I attended my first event yesterday on December 13 for Barack Obama. Before the election, I was working and did not have time to attend events. I made a few phone calls to North Carolina. Plus I voted for Obama. That was all I had time to do.
Now, I'm unemployed. I lost my job a week after the election. While I'm looking for work, I want to volunteer some time to the Obama message. The real work starts now. We need to stop the looters in Washington, D.C.
I early voted for Obama in Tennessee this morning. There was a long line of mixed ages. Usually I'm the youngest in line for early votiing, and I'm 56. Obama/Biden signs were everywhere in front of the polling place. No McPalin signs anywhere, although this is a "gimme" state for them.
Tennessee has only voted Democratic for Johnson, Carter and Clinton in my lifetime. We went Republican against John Kennedy (the anti-Catholic vote was huge) and all other times. Al Gore couldn't carry this state which would have given him the presidency without Florida.
I fear a large anti-black vote in the state. Don't call it the Bradley Effect, call it racism. That's what it is here.
Sen. Obama, you have my vote and have had it for a while. But I disagree with you about America is not stupid. America is stupid. We (not me) voted in George W. Bush for eight years. Unfortunately, I feel that Gov. Palin will be continuing the Bush Reign of ignorance over America. Have you listened to Green Day's American Idiot album recently?
Lay off this Pit Bull Bitch (she said it; I didn't). Ignore her. Go after McSame and Bush. Get back to your positive call for change in America. Your call for hope and no decisive politics.
I pray for your victory nightly.
America is stupid. Let's rally those of us who are well-educated enough to see beyond the Wag the Dog horror of the last eight years.
