - each and every one of you - did it. Your guidance and encouragement; your hard work and perseverance..."Obama paused, perhaps holding back a tear."I look at your faces - your beautiful faces - and I am reminded that The White House was built by faces that looked just like yours. On October 3, 1792, the cornerstone of the White House was laid, and the foundations and main residence of The White House were built mostly by both enslaved and free African Americans and paid Europeans. In fact, most of the other construction work was performed by immigrants, many of whom had not yet become citizens. Much of the brick and plaster work was performed by Irish and Italian immigrants. The sandstone walls were built by Scottish immigrants. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is that The White House is, ultimately, The People's House, with each President serving as its steward. Since 1792 The People have trimmed its hedges, mowed its lawn, stood guard at the gate, cooked meals in the kitchen, and scrubbed its toilet bowls. But 216 years later, The People are taking it back!"Today, Michelle and I usher in a new era. But while we and our family look toward the future with so much hope, we know that we must also acknowledge fully this milestone in our journey. We want to thank each and every one of you for all you have done to make this day possible. I stand here before you, humbled and in awe of your accomplishments and sacrifice, and I will dedicate my Presidency, in your honor, to the principles of peace, liberty and freedom. If it ever appears that I'm forgetting that, I know I can count on you to remind me." Thank you to all who paved the way for President-Elect Barack Obama to become the 44th President of the United States of America.
God bless each and everyone of you for your sacrifices.

Sen. Obama, it has been a while since I last dropped you a note. Senator, you know life sometimes interupts living. I want to take a moment and let you know how I throughly enjoyed our convention. I cried from the opening of the convention, to the end of the convention.
I have never been more excited and happy and sad and just plain full of joy about a democratic convention in my life, but last week's convention was more than I expected, it was just marvelous!
I thought the move to Mile High Stadium was smart for your acceptance speech. The back drop that was chosen, was perfection, it reminded me of the doorway of the White House leading to the Rose Garden. It was very presidential.
On yesterday you made to decisions which points to your great leadership. First, you said you would not go to the diaster area because it would be a distraction and take needed resources away from those who need them, and also you thought it better to access the situation to see what is needed and whether or not your physical present was needed.
You also stated that you had volunteers ready to go when and where they were needed. You also asked your supporters and all Americans to send money to organizations which were helping victims of the hurricane. These actions showed great leadership, you put "Americans first", not yourself. You did not get in the way and you did not take a silly picture of yourself putting together unwarrented packages for disaster victims.
Thank you for standing up for Palin's daughter, you are right, no one has the right to go after a politicians family. I am not sure why here mother outed her in such a manner, but I know by you standing up for her showed great leadership on your part, as well as basic human compassion.
I know you are going to win this election, and I am looking forward to your inaugural address.
Father I thank you for Sen. Obama and I thank you for blessing him with the ability to such compassion and humanity to his fellow man. Thank you for giving him a family who taught him the value of citizenship and leadership.
Please continue to bless and keep my junior senator and his family, in Jesus name, amen.
Thank you Sen. Obama, for making your choice known to all of us, we can now go off all our anxiety meds, and quick jumping everytime our phones ring! :)
Obama/Biden'08, I love it!
Sen. Obama, remember to stay the course and you will prevail in the end.
I got the analogy of the 3:00AM phone call, cute, real cute. (ha, ha)
I won't conclude this post with my usual prayer, I left it on the welcome note to Sen. Biden.
You and Sen. Biden, have a great day and a wonderful journey to the convention.
Looking foreward to your speeches.
Hi Sen. Obama, it's been awhile since I last made a post.
I just wanted to let you know, I think your strategy is going to work, and you will win the General Election.
Please just stay focus and keep telling the American people what they need to hear and you will do just fine.
I am still waiting for the VP call! I know you will pick a good person.
Lord bless and keep my jr. senator and his future running mate. In Jesus name, amen.
Sen. Obama, I think it was very smart of you to use modern technology to connect to the electorate to announce your VP choice.
I am honored to be part of this campaign as a blogger and small fundraiser. I have never had so much fun at working to achieve a goal in my life. You have made coming out of your comfort zone a must in order to bring change to our country. You have cause those of us who have either no funds or limited funds to use our creativity to a vital part of this campaign.
Sen. Obama, you have inspired us to be bakers, sign makers, button makers, quilters, painters, gardeners (some people have created Obama gardens for change), poets, travel agents, caterers, office suppliers, volunteers, host/hostess, protesters, t-shirt makers, public speakers, delegates, and proud Americans.
Because of your use of technology you have allowed Americans to connect to one another (perfect strangers) to put our heads together to make sure we elect you as President of the United States of America. But it is even more than that, you have cause us to help one another on a personal level.
We have helped Americans dealing with the after effects of natural disasters, accidents, deaths (human/pets), foreclosures, medical emergencies. We have become friends, counselors to one another during periods of great stress brought on by taking care of aging parents, personal illiness, lost of employment, and other such conditions.
We realized that "we are the change we have been waiting for" and we took ownership of this concept.
