His commitment to fighting for rural American values and rural American jobs is why he's earned the support of Sen. Jim Webb, and why a group of grassroots volunteers in Wytheville painted another Barn for Obama. Check it out here:
As president, Barack will promote infrastructure projects and technologies like clean coal that will create good, secure jobs in rural areas. He'll help rural Americans get the health care and schools they deserve by providing incentives and grants that will bring teachers and doctors back to rural towns.
And he will conserve more land for hunting and fishing and protect the rights of gun owners. Barack fights for rural values because, as he says, "rural values are American values." In Wytheville this week, a group of grassroots volunteers showed their support for Barack and his dedication to rural America by painting a local barn. Check it out:
Well, the most important thing you can do is go door to door this weekend and spread the message that Barack has real solutions to the very real mess the last eight years have gotten us in. You can also speak out by letting your friends and your local paper know what's at stake in this election, and that you're tired of the McCain campaign's petty, personal attacks. You can share this video with your friends or write a letter to the editor HERE.
"The fact is, we're in two wars, two of the longest we've ever been in. We've run up a third of our nation's debt in just the past eight years. We're in the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression," said Lilibet Hagel. "This isn't anti-McCain. This is pro-Obama. I'm just convinced he's the right person."
Due to an illness in the family, Joe Biden has unfortunately had to cancel his events tomorrow in Roanoke and Richmond. Indiana Senator Evan Bayh will be headlining those community gatherings instead. Please call our office at 1-877-804-2008 if you have any questions.
David Wade, Sen. Biden's comminucations director, issued the following statement:
The campaign has cancelled Senator Biden's schedule today and tomorrow because of a serious illness in Jill Biden's family. Hospice has advised the Bidens to remain close by, and we appreciate everyone's respect for the family's privacy.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Biden family tonight.
Country and Bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley is from Southwest Virginia. He was born there, he still lives and works there, and let's just say he has no plans to leave anytime soon. Ralph has seen first hand the impact eight years of George Bush's policies have had on the rural communities of this great state he calls home, and he knows that Virginia just can't afford four more of the same. That's why he's recorded a special radio spot endorsing Barack and encouraging his fans and his neighbors to vote for change. Read more about Barack's plan to reinvest in rural America and listen here to Ralph's pitch:
Now is the time. Help get America back on track by registering voters with us this weekend.
Barack Obama is the only candidate who has consistently honored the service of those who wear and wore our nation's uniform.
He's the only candidate who has voted to fully fund the Veteran's Administration time and again, and the only candidate that has been serious about fighting to get our veterans the benefits they deserve.
Watch this video of Virginia veterans and military families discussing why electing Barack Obama is essential for those who care about honoring America's commitment to veterans:

Last night, while Barack was making history, he looked out in the front row and saw not power brokers or Washington insiders, but ordinary Americans who have volunteered and donated to this campaign.
One of those Americans was Richmond native Tranice Johnson, who was chosen to meet Barack backstage at Mile High before his speech, because he wanted to hear her story. Here it is:
