Barack Obama is a man of law whose leadership reflects the traditions of lawyers who have helped deliver justice to the disenfranchised and give a voice to those who have often been neglected by our society.
Senator Obama is judged based on the content of his massage rather than the content of his skin.
The [Darfur] movement has had a profound effect.
"I realized that that if I really believe its about making a change, I had to take a position and I felt in my heart that this was the right thing to do. This guy is the real deal. He has the vision and personal skills we need... I knew I needed to [support him]."
In Senator Obama, we see a candidate who does what to me is the most important thing we can do in this election: And that's to change the course of American politics. People want a change, and they want a candidate who is not so much about partisanship, but about making government work better for people, bringing people together and finding new ways to tackle some of the many challenges we have.

[Barack understands the urgency that's needed] to take care of those veterans that come back and help them get what they need, to get the care they need and not have to drive thousands of miles to get it, or spend hundreds of dollars to get it. He understands that there are 200,000 veterans that are homeless. He's made a pledge to make sure that the people who have served our country get the service they need. He understands that a lot of people leaving the military get lost just because there's no transfer of records. He understands that this is going to take a different kind of VA, a different kind of medical system that provides more comprehensive and longer care for our wounded warriors.
Obama is going where the votes are with a grassroots effort that might cause bouts of envy among his competitors.
We all get caught up in polls, but organization tends to build and finish strongly in delivering votes.
"...that in 2012, no one will be on the ballot if they don't come with a marching band."
This is the first time I've ever done something like this. I don't normally talk about politics in my public life, but I felt so strongly about Barack -- so powerfully about this man, that I had to speak out. I had to get involved.
"It is just something I have to do."
I can't do everything on my own...I need you to turn the TV off when your children are watching it instead of doing their homework.
"You can support Senator Obama for a hundred different reasons, but at the end of the day politics is about reaching out to people in the simplest, truest form - in person, in the flesh, listening to Americans' stories and talking with them about what they want from their leaders. Barack Obama understands that, and it was an unbelievably inspiring experience to get out and connect with voters in South Carolina. There is, quite simply, nothing like it."
