The Amazing Community of Obama Supporters

We have all recently shared the extreme strain in our finances due to the rising costs of gasoline, groceries, insurance premiums, etc. - you name it, it now costs more. One thing that doesn't seem to be rising with the costs of living is salaries. People are struggling to simply live, some barely making it from payday to payday with no other source of income to fall back on. Yet, every day, I read people's stories of how they finally found a renewed hope in the message of Senator Barack Obama, and their amazing stories unfold. People who never had an interest in the political system before now have suddenly stood up and made their voices heard. And, they are working together in ways that no one would have imagined only several years ago. People who were complete strangers only months before have joined together because of their common beliefs in the issues that they share with Senator Obama. I am amazed every day at the struggling college students who still manage to donate a few dollars here, and, a few dollars there to the campaign; the people who are actually giving away their extra frequent-flyer miles to ones who are more flexible and able to go work the upcoming primary locations, and the people who are meeting up and carpooling to primary locations. There are shy, quiet people who have suddenly found the courage to pick up a phone and dial complete strangers in another state and ask them to vote for Senator Obama, and, there is the overall friendliness and comradery shared in the blog posts by Democrats, Independents, and Republicans who try to befriend and educate the unruly few who pop in the see what all of the fuss is about. Recently, I realized another fact - people from all over the world were stopping by the website to give their well-wishes and support for Senator Obama! As we continue to work harder to reach our ultimate goal of having Senator Obama reach the Presidency of the United States, I can look around me at all of the wonderful, caring, hardworking people, and know that we are truly what the spirit of America is all about.
