This is fabulous news! Clinton must be reeling this morning. I know that by raising 27M she was hoping to begin forcing her competition out of the running. Nuh-uh Hill, not that fast. What amazes me is that Obama was able to raise nearly as much as her with only 100K donors. It's this kind of grass roots fundraising from ordinary shmoes like you and me that can and will change the course of politics in this country.
The other night, my father was talking about how his vote is still behind Hillary for the nomination. With all due respect to my father, he is still stuck on the idea that the democratic candidate with the most experience is the one that should be the winning ticket. I couldn't disagree with him more. Hillary represents the worst of what "lots of experience" is bringing to the table right now: partisanship, stale ideas, and a continuing culture of divisiveness and exclusivity that has virtually ruined our country. Of course a month ago, my father, a very intelligent, well-educated, liberal man, actually fell for and forwarded the faux "Beware Barack Obama, he may be an evil muslim terrorist" Fox News email to everyone he knows. Sigh. I had to set him straight.
Hope. Action. Change. Those three words are key, my friends! We can do it!
