Hello. I have been a supporter for several months and have read some of the blogs but have had yet to post. So, I wanted to take a moment to say why I support Obama and begin posting on this awesome blog.
I am a senior in high school, about to graduate, and am very excited to be voting for the first time this November. I never imagined myself considering a Democratic candidate. Both of my parents are strong Republicans (although I have convinced my father to vote for Obama in November) and I was a member of Teenage Republicans for three years in high school.
However, over the past few years of Bush, I began to realize that not everything the Republican party has done was for the benefit of the country. Iraq is a war that never should have been started, and the Republican nominee only wants to continue that. And I could go on, but you already know the differenced between these two candidates.
So, I found Barack Obama. I liked his message of unity and his judgement that Iraq was wrong before we invaded. As a student preparing to go to college next fall, I really like Obama's tuition credit plan to make college more affordable. I like the idea of talking not only to our friends but to our enemies.
I may not vote Democratic in every election in the future, but Obama has my vote this November.