Thank you for brining us together as a nation, as a people by using technology to connect us to help elect you POTUS.
Lord, thank you for all those who have been inspired by Sen. Obama to change the direction of our country was headed in. Thank you for blessing us with Sen. Obama as our presumptive nominee for President of the United States. Please keep him and protect he and his family and those that protect him. Continue to guide him and inspire him. Give him peace and favor with all he meet and greet and victory in November. In Jesus name, amen.
I read on the blog that you would be starting your vaction today. I hope you and your family have a great time in Hawaii and I hope your grandma is doing great and you two get to spend a lot of time toegether.
Have a great time! See you when you get back.
God, let the joy of peace and the campion of family brighten and lift his spirits and keep his hopes alives. In Jesus name, amen.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SENATOR OBAMA!!!!!!!!
God bless and keep you.
Sen. Obama, all I have to say is "steady". Stay balanced and focused for the rest of this campaign and you will reach the American voters and will be successful in obataining "the People's House", as you so eloquently put.
Do not nip at the bait the republicans are using, stay above the frey and get your surrogates out there and let them hammer home your agenda for the country. (Please make sure they believe what they are saying, therefore your message will come out more fluently, and instruct them to not let the republicans loud talk them.
Sen. Obama, you just stay "steady", and when you debate McCain, let him have it with the truth and power of a true statesman.
Do not let yourself be pulled in different directions at the same time, that is what McCain does, and that is just one of the things that make him ineffective.
When you are adjusting your stance on a issue, do not keep justifying it, state it and move on. When you constantly defend your adjustment, it makes you look unsure, not decisive.
This campaign is going to get really nasty in the next couple of weeks, and will remain so until the election, but remember Sen. Obama, you are right in what you believe is best for our country.
I believe in you and know you will do a great job as president.
Looking forward to your acceptance/nomination speech at the convention.
Have a great day!
God, this the moment, this is the time you have set for America to have a true leader of the people, by the people and for the people. My Senator needs you put a wedge between he and his opposition that they can not bridge. Please grant him the momentum he needs to get over every hurdle that is before him to allow him victory in November. Let his message remain true and let it be received by the voters.
Protect him and keep him safe from dangers seen and not seen. Give him favor with the voters and with the countries of this world. Help him help us to restore our country. Let him be a beacon for all who doubt that America is the land of opportunity, who had given up on hope and packed away their dreams.
Lord, I want to thank you for allowing me the privillege to vote for him and be happy about it. Bless him and all who support him and bless the USA, in Jesus name, amen.
Senator Barack Obama, "stand your ground"!
I have been listening to the msm most of the day and have read several articles bashing you about a comment that has been proven to have been taken out of context. It all means to me that you are doing much better than they are reporting, keep going full speed ahead and forget them.
The bloggers on this site and others that are supporters of yours are contacting these people and letting them know,"NOT THIS TIME"! We will not sit back and let them do to you what they did to Sen. Kerry in 04.
Senator, you are a class act and a goodhearted person who has the best interest of the country in mind at all times. All your supporters, has got your back covered.
God, thank you for a good candidate, an honest candidate to represent the Democratic Party. In Jesus name, amen.
Sen. Obama, good morning and again thank you for running for POTUS.
The buzz is you're "uppity, arrogant and cocky"; well, what a relief, they were saying you were "too young, too black, and too inexperienced". They have now realized you are not too young, too black, and you have enough of the right experiences need to be POTUS.
There are those in this society who will never accept you, and will always find a way to try and bring you down. Nothing you say or do is ever going to be right or good enough, so I say focus on the rest of our great American society. Focus on those who are looking to better the conditions of our nation for the present and near future. Embrace all of us who know the time has come to put the shame of America to rest once and for all time.
Sen. Obama, hope is not a "head in the cloud concept, it is the evidence of all things that is". Without hope what can we achieve, nothing. Without hope would anything ever get better, no. Without hope could America even exsist, no. You have brought back hope to a nation dealing with so much corruption in business and politics, violence, fear, racism, economic depression, and the break up of the family unit and the list could go on and on.
So they call you "uppity, arrogant, and cocky", because you have worked hard to get where you are, you have confidence in your ability to lead our nation and have confidence in us, America, that we can be great again, and can get out of the mess created over the last seven years. Because you are received as presidential not only here, but abroad you are, you are not referred to as a statesman, but, you are spoken of as "cocky". Again I say, good for you, they finally see you as you really are, they are just to set in their "uppity, arrogant and cocky", ways to admit it.
Keep doing what you are doing, and you will win the hearts of Americans across the land.
I am sorry you have to go through this, but just think, of all the people who gave their time and effort and even their lives for the right you now have to be the "presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party". Keep up the good work and keep making all their efforts and sacrifices worth it.
God, I thank you for this moment in time, this moment of victory that so many sacrificed for America to have. Sen. Obama is being mock and ridiculed falsely once again, please keep him strong and let the truth come to defend him. Bring those who seek to destroy his good name and intentions to shame. Let your peace be an embrace around him through all this turmoil.
