FORGET ABOUT CLINTON!!! : ) SHE HAS LOST THIS RACE ALREADY.
Obama is still ahead by over 150 pledged delegates with super delegates still very very likely to switch from HRC to Obama in the next couple of weeks! We are FINE. I hope you can all relax and be confident while you make your calls and enjoy using this blog to talk about the challenges ahead.
Obama has already moved forward to focus on McCain, so perhaps we should all do the same and try to give Obama as much of a delegate lead as we can when our democratic contest is through.
There is no need to complain about anything HRC is doing or saying (or the media BS) this nomination race is essentially OVER already. Besides, after 3 months of this stuff it's got to be expected by now. I am never surprised by what comes out of their mouths...
Hillary is now officially the Democratic version of Huckabee. Did Hillary major in miracles and not math too? No matter, Huckabee failed his miracle test too, perhaps he should have majored in math after all.
JUST FOR HRC TO MAKE THE DELEGATE COUNT CLOSE: (Forget taking back the lead!)
HRC MUST win ALL of the remaining states, by about a 25 point margin from now on. Even if she manages to win every state, she HAS to win by more than 25 points, the less she wins in each contest she then has to win every following contest by larger and larger margins of victory... If she loses 4 contests she will have to start winning remaining contests by 70 points or more! Do you honestly think that is at all likely?
Consider the high probability that Obama will win about 9 or more of the remaining 16 contests, and you will see that a victory for HRC isn't going to take place.
OBAMA DOES NOT NEED TO GO NEGATIVE OR ATTACK HRC!!! Give that crap up it's ridiculous and you haven't been paying attention at all to Obama's message and his success if you think otherwise... I know this can be nerve racking for some, but don't you think you are just getting sucked into silly season a bit and omitting the likelihood that the nomination will eventually be ours?

I especially love that last bit... I don't even know how to poke fun at it, it's just too much. It boggles my mind to consider the possibility that they REALLY DON'T KNOW why she has such high negatives and that people don't feel she is trustworthy... just wow... really? THERE ARE PLENTY OF REASONS AS TO WHY SHE IS SO DISLIKED BY SO MANY. And I for one think it is extremely obvious.
Obama is right when he says this movement is not really about him. Cynics always try to say otherwise but only because they are so simple minded and short sighted, not to mention extremely biased. Obama is just a unique, powerful and inspiring character at this moment in time. All the candidates on the Dem side were pretty much delivering the same policy plans, but his message got through to the people and the PEOPLE are the ones making this movement happen. It is the American citizens that are living vicariously through Obama that are the ones making all of this possible.I support Obama because I am supporting all of you as well. I am giving my time and my efforts to help all of you reach for the future that we all seek together. That is this campaign, not just one man but one vision embraced by millions.
It is simply not enough to just vote for "someone" this time around. Our problems are too big now because they have been festering for so long. Yes, there is a youth movement underway to change our government. Those that respect and understand what we are fighting for are with us. Others that are either afraid of change, set in their ways, ignorant of what is going on or what is really at stake this time around, they are struggling to make sense of this movement. They try to dismiss us. They try to insult all of us, calling us a cult. It is their failure to realize what is happening that will ultimately cause them to fade away and miss out on this movement, or they will tag along later.
We needn't give them a hard time about any of this, they will be kicking themselves later for being so negative and falling for wild unjustifiable claims about Barack. If they don't take the time to do the research and carefully consider their sources, then they suffer the consequences. We can reach out to them politely and hope for the best, but there is no need for us to be pushy. Being aggressive and spiteful is the strategy for the other side of the argument. It is not what we are striving for.
We are doing well and we need to continue to work harder when we can afford to. I would not worry too much about the super delegate situation or the Michigan and Florida delegates. Any attempt to upset the majority vote will cause a huge and dangerous rift in our nation, especially when you consider the circumstances. The first minority candidate comes out on top only to have a court take it away from him? Or for a disproportionate number of people called super delegates, some of which stand to gain a lot from supporting one candidate over another, end up making the call for us and overshadowing our votes?
