... is my 2 front tooth! Ahh! Not really. All I want is a hug from president-elect Obama and his family.
I am super excited as to how pe Obama is putting together the teams to handle the businesses/government of the nation, as well as his explanations and rationale for his choices. Briillant!
I was one of those wondering about how much change we can get with the Clinton folks but when you step back and think with a clearer head one can see that pe Obama is mixing/matching experience with fresh faces/ideas and that makes a lot of sense. Change comes in many forms we may not see it immediately, afterall they have not started the work, but we will see it soon after they begin their work. As pleased as I am with the teams I hope we the people keep up the enthusiasm and stay engaged. We must remind our leaders of their roles. I feel some confidence that first lady Michelle will be there to remind pe Obama ofhis promises to us but we must also stay engaged to help pe Obama and his team reach the goals.
Yes we can make that change, from domestic to international. Obama 2008-2016.
This you tube video is so funny. i was rolling on the floor. check it out.

I found thisposting on this website http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/03/26/obama-talks-about-his-faith/ on March 26, 2008 regarding a letter from pastor Wright:
— Posted by EFWatkins
The Rev. Wright, though, has been quiet through the swirl, not making any statements publically. But a letter sent earlier this month to New York Times journalist Jodi Kantor, written by the pastor gives us some insight into his thoughts on Obama, before the release of his taped sermons. In the letter, posted below, the Rev. Wright, praises Obama while lighting up the writer for saying he was “disinvited” to the event where Obama announced his presidency among other claims. “I have never been exposed to that kind of duplicitous behavior before, and I want to write you publicly to let you know that I do not approve of it and will not be party to any further smearing of the name, the reputation, the integrity or the character of perhaps this nation’s first (and maybe even only) honest candidate offering himself for public service as the person to occupy the Oval Office,” he wrote. He also called the newspaper’s editor a sensationalist.
March 11, 2007Jodi KantorThe New York Times9 West 43rd StreetNew York,New York 10036-3959Dear Jodi:Thank you for engaging in one of the biggest misrepresentations of the truth I have ever seen in sixty-five years. You sat and shared with me for two hours. You told me you were doing a “Spiritual Biography” of Senator Barack Obama. For two hours, I shared with you how I thought he was the most principled individual in public service that I have ever met.For two hours, I talked with you about how idealistic he was. For two hours I shared with you what a genuine human being he was. I told you how incredible he was as a man who was an African American in public service, and as a man who refused to announce his candidacy for President until Carol Moseley Braun indicated one way or the other whether or not she was going to run.I told you what a dreamer he was. I told you how idealistic he was. We talked about how refreshing it would be for someone who knew about Islam to be in the Oval Office. Your own question to me was, Didn’t I think it would be incredible to have somebody in the Oval Office who not only knew about Muslims, but had living and breathing Muslims in his own family? I told you how important it would be to have a man who not only knew the difference between Shiites and Sunnis prior to 9/11/01 in the Oval Office, but also how important it would be to have a man who knew what Sufism was; a man who understood that there were different branches of Judaism; a man who knew the difference between Hasidic Jews, Orthodox Jews, Conservative Jews and Reformed Jews; and a man who was a devout Christian, but who did not prejudge others because they believed something other than what he believed.I talked about how rare it was to meet a man whose Christianity was not just “in word only.” I talked about Barack being a person who lived his faith and did not argue his faith. I talked about Barack as a person who did not draw doctrinal lines in the sand nor consign other people to hell if they did not believe what he believed.Out of a two-hour conversation with you about Barack’s spiritual journey and my protesting to you that I had not shaped him nor formed him, that I had not mentored him or made him the man he was, even though I would love to take that credit, you did not print any of that. When I told you, using one of your own Jewish stories from the Hebrew Bible as to how God asked Moses, “What is that in your hand?,” that Barack was like that when I met him. Barack had it “in his hand.” Barack had in his grasp a uniqueness in terms of his spiritual development that one is hard put to find in the 21st century, and you did not print that.As I was just starting to say a moment ago, Jodi, out of two hours of conversation I spent approximately five to seven minutes on Barack’s taking advice from one of his trusted campaign people and deeming it unwise to make me the media spotlight on the day of his announcing his candidacy for the Presidency and what do you print? You and your editor proceeded to present to the general public a snippet, a printed “sound byte” and a titillating and tantalizing article about his disinviting me to the Invocation on the day of his announcing his candidacy.I have never been exposed to that kind of duplicitous behavior before, and I want to write you publicly to let you know that I do not approve of it and will not be party to any further smearing of the name, the reputation, the integrity or the character of perhaps this nation’s first (and maybe