The ONLY solution in IRAQ...

Peace in the Middle East
We all had better hop on the Biden train and soon at that! The only peaceful solution is what he's been saying since the onset of this war. IRAQ will have to be divided "ethnically" into three major components with oil revenue sharing and a centralized government.

I've recently come under personal attack by a handful of group "moderators" and some of their groups members for taking to task certain individuals comments on the anti-Obama media and then questioning them on their own, always pro-Obama, slanted coverage. Posting that some news outlet or "other" blog is showing bias in its critique/commentary of our candidate and then having these same individuals overlook questions which have yet to be addressed by said candidate just wreaks of hypocrisy to me and I feel it my place to say so. Any individual or group who feels the need to distort our candidates or the media's views for the sake of positive imagery is surely missing the point of this campaign. When I signed onto BarackObama.com I did so in the hopes that I would find like minded individuals who'd not only support Sen. Obama but also critique him when we felt the critique was warranted. This campaign is about individuals who as a collective are attempting to show the rest of the voting public that there is transparency, truth and fairness in Obama's cadidacy. Anything short of this and we'd be no different than those whom we hope to defeat come nomination day.

Politics for the sake of politics...

I have received many e-mails regarding my stance on the Israeli occupation of Palestine and israels' overall treatment of the Palestinian people. Most are supportive of my views but some label me an "anti-semite" as it seems that any opinion on Israel by a non-jew will automatically raise that flag. Sen. Obama has yet to discuss the true cause of middle east strife and I feel, as a supporter of Sen. Obama, that it is up to me to seek his views on this issue. If discussing peace in the middle east in the same way we discussed apartheid in South Africa or the genocide in Darfur is wrong, then don't read my posts and go and vote REPUBLICAN as they seem to only see what you see!

Obama and the traps of being "black" in politics.

It is inevitable and, although i've yet to see one, I know that the "subliminal" anti-black, fear mongering attack ads are just around the corner. Case in point: Harold Ford, Jr. Any fan or occassional listener of the recently cancelled Don Imus show who followed the campaigns leading up to last Novembers elections would know that Don "The Racist" Imus was completely behind the campaign of Harold Ford, Jr who was seeking a senate seat in Tennessee. It was a hard fought campaign, as any political observer could attest to, fought on the up and up for the most part and it looked like Rep. Ford was going to take a Democratic seat in the new Congress come January. Ford was leading in the polls right up until the night before election day.
A brief history:
"Elected in 1996, Ford has been re-elected four times by an average of 80% of the vote and enjoys a reputation as a consensus builder. In 1998, Ford was 28 years old when he cast his vote for the first federal balanced budget - the first time America's budget had been balanced since 1969. He has played pivotal roles in advancing legislation to reform the nation's campaign finance laws, to crack down on corporate cheaters by strengthening corporate governance laws, to encourage more Americans to serve their country and to raise standards in public education."
Did I mention he is African American? Not that it matters but it does. I only bring it up to make my point. He was defeated by a very narrow margin, according to those who were tracking the polls leading up to the election, and they believe his loss was due to an attack ad which only aired the night before the election during primetime viewing hours. The ad shows an attractive, single, albeit African American gentleman as a photo cut out dancing and partying with other photo cut outs and just having a rocking old time. It had a Mardi Gras feel to it until just about the last 10 seconds of the ad when all of a sudden the music and screen color became a bit darker and serious and showed a photo cut out of Mr. Ford with his arm out being pressed together with a photo cut out of an attractive 20 something, beautiful, all American blonde with the slogan underneath that read: "Harold Ford Jr...He isn't right!"
Can you see it for what it is?

I wonder if a Gore candidacy would narrow the field a bit? Sen. Obama would be well suited to having him in the hunt as it would split Hill-a-rity Clintons' core voters in half. Will Sen. Obama run as an independent should he not get the nomination at the DNC? So many questions? Let's be honest, the apathetic left isn't gonna come out in force unless he does. Anyone? Anyone?

Obama '08???

Speaking as an "out-sider" I can see why this candidate has the pulse of America going just by his manner and demeanor on this past weeks, "THIS WEEK" w/ George Stephanopoulos. Obama was asked (I paraphrase) about "having a backbone for politics" and he replied "I came from Chicago politics." Now, that's funny! That's equivalent to a New Jerseyan raised in Newark saying, "I was born in Newark and I am here in the flesh as proof that I survived Gibson!" Precise, contrite and above all humble. A very rare bird this Obama. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find many Christian Right-wingers voting for him as his manner and complexity may seem to fulfill their worlds end prophecy of another young star rising to applause as the third Anti-Christ. Can't you just hear the trumpets blaring now? lol Charismatic, charming, energizing! A peace broker with a different face and origin. It has to be asked though, as AMERICANS, in your heart of hearts: "IS AMERICA READY FOR AN OUTSIDER TAKING ON THE ROLE OF COMMANDER IN CHIEF?" I am not discussing race here! Just an out-sider. A dealer of truth from not within the beltway? Is a vote for Barack a wasted vote? Do you want the Republicans out so badly that you will vote to split the Democratic Party in two as an act of conscience? I, as one who tends to side with Liberterians, am not sure this country will ever be ready for an African American President but, what if?...
