So we all have been having problems getting Obama for President gear. I finally received my campus visibility pack about a week ago. To stretch out the usage of my stickers, I stuck as many that could fit on a cardboard envelope used to mail me some other buttons I ordered. I was able to fit about 40 stickers on the cardboard. I then cut the circles out and I found as many large safety pins I could find. I used my glue gun to glue the pins to the back of the cutouts to make homemade buttons. Unfortunately, I only had seven large safety pins.
Today, I went shopping for more pins. I checked several stores on my way back home from visiting my mother. The first store had them for $2.59, too expensive. The next two stores didn’t have them at all. The last store was across the street from a psychic, a palm reader. She was outside the store advertising her services and trying to bring in new customers.
My car was parked right next to the door of the store where I purchased the pins. She greeted me as soon as I stepped out of the door. She immediately asked, “When was the last time you had a reading?” Now, I have no faith in such things. However, I did have a reading some years ago when I was at some fair just for laughs. So I told her it was some years ago. She said she was going to do me a favor because she was picking up some strong vibes from me that she felt I urgently needed assistance with. She said, “I sense that you have something on your mind. Something that I could give you knowledge to help you see your way through to reaching your goal. There is someone in your life that is on your mind day and night. You think of him when you wake up, you think of him when you go to bed at night. He is constantly on your mind.” I think of him so much I want other to know how much I think of him as I arrive and as I am driving off. I have an “Obama 08” sticker on my front bumper and I have one on my back bumper. So at that moment I did a Bob Barker model style hand gesture toward my rear bumper and said, “It’s Obama!” She inquired, “Who?” Can you believe it? She had the nerve to ask, “Who?” Goodness, I live in Newark, NJ. Who? She has no clue of what is going on in the world around her, much less what must be going on in the most secret parts of my life. So secret to me that I would need her assistance to help me figure it out.
I explained to her that he is running for President. She asked, “Do you I want him to love you?” I further explained I just want to make sure he gets elected and I am working day and night to ensure that he does get elected. She was still confused. She continued to try to convince me I was looking for love; there must be some man that I daydreaming about or loosing sleep over that she has the key to for me. When I told my mother about my encounter she told me I should have asked her where the unregistered voters were.

I didn't even watch any of the Sunday morning news shows today. I saw the lineup on HuffingtonPost last night and decided then that it wasn't going to be a good news day for Senator Obama. You know how they were fretting about Obama not going to Iraq and Afghanistan for years? Over the weekend the Obama Campagn informed us all he would be traveling to the warring regions and other countries possibly next month. Well, the ABC evening news opened with the headline: "Why are the candidates traveling outside the country when there is so much going on here with the economy", or some such shit. I turned of the television before the news began. Where was the outcry when McCain was on his economic tour across the country and he included a stop in Canada last week? We all know how the media is going to cover Sen. Obama in the general election; they will batter him even worst than they did during the primary election. We have to not boost their ratings by watching their programs, not totally turning them off because we must monitor them. However, we must not over indulge to hype their popularity.
Taking all of this in to consideration, I will continue to fully support Sen. Obama. He has so little time to accomplish so much. I don't think I will raise the bar on him any more while he tries to win the White House. He has impressed me with jumping the moving bar during the primaries and caucuses. His competition and the MSM will do that enough throughout the general election. Yes, we must keep the pressure on to let all the politicians know what we expect from them. I will hold all in power and those in leadership positions fully responsible. When Sen. Obama is President Obama, then I’ll let him have it for not fighting harder to do the work for the people. Right now, I am going to give his campaign every spare dime, I am going to volunteer as much as I can, and I will talk him up at every opportunity.