It is my firm opinion that super delegates are inherently undemocratic, and should be removed from politics. It is also frustrating to see all the votes being tallied, so we know exactly how many people voted for this candidate or that candidate, and somehow that is not the figure we rely on to make the decision... Why would you want to avoid a fair and unarguable head count? Keep it simple stupid. It sounds cold and perhaps a bit insulting but the premise is that by keeping it simple you avoid major complications like what we are faced with now. Practicality matters, case and point; This primary season! 2000 and the 2004 elections!
Enough is enough! it is a terribly flawed system, we don't need another more complicated system. If one candidate gets more votes from the PEOPLE, THEY WIN! Woo hooooo!
Okay, I feel as though I have made my points clear enough.
I thank all of you that are supporting Obama, and one another. We can do this. Yes We Can!
A FAIR WARNING TO ALL OBAMA SUPPORTERS:
I have noticed tensions rising and getting the better of us at times. It is not just me though, a number of you have contacted me through emails and my blog posts to let me know that you too have noticed the angst amongst our own supporters as they are dealing with negative comments or even just questions about Obama and his policies.
Many new people will be visiting our site to seek answers and SOME visit to stir things up a bit, perhaps to vent their frustrations. Let's drop the offensive TROLL issue, and address them with silence or simply report them to the site Administration while informing the user why they are being reported in as polite a manner as possible. The main thing we need to REMEMBER is the simple fact that ALL Obama supporters are also Obama representatives.
Also keep in mind that Obama has shown us how effective that humble confidence of his can be when addressing doubters. Don't be arrogant or aggressive, let's keep the negative emotions out of these blogs please.
Stay informative and polite, NO name calling, and NO negative assumptions should be made about new comers. Not all of them are really attempting to learn anything about Obama. Some come here with misguided intentions. If they don't take the time to read the information you are providing them and they continue to be ignorant of the facts that are being given to them.... MOVE ON. They are not being honest with us or themselves, and it is not prudent for us to get involved with a push and shove contest with them. Their intentions are not genuine if they refuse the truth. New users should be thankful that in our open forum their right to free speech is honored here, unlike the censorship that they are subjected to on other candidates websites.
Do your best to NOT be an embarrassment to other users here, and this positive movement for change. I am guilty of getting worked up and typing in things to our blogs that I shouldn't have. Everyone makes mistakes when they are under certain pressures, so just try to be ever mindful of who and what you are a part of.
We are ALL in this together, let us always WORK together.
Sincerely,
Seth W. Z. Robbins
Obama 2008 & 2012 !!!
As an Art Director I thought I could help lend my limited talents to this movement. This effort is all on my shoulders here, so it is not endorsed by the Obama campaign nor is it being supported or funded by the Obama campaign in any way. This campaign is supported by all of us and by doing so we are all supporting one another! So this is just another contribution that I thought would be helpful to you in your efforts to inform those that are uninformed.
Those that do not know Barack Obama very well and have their doubts about our candidate, only need a bit of friendly assistance in learning what we already know. Or for those that just believe any of the negative propaganda that is floating around out there.

We all saw different aspects of this non-issue, but I think this is a good way to bring about some real mental struggles for those die hard Hillary supporters if they get on your nerves. I don't think that Hillary perpetuated this race story, I do know that she did screw up when she said that Obama started it. But the Media is the crew that really pushed this story around. I get into that a bit more further down. Obama Refutes the race issue:http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=3713352nObama didn't start this fire and his campaign did not fan the flames. That was the Press, and Hillary bought their assumptions and tried to use that to spin this back onto Obama. Which if you think about it is foolish at best! Why on earth would Barack Obama bring this issue up after a full year of being on the campaign trial? Well... He didn't. And NEITHER did Hillary. The Press did! They take a suggestive clip, take it out of context and create a firestorm. It's good for their ratings, and bad for EVERYONE else. Meaning the country is the one that looses in the end because we end up getting showered with this kind of useless crap instead of learning about which candidate is really the best one for us right now.