Lord I know nothing is too hard for you, but at times things get too hard for us, be his burden bearer and heavy load sharer today and always. Thank you for the statesmanlike behavior he exhibits at all times. Please keep him from all harm and guide him through the traps set before him by his enemies.
Bless and keep he and his family and protect them from the evil which seek to destroy them, in Jesus name, amen.
Senator Obama, I see it is back to business as usual with the MSM. They no longer report the news, they attempt to make the news and that is just a sad commentary for journalism. Keep doing what you are doing and you will win the White House in November, and America will win back its government.
Sen. Obama, please make sure your surrogates know the facts and are comfortable delivering them before they attempt to defend you. The republicans must have some sort of rudeness loud talking class they make their surrogates attend, and it works, because the squeaky wheel gets the most attention. Please develop some sort of class for your surrogates to counteract those type of verbal behaviors.
Welcome back again senator, and I hope you have a great day today. Lay off the basketball for awhile and let that hip heal!
God, let Sen. Obama have a great day today and keep he and his family safe and bless all who are involved in this campaign, especially the bloggers. In Jesus name, amen.
Hip-Hip Hooray! Hip-Hip Hooray!
You're back!
I hope you write a special blog and tell us about your trip and show us lots and lots of pictures.
I know your family is happy to have you back also.
God, thank you for bring him home safely, in Jesus name, amen.
Senator Barack Obama, "are you here yet"?
You have been gone too, too long, and we need you here. McCain and his minions are spreading all kinds of lies about you and where you stand on the issues facing our country, and I must admit, not all of your surrogates are up to the task of defending you. (They keep letting those repugs loud talk them and interrupt them and have the last word, they also stammer too, too, much).
Please hurry back and get our team back on track!
I hope you had a great trip and hopefully got some rest, and had a little fun.
God get him back on US soil safely and please be the wind at his back,in Jesus name, amen
Okay senator, I am now having "Obamawithdrawl"! You need to hurry, real fast, put a fire under it, and get your self back on American soil, any American soil! You have been with the world long enough, I need you home now, I need my daily fix of hope!
Sorry for the rant. I am so very proud you are my candidate for president. I believe that you will spark people in the world to be better citizens as you have sparked us here in America. The pressure you must be under has to be taking its toll on you emotionally; but be encouraged you are doing all any one person can to make this world better for future generations.
I watched you give your speech in Germany, and I bet 70% of those people did not understand English, but they understood you and what you are trying to do. They know it is time for change also and they need someone to help them get going, and they have embraced you. You know senator, you have accomplished so much in such a short time and that is what gives people hope, because we do not have to wait, the time is now,"just do it"!
"How long 'til you come back? I miss you!
God you have granted favor to my junior senator from the great state of illinois and you have opened the hearts of the world to receive his message and they want to help make your world better. God it is some of America's hearts that concern me, they want to kill him, they hate him because he is a black man, they deny his faith in you and question the patriotism of he and his wife. Their hearts are filled with such hatred and God I am not sure they will even listen to you, although a great many of them claim to be your children, your ambassadors, your chosen to bring light into this dark world.
Lord, it is America that I pray for you to open their hearts and minds and eyes to your truth. Please protect my senator from the evil they would do in the name of whatever name they use to justify their hatred. Protect those which protect him also and bless he and his family, staff, supporters, and bloggers. In the precious name of Jesus my Lord, amen.
Senator Obama, I can not wait to cast my vote for you in November!
November please trade places with August! :o)
You keep doing what you do best, spreading hope to a sadden world!
Waiting to hear all about the trip.
God thank you for your mercy toward my junior senator from Illinois, please continue to bless him and keep him safe from all harm. Thank you for giving him favor with all he meet and greet. Thank you for giving him to us (America). In the precious name of Jesus, amen.
Okay Senator, you are doing well, remain steady, stay on script and you will come home the victor!
Forget MSM, just keep being the smart, articulate stateman you are.
Hurry home, I miss seeing/hearing you give your speeches. Stay safe, and do whatever the Secret Service tells you. See you when you get home.
God bring him back safely and victorious, in Jesus name, amen

Senator Obama, all I am going to say, is things are looking good for America because of you! :o)
I would like to thank your mom and her parents for raising such a statesman, a wise and thoughtful man and a strong leader. With you as President, I know things are going to be better.
God's grace and mercy be your constant companions, in Jesus name, amen.
Everyone, please help a little girl who is not feeling so encouraged at the moment. Because of her biracial heritage she is being rejected by her family and classmates. Her dad Reggie is a super supporter of Sen. Obama and a great dad, he is trying to make one of her wishes come true. Please read her story!
After reading her story if you would follow the instructions from HQ you could be one of her Fairy godparents. Please Help!

So far so good senator, you have not missed a step, keep making us proud!
Hurry back, I want to hear all about your trip. Stay safe, and have a great time.
God thank you for being there with him and keeping him safe and letting him find favor with those he meet and greet. Continue to be with him and protect him and all who travel with him, and bring him safely back home to us. In the precious name of Jesus the Christ, amen.
