I came up with a great "grass roots" idea to punch home the "John McCain's 7 houses" story. I created a yard sign that is for sale on Cafe Press. It says "Sold... to John McCain. House #12"
I will be donating all the procedes to "Obama for America". I have no interest inmaking money off of this.
According to an analysis performed by a non-partisan group, McCain's top fundraisers and aides have collected nearly $1 billion in fees from U.S. companies in the past decade -- specifically, $930,949,819. the group also found that those very same companies have given nearly $12 million to McCain's presidential campaign, so far.
This is the same John McCain who once said "too often the special interest lobbyists with the fattest wallets and best access carry the day when issues of public policy are being decided."

After a sting of 4 negative ads against Barack Obama, John McCain just decided to roll out 2 more:
The One
Barack Obama Forgot Latin America
As for the secondone, this from the HuffingtonPost-
John McCain's advisers are doing their best to convince media outlets that they're not interested in talking about race ever again, though that message might become more difficult to push if they keep sending out new web ads meant to stir up racial uncertainty about Barack Obama. No, not among white people, but Latinos. Perhaps it's meant to be all in good fun. But someone at McCain HQ evidently thinks it's really important that, in his speech from Berlin, Barack Obama neglected to cite a Latin American country. The new web ad, which features exclusively Spanish-language super-titles and a saucy Latin percussion rhythm, is entitled: "Barack Obama Forgot Latin America." Another point of potential humor: at first blush, the negative reaction to Obama's speech in conservative circles was focused around the "citizen of the world" line. Now, apparently, Obama is at fault for not citing enough foreign nations in his speech.
I have an idea for a comercial that Barack Obama should run ASAP.
The set-up is simple. Have Sen. Obama sit in a chair in a den or home library setting. Talk straight to the camera. One take, no cut aways. The text is as follows:
"When I set out to run for president, i decided it was time to change the way politics is run in Washington. At times, I must confess, I have slipped from that a little. But, I want to make a promise to the American people. Unlike my opponent, I will not run all negative ads. Yes, we may contrast our policies... the American people deserve to know how we differ. But, these negative ads are not acceptable. It's time to change politics in America..... I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message."
Dear Sen. Barack Obama,
In the recent weeks, John McCain has decided that issues dont matter to the American people and has turned his attention to attacking you personally. In his most recent case he implied you were a "troop hater" (quote from HuffingtonPost). Please dont fall into this standed GOP style attack. Dont fall for the Karl Rove politics. Please, stay on the issues. Stay positive. Dont stoop to McCain's level. Whatever honor he actualy had is now gone in my eyes. Show that you represent new politics. Prove the politics and fear and hate are in the past.
Change Politics. Change America.

The current trend is to reach an agreement on a memorandum of understanding either for the departure of the forces or a memorandum of understanding to put a timetable on their withdrawal...In all cases, the basis for any agreement will be respect for the full sovereignty of Iraq.
In 2004, John McCain was asked if he would withdraw from Iraq if asked:
Question: "What would or should we do if, in the post-June 30th period, a so-called sovereign Iraqi government asks us to leave, even if we are unhappy about the security situation there?" McCain's Answer: "Well, if that scenario evolves than I think it's obvious that we would have to leave because -- if it was an elected government of Iraq, and we've been asked to leave other places in the world. If it were an extremist government then I think we would have other challenges, but I don't see how we could stay when our whole emphasis and policy has been based on turning the Iraqi government over to the Iraqi people."
Just moments ago the McCain campaign responded:
today, his top foreign policy adviser declined to criticize Maliki or distance McCain from him. And they sought to portray Maliki's comments as consistent with the Republican nominee's long-standing position. "Senator McCain has always said that conditions on the ground -- including the security threats posed by extremists and terrorists, and the ability of Iraqi forces to meet those threats -- would be key determinants in U.S. force levels" On Tuesday, McCain's campaign declined to respond directly to the question of whether he now supports the idea of setting a date for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country. Speaking on MSNBC Tuesday morning, McCain said that "The fact is that we and the Iraqis will deal in what is in the national security interests of both countries. And there is no reason to assume that the Iraqis aren't going to act in what they perceive as their national interest. I believe we will enact ours and I believe we will all come home."
OOPS! Looks like a shift in position to me. They asked us to leave... his response: "well... umm... conditions on the ground are what matter most, not what they ask"
Remember: In 2004, John McCain said we would leave if asked.. now he seems to be ignoring that stance and conditions on the ground are what matter most.

MoveOn, the advocacy group supporting Barack Obama, has decided to permanently shutter its 527 operation, partly in response to the Illinois Senator's insistence that such groups should not spend on his behalf during the general election, I've learned from the group's spokesperson.MoveOn's decision, which will dramatically impact the way it raises money on Obama's behalf, is yet another sign of how rapidly Obama is taking control of the apparatus that's gearing up on his behalf. By shuttering its 527, MoveOn is effectively killing its ability to raise money in huge chunks from labor unions, foundations, and big donors who would give over $5,000. The decision doesn't mean MoveOn will stop spending on Obama's behalf. Instead it will raise money exclusively with its political action committee, whose average donation is below $50 and will even be raising money with things like bake sales starting this weekend. The move could also make it tougher politically for John McCain and the GOP to benefit from 527s, which can raise money in unlimited sums, on his side. While he has generally disapproved of such activity, he recently said that he couldn't control negative ads by such groups. "The hope is that Republicans will match this, so that the voices of ordinary Americans can drive this election," Hogue said.