Hillary gaffes again: http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=3706683n My two cents: She thinks the Obama camp fanned the flames when they never even commented on it until after she made her accusation that they did...? She perplexes me with her double standards and hypocritical behavior. It does, when all put together, illustrate that she is the weathervane of politicians in this race and she doesn't seem to think that is a bad thing somehow. Which ever way the wind blows she will follow along, and if the wind changes abruptly she gets shaky. Say anything until you get elected and then you can stop lying and do your work...? She is not my kind of candidate, she is simply one of the best of the worst kinds of politicians, and unless we want more deadlock and fighting in Washington we need to make a clean break from her brand of politics.
Further more;
Asked Tuesday at a Las Vegas, Nevada, debate about Johnson's comments, Clinton distanced herself from his remarks, saying, "Well, Bob has put out a statement saying what he was trying to say and what he thought he had said. And we accept him on his word on that."
But when asked whether Johnson's comments were out of bounds, Clinton said, "Yes, they were. And he has said that."
So Hillary, you are back to your double talk and not able to answer anything, not even the simple yes and no questions... Pathetic. You distance yourself from Bob's statement saying you believed him when he told you his comments were not intended to be negative, and yet on the very next question you say the exact opposite! Holy shit lady, what the hell is wrong with you!?
For those that still can't follow this:
She agrees with Bob in saying that they were not negative, and then just seconds later says they were out of bounds... Wow.
This is no leader ladies and gentlemen, this is a very confused and tired woman that I thought was very intelligent. Perhaps her tactic is to try and the divide and conquer methods of the Bush/Cheney/Rove efforts we have come to despise, but that is not what this country needs. United we stand divided we fall, and we are going to fall if she has her way. So I sincerely hope people that support her at least try to be more open minded and cynical of her. It's no mystery to the majority of the country or the world for that matter that the Clintons do use double talk and misleading negative attacks to try and dirty their opponents. The really sad thing is that too many people buy into it so easily.
You think it's over yet? Nope... Bob apologizes and does so because of an overwhelming wave of emails, phone calls from the public and high ranking officials for him to retract his statement... The Clintons were not among these people, not surprising since they like this kind of distracting controversy.
In Johnson's letter to Obama he wrote, "I'm writing to apologize to you and your family personally for the uncalled-for comments I made at a recent Clinton event. In my zeal to support Senator Clinton, I made some very inappropriate remarks for which I am truly sorry. I hope that you will accept this apology. Good luck on the campaign trail."
The link above points out what was by far my favorite exchange of the 01/06/08 debate. I have been bringing Barack Obama's political philosophy into conversations for some time now, since that is the first thing about him that really solidified my decision to vote for him. No president is going to be doing all of everything, and it takes someone with great intelligence that is also still humbled in a certain way that does not lack self confidence. It is a very rare quality in politics, and to be able to express that philosophy so well to the masses... that is the HUGE edge that Obama has over Hillary on the national stage. The president has to have the right judgement to select the right people for the right reasons, to take the right actions for the right reasons in all matters presidential. There is a weakness in Hillary's character, she is not an inspiring enough candidate. She has confidence and intelligence but she lacks the unique brand of empathetic humility to keep her from trying to take too much control. She is a sound candidate, and could do very well for this country, but not now, not yet. Obama is the one that can bring about the most positive change for this country and around the world. Eventually that message will sink into the heads of the overwhelming majority, and Hillary will have to secede from this race. The republicans, can't even compete with an Obama at this moment in history.
Every time I hear that, even from family members, the first thing I try to ask them is what they do know about Obama. And well, they don't really know much about him at all. Some think of only the negative attacks that Hillary's campaign has been responsible for, and rightly apologized about those few occasions. Often times they offer up information that is horribly wrong about him. You know, those claims that he is a muslim, or that he has been the one attacking Hillary. For those instances I have to focus and not get too upset with the person. If I can remain calm and politely respond with the facts, and end with "Honestly, have you ever seen any reports or occasions when the Obama campaign has had, or even been asked to apologize to the Hillary campaign? In the end though, the vast majority of people I talk to are either uninformed about other candidates, they support Obama, or they have not quite decided between Obama and Edwards.
