My fellow Obama supporters, the state of Louisiana need you right this minute, and you can help from where you are via the internet.
The Shreveport Times, a paper in North Louisiana endorsed Sen. Obama today. This is a major thing as Obama will surely lose Louisiana as it is a solid red state.
The comments readers are posting as a result of the endorsement are absolutely outrageous! I warn you it will make your blood boil. But please don't return with more incendiary posts. Instead read the endorsement and reply with calm thought provoking facts about why you are supporting Sen. Obama. Respond in the fashion that you know he would do.
Please do so immediately as others may read your responses and something in their hate filled hearts may change as they go to vote. You have done so much to get Sen. Obama this far, please do this one additional thing. (Continue reading to find out how to help)
At 106 years old, this beautiful lady in Atlanta can say and vote for whomever she choose, and she chose Obama. It really made me smile, enjoy:

I haven't blogged here in ages, too busy on the cyberspace front lines, LOL But I did want to share this in light of all of the Joe the Plumber spin going around today.
If you have not already seen it, PLEASE watch Obama's total unedited conversation with Joe, it is awesome!!!! Go Obama! You may want to email it to all you know to fight the republican spin which is VERY WRONG as you will see:http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=6031110
I'm looking forward to 11/4/08 and I hope it will be the beginning to a long relationship with all of you wonderful Obama supporters!
I can't believe the latest tactics! See below..
Here in Louisiana they have started to attack Obama via attack ads on a Dem that is running for congress here, Don Cazayoux. All day long they have been running ads that say a vote for Cazayous is a vote for Obama. I wasn't even that crazy about Cazayoux (I support some of his issues but not all) however after this I will definitely be voting for him!

They've started a similar tactic in NC today also:

This is the GOP way of getting HRC to win so they can beat her in the fall, do what you can to fight against this... now!
Please donate now, either via the main donation page or my personal fundraising page http://my.barackobama.com/page/outreach/view/main/beta98beta.
If you live in La, please consider supporting Don Cazayoux, show them if you push Obama supporters we push back! http://www.doncazayoux.org/ (the website appears to be taking on a lot of traffic right now so be patient)
Please phone bank, talk to neighbors, friends, etc. and tell them to ignore the attack ads and do the research on Obama by coming to the Issues and Learn links on this website.
We've come to far to allow old fashioned slimy politics to put us back. Can we do this? Yes WE Can!!!
On a different topic, I've surpassed my fundrasing goal, yipee!!
Yes, I'm angry, I'm bitter and that is why I'm working as hard as I can for Barack Obama. I hate where our nation has been for the past few years, and I'm tired of being overlooked and neglected just because I happen to be a middle class American.
Does it make me a bad person because I'm honest enough to admit when I'm angry or bitter about something? Does it make Senator Obama a bad person to point out my bitterness when he recognizes it? And yes he is correct, I turn to my faith when I'm bitter. I ask the Lord to remove the bitterness from my heart, to heal my wounds, and to turn my anger into energy that can be used for improving the situation that made me bitter. What is wrong with me doing that, admitting it, and someone like Senator Obama explaining to others that behavior like mine is a natural human reaction to a problem or situation?
Are we turning into a world where people can no longer be honest about their emotions or how they cope with them when discussing them in a public forum?
I don't know, maybe I'm slow on the uptake but I really don't understand why the MSM and the HRC machine is making a big deal out of what Senator Obama said. But more importantly than that, I really don't understand why anyone would be offended by his statements, see them as elitist, or not vote for him because of them.
Senator Obama has made me more concerned about understanding the viewpoints of others, especially when they are different from my own. So if anyone was indeed offended, please explain why, I'm not baiting a debate, I just want to understand your feelings better so I can be more sensitive to your issues.
I'm staying away from the MSM as much as I can... or else I'll become even more bitter. They are taking a great race and turning it into a circus with every single word out of either candidate's mouth being scrutinized to the nth degree. I'm also no longer listening to anything HRC has to say, when I see her face I change the channel. Heaven forbid, if Obama happens to lose the nomination (Please don't let this happen) I may be forced to vote for her in the general (anyone other than McCain).
Every time Senator Clinton opens her mouth the chances of me giving her a vote in the general becomes less and less so I just don't listen to her at all anymore. But I must be honest and admit, even avoiding her statements doesn't help much. I hate the way she has ran this campaign and is sorely disappointed in her borderline tactics, I don't know if I can stomach yet another less than honest, tricky with the words, tricky with the American people President under any circumstances.
Finally, for the first time I'm disappointed in Senator Obama, he should not have apologized for his statements, he didn't do or say anything wrong. I think reexplaining them was okay, but to apologize for something when you didn't do anything wrong is unnecessary. But I realize this is about the polls and his advisors probably felt it was for the best, I just wish he would have stuck to his guns on this one. I don't want a leader that is as unable to admit a mistake as GW Bush, but I don't want one that admit mistakes when none exists either.
However, I will be understanding about Senator Obama's apologizing since I'm sure he is getting pushed hard over gaining ground in PA and is worn out from a campaign that has gone on for entirely too long.
Once again we are treated to more great prose, this time from Toni Morrison. Obama brings out the best in those that love and respect the power of the written word... Toni Morrison's letter:
Dear Senator Obama,
This letter represents a first for me--a public endorsement of a Presidential candidate. I feel driven to let you know why I am writing it. One reason is it may help gather other supporters; another is that this is one of those singular moments that nations ignore at their peril. I will not rehearse the multiple crises facing us, but of one thing I am certain: this opportunity for a national evolution (even revolution) will not come again soon, and I am convinced you are the person to capture it.
May I describe to you my thoughts?
I have admired Senator Clinton for years. Her knowledge always seemed to me exhaustive; her negotiation of politics expert. However I am more compelled by the quality of mind (as far as I can measure it) of a candidate. I cared little for her gender as a source of my admiration, and the little I did care was based on the fact that no liberal woman has ever ruled in America. Only conservative or "new-centrist" ones are allowed into that realm. Nor do I care very much for your race[s]. I would not support you if that was all you had to offer or because it might make me "proud."
In thinking carefully about the strengths of the candidates, I stunned myself when I came to the following conclusion: that in addition to keen intelligence, integrity and a rare authenticity, you exhibit something that has nothing to do with age, experience, race or gender and something I don't see in other candidates. That something is a creative imagination which coupled with brilliance equals wisdom. It is too bad if we associate it only with gray hair and old age. Or if we call searing vision naivete. Or if we believe cunning is insight. Or if we settle for finessing cures tailored for each ravaged tree in the forest while ignoring the poisonous landscape that feeds and surrounds it. Wisdom is a gift; you can't train for it, inherit it, learn it in a class, or earn it in the workplace--that access can foster the acquisition of knowledge, but not wisdom.
When, I wondered, was the last time this country was guided by such a leader? Someone whose moral center was un-embargoed? Someone with courage instead of mere ambition? Someone who truly thinks of his country's citizens as "we," not "they"? Someone who understands what it will take to help America realize the virtues it fancies about itself, what it desperately needs to become in the world?
Our future is ripe, outrageously rich in its possibilities. Yet unleashing the glory of that future will require a difficult labor, and some may be so frightened of its birth they will refuse to abandon their nostalgia for the womb.
There have been a few prescient leaders in our past, but you are the man for this time.
Good luck to you and to us.
Toni Morrison
Finally, amongst the hubbub in the media we hear a voice of reason from Caroline Kennedy. Her prose in this op-ed is thoughtful, intelligent, and honest. The fact that someone who respects their privacy so highly would speak out so publicly for Obama is a testament to how strong her support for him must be. I believe that Obama’s ability to motivate people and get them to move from their comfort zone to support his campaign is a testament to how he will be able to motivate people to work together in the government.
I'm hoping many will read Caroline’s editorial and even more will consider Obama. I hope they will realize it is not just about the experience of the candidate but also the character. Fortunately Obama has both!