even only) honest candidate offering himself for public service as the person to occupy the Oval Office.Your editor is a sensationalist. For you to even mention that makes me doubt your credibility, and I am looking forward to see how you are going to butcher what else I had to say concerning Senator Obama’s “Spiritual Biography.” Our Conference Minister, the Reverend Jane Fisler Hoffman, a white woman who belongs to a Black church that Hannity of “Hannity and Colmes” is trying to trash, set the record straight for you in terms of who I am and in terms of who we are as the church to which Barack has belonged for over twenty years. The president of our denomination, the Reverend John Thomas, has offered to try to help you clarify in your confused head what Trinity Church is even though you spent the entire weekend with us setting me up to interview me for what turned out to be a smear of the Senator; and yet The New York Times continues to roll on making the truth what it wants to be the truth. I do not remember reading in your article that Barack had apologized for listening to that bad information and bad advice. Did I miss it? Or did your editor cut it out? Either way, you do not have to worry about hearing anything else from me for you to edit or “spin” because you are more interested in journalism than in truth.Forgive me for having a momentary lapse. I forgot that The New York Times was leading the bandwagon in trumpeting why it is we should have gone into an illegal war. The New York Times became George Bush and the Republican Party’s national “blog.” The New York Times played a role in the outing of Valerie Plame. I do not know why I thought The New York Times had actually repented and was going to exhibit a different kind of behavior.Maybe it was my faith in the Jewish Holy Day of Roshashana. Maybe it was my being caught up in the euphoria of the Season of Lent; but whatever it is or was, I was sadly mistaken. There is no repentance on the part of The New York Times. There is no integrity when it comes to The Times. You should do well with that paper, Jodi. You looked me straight in my face and told me a lie!Sincerely and respectfully yours,Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., Senior PastorTrinity United Church of Christ
Senile Dementia (according to webster's new college dictionary) is the progressive, premature deterioration of mental faculties and emotional stability in old age.
Unlike his 95 year old mother, 71 year old John McCain seems to be displaying a serious case of senile dementia which in all honesty disqualifies him for the position of commander-in-chief of any country. We should request a full mental and physical check of this man from independent and non-partisan doctors. Or maybe not, afterall he demonstrates this on a daily basis for all to see. The proof is in the pudding (or the youtube videos below). A flipflopper or a senile man or both, you be the judge.

Here is a link to senator Obama earmarks for 2005-2006. http://answercenter.barackobama.com/cgi-bin/barackobama.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=172&p_created=1205426026&p_sid=TNlxoC-i&p_accessibility=0&p_redirect=&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MSwxJnBfcHJvZHM9JnBfY2F0cz
Earmarks by the way are what senators tag onto to bills in an effort to get money to fund certain projects in their states. Many politicians have earmarks for irrelevant and unnecessary projects and soearmarks tend to have negative stigma to them.
Reading through this it is obvious senator Obama understand the importance and usefulness of earmarks. He has put enormous efforts and a lot of thoughts into his earmarks.
A substantive amount of his requests were for scientific research to benefit more than just the state of Illinois, though the research the earmarks fund start in the state of Illinois e.g to University of Illinois for future foods initiative to study funtional compounds and reduced incidence of chronic diseases in human, the SOFIA project which is an observatory for infrared astronomy for earth studies which they say will eventually be operated at the NASA Ames research center in CA. A
Also a lot of his earmarks are for community initiatives in Illinois such as the youth initiatives, missing child programs, law enforcement in-car video cameras etc.
Plus more for enery and water, defense, homeland security, labor/health/education. I could go on and on but you can read it yourselves at the link above.
Senator Obama has certainly been working for the people more than certain senators have. Some of these senators get earmarks to rename buildings and bridges, you know, not so substantive projects. I am defintely proud to be a supporter of senator Obama for president. He may not be perfect (who is?!) but he is damn good for this country. My choice is rock solid! Obama 2008!!
FIRED UP! READY 2 GO!!
Everyday is something. They come up with new lies and deception everyday. Karl Rove must be feeling outdone by these people. Goodness gracious!!! The worst part is people, for the life of me, sit/stand there and cheer her for the foolishness. Talk about pulling the wool over their eyes. When will this madness stop.
The Clinton's latest of their strings of charades is the energy bill that was passed. Of course to get her gullible supporters she throws in Dick Cheney's name and then said Barack helped pass a bill that gave tax breaks to oil companies. WRONG! She said it was bad for renewable energy source. WRONG AGAIN! A simple fact check on this shows that the bill actually increased the net tax burden for oil companies and that this same bill favors renewable energy. Barack has been a champion of renewable energy source. His record http://obama.senate.gov/issues/energy/ shows this including the one Hillary is trying so hard to distort .