My frustration is based almost entirely on those individuals who support one candidate over another without even spending at least 6-10 hours researching Obama, Biden, or any one other than Hillary. Wait... that came out wrong, they don't even really spend any time researching Hillary either. So here we have a very important part of our lives being overlooked for one reason or another. Perfectly good options for future presidents get lost in the shuffle of our daily lives. Obama in my opinion, and in so many hundreds of thousands of other peoples,(so many of them being analysts, reporters, and political scientist's opinions) could perhaps become one of those rare few presidents in history that have made this country great. Obama is slowly making his case for such a claim, and after all the time I have spent reading the good and bad news about him... If he isn't that kind of person, than no one is. To find out why anyone might think such an "Audacious" thing, you simply have to read the two books he has written. You may catch on just by researching his "real" past online.
Ever since I was convinced that Obama had the potential to radically change the course of American history for the better, I have tried to inform others about that guy with the funny name. The most successful way I have been able to gain support for Obama has been face to face with those that are in doubt. I love the reactions I get when they are stunned by so many of the impressive aspects of Obama's past. Every one keeps asking me if I, or telling me that I should, work for the campaign. I certainly do, but not officially. I have been trying to break out of this internal struggle of mine. I feel so strongly that Obama provides this country with an unbelievably bright opportunity. And yet I also have a hard time within those conversations because I feel awkward and do not like the sensation that I am being invasive.
We can all feel astounded at other peoples lack of attention to the campaigns, and the candidates. Don't bother getting upset or bothered by this though. There is no way of knowing why they have not been paying as much attention as others. I never have before this year. But I don't claim to know all of the candidates all that well and I have definitely spent a ton of time doing my research. Some of my friends suggest that I have spent too much time on this subject, and wonder just what the hell has gotten into me. I suppose hope, there is a bit of pride in my choice to support Obama, but mostly it's a strong sense of necessity that has changed me. I don't like where this country is going. in fact I hate it. As a nation we are divided, we lack a sense of direction. The world doesn't respect us as much as they used to, if at all. They do however fear what we will end up doing to them and to others.
I fear that far too many of our fellow citizens will miss the boat on this moment in history. I am certain that is what the Clinton camp is hoping for. It should be obvious to those that have been paying close attention that they are now scrambling to try and regain lost ground. There is strife within their ranks, and that to me is one massive reason as to why Hillary must not be next president. She is having a lot of trouble keeping her hired help organized and cohesive. Obama on the other hand has such a huge effort being waged on the ground by thousands upon thousands of supporters. And so many of them are getting involved in a political campaign for the first time in their lives. And yet you never hear of Obama having to explain why an organizer has had to leave his campaign, or why one of his top tier supporters has to step down. Well, Obama leads by example something he will do even more profoundly as our president. That gives me more hope than any poll or news report. Just knowing that all across this country people are taking time out of their daily struggles to make a difference in this election is enough to make me feel better. So thank you to all those that have given to this campaign.
Keep up the positive work. Keep informing those that have simply been out of touch with the reality of this countries political system. Don't be negative about anything, just stick to the background of Obama, and answer anyones concerns with the facts. Show them were they can double check these claims, and reassure them that Obama has the best chance to deliver on his promises because he can work with republicans and independents alike. Not just because he has done so before, but because he wants to. He truly does respect the other sides opinions. He will find the common ground that we can all walk on together. There is a better future for our country and for this world. Obama will bring his open mind, his keen intellect, his solid reasoning and sound judgement to the White House. The world will see, with some disbelief that America has just elected a man named Barack Obama to the be our President. To be our leader. That will be enough to put the whole world in a state of shock long enough for us to take advantage of it and repair so much of the damage the current administration has done.
I suppose it is okay to point out that Hillary does lose against all of the top Republican candidates in the general election. And of course you will want to follow that up with the fact that ONLY Barack Obama wins against ALL of them. That should get their attention.
