Hey Obamians,
I took my personal picture off my profile and replaced it with an image created by my daughter Kourtnei, who will be voting for the first time. The image she's holding is a picture I took at the Democratic convention. The image in her sunglasses was taken at a Town Hall meeting in Plainfield, Indiana. I hope her art speaks to your heart as it did to mind. Enjoy!
I live in the Lawrence Township area. This morning I noticed on 82nd and Hague and 96th and State Road 37 there are Hillary signs posted on almost every utility pole. We need respresentation in this area too! What can I/we do to improve this situation?
I looked into my back yard this morning and felt something was different, but I could not put my finger on it. I gasped! I noticed my Obama sign was missing. I immediate ran to the front of my house. My Obama sign in my front yard was missing too! I looked to the right of my yard and saw that my neighbor's Mc Cain signs were still there. I looked further down the road and noticed my distant neighbor Hillary’s sign was still there as well. I yelled to my husband, "Hey my Obama signs are gone, and I'm calling the police to make a police report. My husband chuckled because he is a policeman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Dept. He was very sympathetic to my loss while explaining signs are stolen all the time. I took no solace in knowing this information. So to all of you that have Obama Signs in your yards be watchful because there is an Obama sign bandit(s) here in Indianapolis.
Short and sweet is how I would describe the Ft. Wayne Town Hall meeting. Barack portrayed the dream of MLK in a clear and concise manner. For example, from a micro level he explained how we can improve our families and communities. And, at the macro level he explained he would work with state and local government to reduce the drug flow in our country, in our communities, and in our homes. The sweet part of the Ft. Wayne Town Hall meeting is I got to sit on the platform directly behind him. I got to chat with him brief about The Wire (an HBO drama based on the inner city of Baltimore, Maryland), and he autographed my book the Audacity of Hope. Like I said, short and sweet(;-)
