This is almost it! I won't write in this blog again until after someone is named President-elect. When we wake up tomorrow, it will be the eve of a new age. Not the age of Aquarius, but the age of American innovation and self-reliance. We will not only take a step toward energy independence but we will take a step toward interdependence amongst our own people. I believe we will become a more connected people, which will create a stronger nation. We will begin to open the doors of understanding between our differences. We have an opportunity to concentrate on what makes us the same. It will not be a Utopia, for such a thing is not possible in the immediate aftermath of a divisive and corrupt administration. However I believe we have a chance for something very powerful to happen.
I have never felt as close to a group of strangers than I have with all of you. It just shows me the possibilites after an Obama win. We were a disconnected group of people spread across this nation as well as other countries. Yet, we have a bond because we all worked on something that was bigger than ourselves. It was not this campaign exactly, we are working together for a better nation. Barack Obama helped us focus on, not working for him, but working for ourselves. He is the catalyst. I am proud to have given this mission some of my time and money.
I hope this is a quick process tomorrow so Mr. Obama can grieve for his Grandmother. He deserves that chance just like everyone else does. The Obama family has my deepest sympathy and my sincerest thoughts.
In closing, yes, we will go vote tomorrow, we will contact those last few undecides, we will get Obama supporters to the polls. Yes, we will win the election tomorrow. Yes, we will have a hard time sleeping tonight, as if it were the first day of school after summer vacation. Yes, we will wake up before the polls in the morning. Yes we will be prepared for any last minute tricks and diversions.
Yes we can!!! Yes we will!!!
See ya, after the election.
Yours Truly,
Walter F. Osborn IV

I would love to see what y'all think...It is just something to have fun with. The thought of creating a landslide motivates me, victory is not enough, we need to make a point of this election. Our point needs to be that the youth do come out to vote, all of us are tired of the scare tactics so frequently used by the RNC. We no longer appreciate the defamation campaigns used by people like Dole and Bachmann. This world is too important for such childish behavior during a very important job interview. When I go into a job interview I don't bash the other applicants, I spend time talking about what I know and what I can do. These people running for public offices are occupying some of the most important jobs in the world, why do we allow and excuse such juvenile behavior? Sometimes we reward the most juvenile candidates by electing them. Well I say all of that stops this year. These people are accomplished adults behaving like babies for the entire world to see, it is shameful and embarrassing. Let's get some real grown-ups into these puplic offices. That's it. Have fun guessing what you think will happen on E-Day!. If you dare...:)
There has been a republican president 20 years out of the last 28 years. What does that mean? To me it means that they know how to win elections. How is that? What is it that they appeal to that most democrats don't? I think some of it is that they knew how to motivate their bases and sway independents. Clinton motivated democrat bases and he swayed independent voters. How did he do that? I believe Obama is motivating some democrat bases, but is he swaying the indies? I am just rambling.
I voted for Obama and I hope he wins. I believe it will be a close election afterall. If Obama wins, that means that Americans have become tired of being terrified into doing things. We re-elected Bush out of fear and of course his smear campaign against Kerry did not hurt either. It is just strange to see the GOP implementing the same tactics even during a time of economic crisis. Why would they continue using smear tactics if they don't work? Is it because that is all they know? Or do smear tactics really work? They certainly worked in the last two elections, what is to say they won't work on Tuesday? I am not being negative, I am actually angry and disappointed to a degree. I need to see proof that the Karl Rovian tactics have finally ran their course. It takes a lot of faith in the American attitude for Barack to win this election.
I think I stumbled onto something, Barack Obama's campaign is about faith in the American people. He is not trying to scare us into voting for him. Actually, he is not even telling us to vite against McCain. To me, he is trying to inspire us to believe IN things. The recent GOP is trying to scare people to vote AGAINST Obama, not FOR McCain. That is a very thin argument the GOP has produced during this election. I am voting FOR healthcare, my job, our energy independence/national security. McCains supporters typically describe reasons to vote AGAINST Obama. They say things like vote against socialist, vote against Muslims, vote against Obama because he bumped into an ex-terrorist in hallway. "If you do not stand for something, you will fall for anything." I really love that quote sometimes.
G'Obama
Obviously, the number one reason to vote this time is to elect Barry Obama as President of the U.S. There is a second and very important reason to vote for Dems. In the nightmare scenario that John McCain wins, We will need a Democratic House and Senate that can keep him and the other deregulators from running wild. Sometimes when people think their candidate is winning, that they don't need to vote. We have to remember other parts of the government are at stake. We have a Senate race in Georgia, this year. Popular votes in other states have no influence over our Senate race in Georgia. Just like our votes in georgia have no influence on the gubernatorial in Indiana. So just because things look good for Obama nationally, this dream cannot come true unless we all go vote. Don't let a long line stop you from voting. I am especially talking to people on this website. We have absolutely no excuse since we have enough time to come here and blog, it would be a real shame to hear some of us say that we did not vote because of long lines. I think I would take a chance of getting written up at work to vote in this election. I already voted though, and it took over an hour. You know what, people lost their lives so our country could have opportunites like these. The worst thing that would happen to us is that we get in trouble by some authority figure in our lives, like a supervisor or a professor or whatever. Take the chance. If you can vote early, do it, if not, take you Iphone/Ipod/PSP/Gameboy/Schoolbooks and a pen to keep busy while standing in line. I did not bring anything, I just stood there looking around smiling because I knew I was doing something special.
Go Obama!
At this point, I am even used to the racial hatred coming from McCain supporters. If they want to say that crazy stuff, I can even live with that, because after almost two months of it, it is only turning peoples' stomachs. People are turning against John McCain and the GOP, the more and more people get racist and/or absurd, the more people support Obama.