I hope Barack goes on the serious defense on this as he is so much stronger than her especially in this instance. He should just eat her alive on this and woo all her supporters to his side. Please senator Obama we are counting on you to counter punch this blunder as you did the VP thing. PLEASE!! Lights out. We need to stop this! She can definitely go down hard on this. Also please repeat your stump on Power's comments on your Iraq war position as you did in WY and MS, because she's still trying to distort your record for the PA people.
As Obama surrogates, I urge all supporters to get on other blogs, speak to neighbors, friends, families, everyone about this blunder (and others for that matter) and how very false it is and Hillary knows it. Let them know she is not interested in them knowing the facts, it's not about them it's about her and getting her way. She will spin to get her way. Not a quality we need in the president.
This is a post from progressive Dan's blog. Please post this on any republican website you can find. It's time to change the tone of this campaign. Yes we can!

Dear fellow citizens,
The Clinton's recent claims of Obama not meeting the threshold for commander-in-chief is bogus and flawed. If they think he is good enough to be VP why isn't he good enough to be President.
The truth is the Clintons and their supporters (including Gov Rendell) know in their hearts of heart Obama is the better candidate for the job. But, the Clintons want to go back to the white house not to help the American people but to secure their legacy as Bill Clinton clearly left with a bad stamp, impeachment!!
Remember those days of countless distractions from the whitehouse, when we could have taken care of business better. We could have taken out Osama Bin Laden then but we did not thanks to all the whitehouse scandals. These distractions then led to series of disasters with a ripple effect into an economy nearing recession today. This is a crippling factor we could have prevented and still can correct with a president with higher moral integrity and courage, sounder judgment from day one and desire for a working majority to move America forward. I'm talking about US senator Barack Obama, a presidential hopeful for 2008. Visit http://www.barackobama.com/learn/meet_barack.php and find out what I mean. The time is now to let our voices be heard loud and clear.
We the people need to put a stop to all the deception and lies coming from the monsterous campaign of the Clintons. Let's get fired up. Yes We Can Vote Obama 2008!
Yours sincerely,
I am for Barack Obama mainly because of his character i.e. high integrity, excellent judgment, courage (physical and moral) and his desire to build a working majority for the greater good of the country.
1) His family values and honest campaign style speak a lot on his integrity.
2) His standing up against the war in Iraq speaks a lot on his excellent judgment and moral courage.
3) His willingness to reach across the aisle for the past 10+ years (he was a state senator for 7+years and US senator for 3years) speaks a lot on his willingness for a working majority and a better America with a stronger standing in the world.
Most of all, I admire Barack Obama for his ability to withstand pressure, remain unruffled and find a way to put his points across without being disrespectful. He is more than fit to be the commander-in-chief from day 1! I honestly cannot say this for any of the remaining candidates on both sides.
As far as experience is concerned, Barack Obama has 10+ years in public office. The right kind of expereince is what is needed for the next commander-in-chief and Barack's character intertwined with his service to the people makes him qualified for the job.
Some say he is just another politician and I say he is not just another, but the right kind with rational policies and decision making. He is a hardworking junior US senator from Illinois. He has passed more substantial bills that positively affects the lives of millions of Americans, much more than some would like to give him credit for. (http://www.nytimes.com/imagepages/2007/07/29/us/politics/20070730_OBAMA_GRAPHIC.html)(http://www.ilga.gov/senate/SenatorBills.asp?GA=93&MemberID=747)
(http://obama.senate.gov/votes/index.cfm?start=1) (http://obama.senate.gov/issues/)
He is a strong candidate with a strong position on national security, the economy, affordable education/healthcare, taxcuts for the middleclass/seniors and companies who create jobs in America, early childhood education, and much much more. He is a fair man who believes in fair policies for the good of all not just the esoteric few. (http://www.barackobama.com/issues/).
On February 5, 2008, I cast my vote for Barack Obama in my state primary. On November 4, 2008, I will cast my vote again for Barack Obama in the presidential election.
Please join us in electing the most qualified person for the job. Please vote Obama. Thank you.

Desperation! US Americans betraying other US Americans by using Canadians in the name of a smear campaign. How low? Did not think it would work but sure enough it did. Scaring people to win votes has always been the ugly head of this process. How else could someone like GWB have been elected president, TWICE. It's a serious problem with our process. It's a viscious cycle that must be broken. I pray to God Barack emerges as the president come November 2008. That way we would prove that GOOD wins and evil dies eventually!!!