Hillary Clinton likes to make the argument that at the end of the election, she will have more popular votes and that of this moment she has the popular vote lead. Of course, this includes FL and MI. What is interesting about MI is that Obama wasn't on the ballot.
I recently ran across an exit poll from MI:
If these had been the candidates on the ballot today, for whom would you have voted in the Democratic presidential primary?
Hillary Clinton - 46%John Edwards - 12%Barack Obama - 35%
Based on my numbers, Obama currently leads the national popular vote +468,909.With FL and not MI, Obama +174,137.With FL and MI (MI based on exit polls), Obama +108,753.
I just listened to a part of Bushs speech yesterday. He talks about talking to terrorists and rogue regimes. He says "Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along."Now, today we hear that Bush was in Saudi Arabia begging the government to increase oil production... as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along.
This is the same country with heavy links to 9/11. A country with people and leaders who have supported terrorism and, of course, the homeland of Osama Bin laden. A country that is litterally laughing all the way to the bank with record high gas prices.
I thought we did talk to people like that Mr. Bush.
Today, John McCain said "By January 2013, America has welcomed home most of the servicemen and women who have sacrificed terribly so that America might be secure in her freedom. The Iraq War has been won." FOr those who need a quick math update: that is 5 years from now. In 2013, the Iraq War will have gone on for 10 years. This is not acceptable.Barack Obama has pledged immediate troop withdrawal the moment he steps into the White House next January. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. That is complete withdrawl from Iraq by May or June of 2011, a full 2 years prior to McCain's "best case scenario".
In January, John McCain said we should be in Iraq for 100 years. He later amended the statement and said that he meant 100 years after peace in Iraq and no more Americans are dying. He then added we might be there 1,000 years or 10,000 years. Under John McCain's plan, we will be out of Iraq by roughly 2113. Or maybe 3113. Maybe even 12,113.
Do you really want American troops in Iraq until 2113? Vote Obama in November. He's the only choice to get us safely out of Iraq and end the needless deaths of hard working American troops
Yesterday, Kiki McClean (a Clinton supporter) was on MSNBC and was asked if there was anything between yesterday and today that might cause undecided voters or even Obama voters swing to Clinton.
She said it could happen when spouses sit round the dinner table that evening talking about who to vote for or..... this morning when they are in their car and they hear something they have never heard before. hmmm.... take those comments and combine that with what Bill Clinton said on the radio yesterday (it just hit the press this morning) saying: “I think that they played the race card on me. We now know, from memos from the campaign that they planned to do it along.” Of course he proveded no details as to where he found out about these so called memos. And there is no information these actually ever existed. He simply stated it as fact.
Looks like this MAY have been a planned hit on Obama.
Update: Bill Clinotn is now denying he ever said it!
NBC/NJ: “Sir, what did you mean yesterday when you said that the Obama campaign was playing the race card on you?”CLINTON: “When did I say that, and to whom did I say that?”NBC/NJ: “On WHYY radio yesterday”CLINTON: “No, no, no. That’s not what I said. You always follow me around and play these little games, and I’m not going to play your games today. This is a day about election day. Go back and see what the question was, and what my answer was. You have mischaracterized it to get another cheap story to divert the American people from the real urgent issues before us, and I choose not to play your game today. Have a nice day.”NBC/NJ: “Respectfully sir, though, you did say …”CLINTON: “Have a nice day.”

Hillary Clinton and some other sources have been saying recently that Obama can not win the general election against john McCain. Well, here is the roadmap. Barack Obama can win the following states, and if he does, will be the next president of the United States:
Washington, Oregon,, California, Nevada, Colorado, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Virgina, Maryland, Delaware, Washington DC, Pennsylvania (or Ohio), New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Maine. The states in bold are "swing states".

The states in bold are "swing states".
This would give Obama 275 of the 270 needed electoral college votes.
Barack Obama has taken the lead over Hillary Clinton 45-43 in Pennsylvania, according to the newest survey from Public Policy Polling. It ’s a remarkable turn around from PPP’s last Pennsylvania poll, conducted two and a half weeks ago, that showed Clinton with a 26 point lead in the state.

Digg It!
Talk about getting BEYOND desperate and stretching comments to an extreme. They are saying Obama said the length of the campaign is the "Bataan death march" and/or it might be a "good thing".
Note the final line in Clinton's HUBdate..
Obama v. Obama: Sen. Obama on the primary: “good thing” or “Bataan death march”?
The problem... he never said it! Well, not in that context at least. The REAL quote was that he said some people feel the campaign is a "Bataan death march" since in the end the democrats will be DOA (Dead on Arrival) in the general election. HOWEVER, he was really telling people to just relax and it will all be ok in the end. Hillary Clinton actively distorted his words to make it seem as if HE was the one who thought it was a death march. He does not.
I really have lost all respect for Hillary Clinton's campaign. Not that I had much left to begin with.
Last Tuesday, Baracak Obama realesed his tax returns from 2000-2006. Hillary Clinton said she was happy to see them released and added about her own returns: "shortly, I hope within the next week."
Well, it's been 6 days. According to my calcualtaions that means she should have her taxes in the public view by tomorrow. I hope she doesnt go back on her promise or have a "delay". I'd hate to see her caught in another lie again.
Keep the pressure on her.
