It is easy to see why Barack Hussein Obama excites most Americans. To some his strongest traits seem to be his charm, charisma, and good looks. Senator Obama has inspired people around the world to get involved in the world and to be a positive force instead of a cynical, violent animal. Senator Obama is a well-intentioned, cautious, and a literary person. Senator Obama seems to be inspired by good intentions to help people and improve society. Unlike McCain, he isn't afraid to push forward with controversial initiatives or do things that might threaten his political career. Senator Obama could have become a succesful corporate lawyer, but having chosen a career in Politics, he has to overcome the notion that a Harvard educated man couldn't be one of "the people." If going to the South Side of Chicago and getting deep into their struggles doesn't make you one of the people, nothing will. More significantly, he has to overcome prejudice against minorities that has prevented any minority from becoming President. The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all. We need People who can dream of things that never were. We are OneAmerica, We are Barack Hussein Obama!
As normal as a kid you grew up with next door, this girl speaks as a women of America. She took the words out of my mind, SHE IS SO SMART! LOL I LOVE IT! This is the WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY TO CHANGE HOW THE WORLD SEES US AMERICANS.

The next President gets our checkbook that is based on our tax revenue that is collected from the people and corporations. Spending is going to happen on the WAR or Domestic Interests, and that is why we collect taxes. Without discussing any changes to the current plan, Democrats have a right to spend on Domestic Interests and not be mischaracterized by Republicans, and Republican have the right to spend on WAR and not be mischaracterized by Democrats. Glad that is solved. You can vote for WAR spending or Domestic Interest Spending, this is your choice and right as a voter.
Now the two candidates have some changes they would like to install. There will be creative destruction and they have to pick and choose their allies in the energy game. We must compete and stay ahead in industries where we are leaders. We need American policy, not Democrat or Republican policy, and we don't have to give executives 400 times the salary of workers, when Japan gives their executives 10 times the salary of the workers. Everyone can't live like the U.S. on oil. Brazil is the great example of an alternative choice that works.
I would be on an AirPlane to Brazil if I were Governor of California. I don't know how much creative destruction would occur due to importing sugar ethanol and the cars that run on sugar refined ethanol, but I would convert ASAP, and let the corporate losers suffer or get on the ball. Then I would invest in other non-food forms of energy and get my electrical infrastructure in order and plan in that direction.
The possibility of Global Inflation may impact the ability to make changes. Subsidies are in many economies that are counterbalanced by US Subsidies and policies. More importantly, Global Warming politics hasn't really kicked in. It may never kick in which leaves us waiting for a real crisis to get the politicians to move. There will be some creative destruction. It is a regime change. While foreign countries are spending our consumer dollars from oil and gas price inflation on their infrastructure, parts of our infrastructure are crumbling. That makes AR spending unpopular and Domestic Spending popular. The fallout is simply creative destruction. You can buy goods from your neighbor which will give him the dollars to fix his house but if your house is crumbling you need to get more creative even if that means cutting back on spending on his goods that are life sustaining.
Diplomatic energy games may paralyze new policies but they can't keep you from deciding to fix your own house.
What impresses me most is that Barack didn't have an internal movement that was a catalyst to become a community organizer. What made him want to help people versus help himself to a big piece of the American pie as a capitalist? 20 years later the problems on the South Side of Chicago seem to be hanging around and prove to be much more than one man can tackle. I think Barack developed a slow burning internal fire that we wear only on our sleaves when we see poverty, oppression, or injustice. Most importantly, Chicago has a culture of people who have been on the ground fighting for the poor for years. Somehow Barack discovered these people and knitted himself into that world to build what I believe is the character that Malcolm X bestowed upon the American intelligentsia. X is one of the most articulate ex-thugs I have ever heard in my life. I am very proud of you Barack, regardless of how you discovered this magnificent path in life. Target your tax hikes on people who earn over $1,000,000. You said it, "They are the Winners."
In my humble opinion, what makes him attractive to voters was said best by my brother Cornel West, "He just doesn't seem as angry as me."
Notice McCain never discusses the costs of war. It i like never discussing the cost of college for your child and then discovering you can't right another check after the second year.

The Iraq War has cost Americans well over $1 trillion. According to a study by the Democratic Staff of Congress' Joint Economic Committee, entitled "The Hidden Costs of the Iraq War," "The economic costs to the United States of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan so far total approximately $1.5 trillion... That amount is nearly double the $804 billion the White House has spent or requested to wage these wars through 2008." The report also calculates that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have already cost the typical family of four more than $20,000. As the report notes, "The full economic costs of the war to the American taxpayers and the overall U.S. economy go well beyond even the immense federal budget costs already reported." Unlike previous assessments, these estimates look at the conflicts; "'hidden costs'-- including higher oil prices, the expense of treating wounded veterans and interest payments on the money borrowed to pay for the wars." [Washington Post, 11/13/07]
Staying the course in Iraq could cost an additional $2 trillion. While the war in Iraq has already incurred a tremendous cost on American taxpayers and the American economy, staying the course in Iraq is a choice that would have huge additional costs. It is estimated that staying the course in Iraq could cost an additional $2 trillion in total economic costs, including interest payments for war-related debt payments.