Austin Goolsbee is a professor at the university of Chicago and he made a rather pricey mistake. He took an invitation that was extended by the Canadian consulate under the disguise of touring their consulate. Sounds suspicious now but most likely did not then (hindsight is 20/20). He took the invitation, spoke to them for 40 minutes and 3-4 minutes of those they asked him to comment on NAFTA. Did he have to? NO. He could have passed on that but how was he to know the evil intentions lurking in their minds. How was he to know that such conspiracy could happen and could start at this stage of the election process and how was he to know that the conspiracy would be in connection with a foreign government. This is serious and most be taken seriously. Although he's said that his comments were not what the memo suggested, it does not matter now. They invited him there for one reason, to put him at the scene of the crime and then it's he-said-she-said-he-said and the burden of proof lies on the victims, us!
This is one of the smear that may have helped deliver Ohio, and maybe Texas, to the fear-mongering status quo. Did not think it'd work, but it did! My belief is that someone from the opposing sides (democrat or republican or both) used their contacts at the Canadian embassy for this to happen. A sure fault of the Obama camp it happened the way it did. The opponents needed an ammunition, at all cost, they got it and used it mercilessly. This was extremely low, very third world, but it worked. It worked because the Obama campaign appeared weak in addressing it. We appeared weak because the burden of proof was on us with little room/time to make it. Hence, the press conference held by senator Obama appeared weak by all accounts. Afterall, he had to waste his time again reiterating his position regarding Tony Rezko. Sorry to say this, but we must take the blame and make corrections immediately. Scoring one point and cheering or taking a seat is not enough when the opponents are throwing all sorts of crap at us. It's time to start driving our points home aggressively and quit walking on eggshells around the opponents. Let them cry all they want, we all know they are crocodile tears. Playing the victim and bully at the same time is part of the status quo and old school fear-politics we are rallying to get rid of. The time is NOW.
We opened a path for the opponents, which they will hold on to, but we must KILL it now. Time for damage control in Ohio and Texas and other states. This rubbish must be diffused, NOW. Don't wait till after the convention. Circulate flyers, make videos of the Canadaian government and the person who wrote the memo admitting it was a lie and Goolsbee apologizing and maybe even detaching from the campaign. He displayed zero judgment in speaking with them. If one of his students did that he/she would have gotten a big fat F.
We need TV, newspaper and radio ads to prove that Hillary knew the that the nod and wink story on NAFTA was incorrect yet she used to to sway voters, typical Karl Rove politics that is preventing America from moving forward on all issues critical to rebuiilding our economy, creating jobs, delivering on health care, keeping our promise as a nation. She is fighting alright. SHe is fighting for her legacy not the American people. We need to expose her for all her lies and scandals. America needs to be reminded. It's that 10-15% (mostly old and uneducated) that need to know so we need to constatly reiterate by running ads and speaking about it. People need to know the facts on us and the facts on her, compare and contrast and the choice will be clear. We've done that a bit but not enough so silly politics like the Canadians meddling gives the evil an upper hand. We must stop this. We must run with pasion, right now we look passive!!
We have been chanting for months now that we want change. Obama camp and grassroots have been working their fingers to the bone. We were making progress and we are still making progress. But on March 4th, some Ohioans and Texans decided they don't want the change the rest of us want. They proved that dirty politics and smear tactics reign. The politics of FEAR still dominate the hearts of millions of Americans. How do we let go of this? How do we move on, make progress, if a smaller portion of the population wants to hold back? HOW DO WE MAKE PROGRESS???
I've had a few email conversations and here I post excerpts from them:
T. Illesanmi wrote-
Obama may or may not be the best leader for America, and we really can't say at this point if he will be the next President of the United States but one thing is sure - he has made history. He has dared to tread where very few people dare to tread and proceed to actualise what most people with his characteristics and background only dream of. I know quite a bit has been said about how he is an inspiration to many but I think the title of this email discussion speaks to what he inspires in many people - that We can, meaning I can and anyone can. That we can be the best that we can be, wherever we are.
Like has been mentioned before, i especially like the fact that Obama is there at the forefront and a strong contender for (maybe) the most visible, most impactful and toughest job in the world, because of who he is as a human being, compared with other contenders for the same position. In other words, he is not being considered because it will be nice to have a black person for a change but because, color aside, this guy is good and, we want him to lead our country and in a way, lead the world. The late John H. Johnson, founder of Ebony, said, excellence is the greatest deterrent to racism and I think Obama shows that. He transcends racism, he outshines the darkness of racism and each one of us can too.
I think Obama gives us the permission, in a way, to step out of our shells and our comfort zones. It reminds me of the quote read by Nelson Mandela at his inauguration - "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate but that we are powerful beyond measure..." Whatever our color, whatever our background, wherever we are, whatever we do, we can be the change that we seek no matter what that change is ...
