What's in a Name?

Hello fellow and fella Obama supporters!

As many of you know, there are a couple of media pundits out there who seem to think that everyday Americans are going to ignore their health care woes, gas price gouging, etc. etc. and suddenly decide to not support our man Barack Obama because his middle name happens to be Hussein, which is quite common around the world (you know, as common as names like John, Bill, etc. are popular here in the USA!)

This lame attempt to try to stop Barack's momentum is laughable.

Anyway, I read a few posts today of some other supporters who were signing all of their posts, replies, EVERYTHING with their first name and then with Hussein as their middle name. It's our way of standing up and saying, "Hey, we are behind President Barack Hussein Obama" and we are the change that WE have been waiting for and WE THE PEOPLE won't childish tactics sway our vote!!

So, what's in a name? A rose by any other name is still a rose :-)

After a four year wait...

Today, I voted early in Texas and I also was able to volunteer at his townhall meeting in Duncanville. Barack, er I mean, PRESIDENT Obama, somehow managed to hear me practically begging him for a hug while dozens of people were waiting for him to walk around and shake hands. By miraculous means, and in the midst of thousands of people cheering in the auditorium, he heard me, and even though he had already stepped away, he came back to give me a hug. Imagine that... A vote, a hug, another step in the winding road of the campaign trail.

Thank you, Barack, for giving America it's hope back. Thank you for all that you do, Barack because it has made a world of difference in my life, my long, long life of 28 years :-) I remember the exact moment in my life when I knew when I would be voting for you Barack..... It was July 2004 at the DNC Convention, halfway through the keynote address when you said "We worship an awesome God in the blue states" and later went on to remind all of us that whether red, white, black or blue, we are all the United States of America.

The next day at work, I printed a copy of the keynote address heard "round the world" Four years later, I casted my vote....

Thank you, Barack for being a patriot and a friend of the working class.

Silent Gathering Near DNC HQ

Gathering

Saturday, March 8, 2008 12:00 noon (EST)

Where:

ACROSS the street from
Democratic National Committee HQ
430 S. Capitol St. SE Washington, D.C.

Why:

WE THE PEOPLE are gathering to remind ourselves, our leaders and our nation that WE THE PEOPLE are the true "superdelegates" of our nation.

On Saturday, March 8, 2008 at 12:00 noon (EST), we will stand in peaceful silence. This silent gathering is symbolic of the silencing of our voices, should the DNC convention be brokered.

The DNC Superdelegates need to vote according to how the citizens of this country are voting and not for what is good for their own political careers! The voters have spoken! We are taking a stand against allowing the seating of delegates to occur that were based on illegal primaries in Florida and Michigan. We demand a fair nomination that is reflective of FAIR voting procedures. Enough is Enough!

Please forward to other voters who want to "Stand-In", stand up, and be counted. This is a peaceful gathering and we will allow the strength of our collective silence to be the most powerful message.