Finally, at this point in the game, we have heard all the racist language that exists. I am bothered that the people coming to this site are SO STUPID, they don't even realize they are making the case for OBAMA. This is the 21st century, we have bills, and our financial futures got screwed by Republican policies. I don't care if the next leader is black, white, brown, yellow, or red. This is what those IDIOTS do not understand. Go ahead, say the N-word or Coon, or whatever. Go ahead and vent your frustration like a toddler, if it makes you feel better. This election is a small scale battle. It is a battle between civility and maturity vs. ignorance and hostility. Tolerance and Unity vs. Hatred and Mistrust. I am tired of the trolls and agents coming into this site and filling up a page with stupidity. The funniest thing about those IDIOTS, is that they come here voluntarily. Why don't they go to the McCain supporter website and motivate other McCain supporters as opposed to visiting this site and almost guaranteeing that all of Obama's supporters go out and vote. When we see the polls that show us ahead, we could get relaxed, but then some knucklehead comes in and reminds us that we better vote or a-holes like that will be celebrating a McCain victory. America has outgrown that kind of gross bigotry. Those kinds of posts are beyond a little racial discomfort, they are all-out bigotry.
We need to slap all of them in the head with an Obama Landslide. Go vote and tell everyone you know to vote...Vote early or vote on Novemeber 4th, or else they win again, and this time, we know how they really feel, therefore we know how they view the rest of the world as well as how they view people in America whom disagree with them. Remember, if you disagree with them, then you may be Un-American.
Until this election is over, i will use his full name too. The ugliness is going to get even uglier because time is running out and I believe they know that we are not going to stay home on election day. Many of us are already voting anyway. Just wear your face masks because there is about to be a lot of hate spewed. I cannot wait for Barack Hussein Obama to beat John Sidney McCain.
The internet is awesome. I say that because it is a reliable avenue to receive news. I especially love it during this campaign. I give it credit for the smears just flying off of Obama's skin and flying right back into the GOP's face. Not every member in the GOP is spewing this silliness, but I feel sorry for the ones who are. I love the internet because everytime someone tells another lie, we can go jump on the net and find the truth. Pat Buchanan told Chris Matthews that Powell's endorsement was based on race. Limbaugh said the same thing, as a matter of fact, Limbaugh, is an expert on African American issues now. People can no longer deny their statements easily, as in the past.
Cheers to the internet, the new truth verifier!!!
I have definitely stopped watching or listening to republicans. I think it says more about them than it does me. I promise that I used to listen to Limbaugh, Hannity, Savage and even Ingraham. I read conservative books and everything. My veiwpoint changed when I was battling an unknown illness for the last few years. I had employer health insurance until late 2007. I lost my job because I could not get to the bottom of my abdominal pains. Well finally this summer, I wound up in the hospital, in the ICU, for the month of June. I had no health insurance at that point. I did have a job, but you know that many jobs require a probation period in order to get the benefits. I got sick just before I could fill out my papers for health insurance. Anyway, I still don't have health insurance and I can't afford it through my job and I can't get affordable private insurance becuase now I have a pre-existing condition. My wife had good insurance, but her job was really outsourced so that caused a crazy situation that forced us to move across the country just for her to get a job. This situation is a mess.
My point is that republicans have told me that if I work hard and act responsibly that I would be ok. They never promised me wealth or anything, but the things they told me were actually best case scenarios. Their stories never included how devastated your finances can be if you don't have health insurance. They only told me that "universal" healthcare was wrong. They never mentioned how millions of Americans, including those public servants, already receive a form of "universal" healthcare. These guys have a tendancy to leave things out. I believed them and thought that I would be fine if I followed their ideals. They never said that if I worked hard and had a disasterous illness and no health insurance that I would be screwed and would have to file bankruptcy. All of our savings is gone and we had around ten thousand in savings. I have a half million dollars worth of medical bills, not to mention the car I lost due to illness.
These guys don't care about you. They just want to give you an illusion of wealth and prosperity no matter what. They don't make you consider any bad things that can happen to you and they definitely don't tell you that under their plans there will not be anyone to help you if things go bad.
Conversely, they don't tell you that supporting big corporations is the reason that there won't be any help for you. They don't tell you that if big corporations run into problems, you will have to help them out, but those same big corporations don't have to do anything for you. They don't complain about corporate irresponsibilty but they blame an average person with the "American dream" for the housing crisis. It is the average person's responsibility for getting a foreclosure, but it is not the CEO's responsibility for bankrupting a fortune 500 company.
Wake up people, it is as easy as listening to their opinions about the little man and the big corporations. The conservative movement cares about financial freedom for people who actually have enough money to obtain financial freedom. Conservatives are concerned about conserving their wealth. They really are not concerned about the people who are trying to get to that point. If you are rich you are alright, if you are not, then screw you!

Have you ever been in an argument with someone and it gets to the point that you just start talking irrationally? I have. It seems to me that is where the McCain supporters are right now. When I was a conservative I could easliy listen to Democrats push their talking points. Now, I have become a democrat. When I watch FOX or MSNBC or CNN or listen to Talk radio, I can listen to anything until a McCain supporter comes on. I had no problem listening to different viewpoints before. However, I can't take this anymore. Whenever a McCain supporter comes on, I find myself switching channels because I am so tired of hearing them say the junk that they always say. They talk about Ayers, some talk about Wright, some try to justify the attack ads, some talk about "true" Americans. It is already old, and I am ready for this election to be over before these folks tear this country in two.
