I can't underscore the importance of voting on Tuesday. Let's show Barack a victory in Virginia, even though everything has been against him from the beginning:
-Lies being spread about him by Republicans to create fear
-His race
-Attempts across the country to disenfranchise students, minorities, and other Democratic voters
Barack has put his time and energy into Virginia like no candidate ever before. Even his last rally is going to be in VA, in Manassas. Let's prove to him that Virginians don't fall for petty attempts to cast Barack Obama in a negative light.
Make sure you and everyone you know gets out to vote on the 4th.
EVERYONE IN LINE BY THE TIME THE POLLS CLOSE (7PM) ON TUESDAY WILL BE ABLE TO VOTE!
Don't let long lines discourage you! Vote! Vote! Vote!
YES WE CAN!

Good news:
Barack Obama visited Harrisonburg! I got into the rally, and it was really great. There is coverage of the rally, including interviews, photos, and articles here:

The debate just ended. Obama clearly won - even the Republican analysts on CNN were disappointed in McCain's performance!
Show your support for Obama by putting up a yard sign! The H'burg Democratic Committee office on High St. (near the intersection of 33 and 42) has lots of Obama-Biden signs, I was able to get 2 today when a big shipment arrived, which I'm very happy about after calling around trying to find some for a couple weeks now.
They also have signs for the local Democratic candidates for City Council and City Treasurer. Both times I've stopped by the office, it was manned by one of these candidates, so drop in if you want to meet any of them or pick up a sign!
Hope everyone in this group will proudly support Obama so we can start seeing more Obama than McCain signs in town! So far, I think I have the only Dem signs in my neighborhood on the west side of town. Pick up a sign so we can show a stronger Obama front here in the valley!

I love the message at the top of Obama's donate page right now:
"15,854 people have declared their independence from a broken system by supporting the first presidential campaign truly funded by the people."
Way to Go, Barack!
If you are in this group and happen to live in Harrisonburg/Rockingham area, please also join our local group!

Will you join me by making a small donation? Let's show how much we in Harrisonburg City and Rockingham County care by getting a whole bunch of donations - even little ones.
If you have friends on this website that live in the area, please invite them, too!
I hope we raise enough that I can increase the goal, but I figured $800 is a realistic start. That's $16 a person for 50 people.
:)
Thanks!