If this man has managed to travel such an unlikely path to arrive at this point. Challenging what is arguably the most powerful political machine in the history of American politics to such an extent as to make that machine start to fall apart... how can anyone deny his ability to lead our country and choose Hillary instead? Don't you remember when Hillary was being touted as the inevitable choice for the nomination just 6 months ago? Now she is likely to lose in Iowa and New Hampshire, with South Carolina slipping away as well! Her campaign has had investigations into campaign funding fraud (a few times), and yet that has somehow been swept under the table. There were four occasions of planted questions in her audiences, and yet that has been quietly tucked away into a dark corner. With so many reasons not to elect Clinton, one has to wonder why people still cling to her. There is clearly something getting lost in the shuffle here. Some how a lot of people are not seeing what Obama supporters do.
The real problem we face as Obama supporters is simply informing the uninformed. We do not need to be negative about anything. All we must do is try to help others see and understand the person we have come to respect. He is a gentleman that I will be so very excited to vote for. i will feel secure in the future of my country once again. Even if he doesn't get the nomination, I will still be writing his name in the ballot for the general election, proudly.
Obama, Edwards, and Biden are all solid candidates. (I thought about Hillary for a while at first, months ago, {mostly because of Bill} but in the end...) It's hard not to say negative things about either of them now, but especially Hillary at this point.
I have decided, for a long time now, that the nod goes to Obama based on several solid points. While I do like Biden and Edwards, both of them clearly supported the Iraq war, and I think that hints towards a lack of good judgement. They were certainly influenced by the propaganda of the Bush administration and followed suit like so many others. But a true leader knows the best path to take, even when all others fail to see it.
First of all he has the most respectable background for someone that has proven themselves to be a true success story. He has seen the troubles of America first hand. He started out his career by helping those in need, and also has 12 years as an elected official within the united state government. Ten years as the senator for IL, and 2 years as the U.S. Senator for IL.
Secondly, Barack Obama has proven he has learned from past mistakes and that has helped shape is ability to make clearer judgements now. He was obviously opposed to the Iraq war before it began, and against all warnings from his advisors (because of public support for the war, not because they felt his position was wrong) he spoke out about the war publicly when it could have easily caused him to lose the race for the senate that year. Judgement trumps experience in some cases, because many times some people have lousy experiences and continue to make really bad decisions. Obama has proven that he knows what he is doing, and if he is unsure about something he knows how to find the right solution. I have also noticed from my research of Barack, that he listens very well, and genuinely believes that other peoples opinions do matter sometimes (imagine that). His policies show that he attacks problems from many angles not just a seemingly easy approach which in most cases is doomed to fail. I recall people describing his methods of problem solving as being carefully measured. During his campaign he as consistently pointed out how he will finance his agenda's without raising taxes on the middle class. Thankfully, he does ask that the wealthy people, who have had so much success because of the sacrifices of the middle class, to pay their fair share. And to reel in trillions in tax revenue from corporate loopholes where large companies try to hide their profits in offshore accounts and business that can't be traced.
A third point is that he has a profound ability to bring people together for the common good. That is a tremendously overlooked quality of leadership that Hillary and many other politicians either do not have, or do not come close to the level of inspiration that Obama provides to people. It is obvious to me that a president needs to be inspirational and empowering in the eyes of his citizens, but I guess many people have failed to realize such a concept.
A final point that I would like to make is Obama's broader appeal that reaches over seas to all countries around our world. That is crucial to the success of our country. He realizes that our popularity in the world after WWII was based largely on the fact that we helped rebuild Europe. Foreign aid is a huge plus for us, and will certainly hinder the terrorists efforts to rally people against us. He knows this, that is why he denounces conventional warfare against terrorism. Such attempts have never worked in the past. But if you do the opposite of what the terrorists are preaching to people than they have nothing to stand on. They can't accuse us of hating them when we are helping to improve their countries infrastructures with the construction of schools, hospitals, roads, etc. And why not places of worship? All of that would cost us thousands of times less than this war has already cost us, and the world would love us for it (generally speaking of course).
If you can pick apart the above reasons enough to NOT vote for Barack, then I hope you get to see him in action as our next president so that he can teach you a thing or two about how to lead.
